In this post, I’ll tell you about the new Joe Kid ability and go through the moves that were shown during the showcase. We will also look at the new Awakening-style Ultimate and give you an idea of how the ability performs.

The Steel Ball Run update also includes a new game mode called Bizarre Pursuit, a new boss known as Steel Rider, and new titles for players to collect.

For now, though, the main focus is Joe Kid. From its regular M1 attacks to Wormhole, Golden Spin, Chumin Pursuit, Final Point, and the Ultimate, here is what was shown during the ability showcase.

Anime Apocalypse Steel Ball Run Update – Joe Kid Ability Guide

Joe Kid is the new ability added with the Steel Ball Run update.

The ability is based around Johnny, the Golden Spin, and Tusk firing nails. The full moveset was shown during the update showcase, including the regular M1 attacks and several active skills.

Before testing the moves, different traits were also being considered for the ability, including Shinagami and Reaper.

The ability was then tested without boosting its ability stats, so the performance shown was based on the regular version of the moveset.

Joe Kid M1 Attacks

Joe Kid’s regular M1 attacks involve firing bullets using the character’s hand.

The attacks appeared to have a bit of range, although nothing particularly extreme was shown during the test.

They seemed fairly decent for regular attacks, especially considering the ability stats had not been boosted at the time.

So, the M1 attacks provide some ranged damage, but they do not appear to be the most powerful part of Joe Kid’s kit.

Wormhole

The first major skill shown for Joe Kid was Wormhole.

At first, the move seemed a little unusual, but after testing it again, it became clear that you can actually move around while the ability is active.

This makes Wormhole more interesting than it initially appears.

The ability also lasts for a decent amount of time, and the fact that you can continue moving while using it could make it useful in different situations.

That mobility gives the move a more unique feel compared to simply standing still and activating an attack.

Golden Spin

The next ability shown was Golden Spin.

The move was tested normally and then tested again by holding the skill.

Based on the showcase, holding the move appeared to work in the same general way each time.

Golden Spin is another part of the Joe Kid moveset connected to the Steel Ball Run-inspired abilities included with the character.

Chumin Pursuit

The third skill shown was called Chumin Pursuit.

At first, it was not immediately obvious what the move was doing during the test.

However, after trying it again alongside the regular attacks, the ability appeared to move very quickly.

As the move continued, its effect also seemed to keep going upward, making it more noticeable after watching it for longer.

So, Chumin Pursuit is a fast-moving part of the Joe Kid kit, even though its full effect was initially a little difficult to understand during the first test.

Final Point

The V move for Joe Kid is called Final Point.

One of the more useful things about this move is that you can move around while using it.

Because of that, Final Point could potentially be very useful during boss fights and raids.

Being able to continue moving while the ability is active gives you more flexibility instead of forcing you to stay in one position.

During the showcase, this was one of the moves that looked particularly useful for PvE situations.

Joe Kid Ultimate

The Joe Kid Ultimate was also shown during the ability showcase.

The Ultimate had a much bigger and more dramatic appearance compared to the regular skills and was described as going absolutely crazy during activation.

Although the entire sequence was not seen perfectly all the way through, it looked like one of the better Ultimates released for Anime Apocalypse in a while.

The Ultimate was compared positively with previous abilities, including Stark, which was also considered to have a very cool Ultimate.

After testing it again, the overall visual presentation still looked impressive.

Is Joe Kid Good?

Based on the showcase, Joe Kid has several interesting mechanics.

The M1 attacks have decent range, while Wormhole allows you to move around during the ability. Final Point also gives you mobility, which could make it particularly useful against bosses and during raids.

The Ultimate is probably the most visually impressive part of the kit, even though the overall rating given to the ability was around 6.5 to 7 out of 10.

So, while Joe Kid may not be considered completely overpowered or something crazy based on the showcase, it still has a unique moveset and several useful mobility mechanics.

Other Steel Ball Run Update Content

Joe Kid is not the only addition included in the Steel Ball Run update.

The update also brings:

  • Bizarre Pursuit, a new game mode.
  • Steel Rider, a new boss.
  • New titles for players.
  • The new Joe Kid ability and its full moveset.

This gives the Steel Ball Run update a mix of new gameplay content, a boss, collectible titles, and a brand-new ability for players to try.

Overall, the Steel Ball Run update brings some interesting new content to Anime Apocalypse, with Joe Kid being one of the biggest additions.

The ability has a decent set of regular attacks and several unique skills, particularly Wormhole and Final Point, which allow you to move around while using them.

Chumin Pursuit brings another fast-moving attack into the kit, while Golden Spin and the other skills complete the moveset.

The Ultimate is probably the biggest highlight from the visual side and looked like one of the more impressive Ultimate sequences seen recently. Even with an overall rating around 6.5 to 7 out of 10, Joe Kid still looks like an interesting ability for players who want to try out the new Steel Ball Run content.
