In Approximately Up, the Drum Kit is a hidden collectible placed high atop one of the tallest towers at the Earth base. Its elevated position makes it easy to overlook, but finding this secret item adds a fun building option to your arsenal by unlocking a unique placeable block.
Accessing the Drum Kit requires some vertical maneuvering. You can either use your jetpack or pilot a ship to fly up to the tower. Here are the steps to help you grab this elusive treasure and add it to your collection.
How to Find the Drum Kit
1. Spawn at Earth
Begin by spawning at Earth. Once there, locate the tall assembly structure that stands near the water tower—its height makes it impossible to miss in the landscape.

This towering structure is your destination for finding the Drum Kit, perched high above for curious explorers.
2. Find the Fuel Tank
Approach the assembly structure and look for the fuel tank positioned directly in front of it. This tank will be your first stepping stone upwards.

Use your jetpack—activated by holding the Space button—to jump onto the top of the fuel tank. This will position you perfectly to attempt the next leap.
3. Jump Onto the Assembly Structure
From the fuel tank, scan for a small ledge on the assembly structure. This narrow surface serves as a crucial jump point.

Leap from the fuel tank onto this ledge. Then, use your jetpack again to ascend to the very top of the assembly structure where the Drum Kit awaits.
4. Find the Drum Kit
Once atop, carefully look around to spot the concealed Drum Kit sitting prominently on the tower.

With the Drum Kit located, pick it up. While in Fly Mode, you can carry the drum kit through the air, making your escape from the tower straightforward.
5. Throw the Drum Kit Off the Tower
After grabbing the Drum Kit, simply toss it off the tower. This action unlocks the item as a placeable block in your inventory, ready for use.
You can also access the top by flying a ship instead of using the fuel tank and ledge route if you prefer. However, using the jetpack is a handy method when you want to reach the Drum Kit without needing a ship at hand.
Importantly, you don’t need to carry the Drum Kit back to your ship after throwing it off; the game automatically registers its unlock upon the throw.
Can You Use the Drum Kit?
Once unlocked, the Drum Kit becomes a placeable block you can install on your ship or in your builds, letting you integrate its unique features into your creations.
Whether you arrive in style piloting a ship or rely on your jetpack, reaching the assembly tower’s summit and retrieving the Drum Kit adds a stylish new addition to your toolkit in Approximately Up.
