Each Black Star unfolds through a series of carefully crafted puzzles requiring specific tools and upgrades. Preparation and attention to detail are critical since many tasks demand replay or careful sequencing to avoid setbacks.
Tile Puzzle Star
The tile puzzle challenges your memory and precision. You need to collect blueberries and throw them onto panels to reveal hidden images, then match these images in pairs.
Matching all image pairs correctly is crucial—messing up results in the puzzle locking until the next in-game day. This penalty makes careful matching essential to avoid long waits. Completing the puzzle rewards a computer password.

Radio Math Star
This star unlocks only after acquiring the upgraded sledgehammer. Use it to smash walls near the computer room, revealing vital radio hints.
You must then press the radio buttons in an exact sequence based on the numerical hints, always starting with the right button. This method avoids confusion and ensures the addition sequence follows the clues correctly.
The most important rule is that I always press the right button first, which means I add first before switching sides.

Smoothie Star
Before starting this star, several upgrades and progress points are mandatory.
Required Upgrades and Progress:
- Third sledgehammer upgrade
- Chainsaw upgrade
- Completion of the matching tile puzzle
- Computer password unlocked
Use the sledgehammer to break down walls and expose the smoothie stand. Nearby, a text document outlines the perfect recipe.
Prepare the smoothie by shredding the listed ingredients with the chainsaw; the order you add them does not affect the outcome.
To make the smoothie, I shred the required ingredients using the chainsaw. The order does not matter.
Smoothie Ingredients:
- 5 blueberries (fill half the juice meter)
- 3 strawberries
- 1 kiwi
- 1 peach
Deliver the completed smoothie to the stand to unlock the Black Star and remove the blur from a lore receipt.
Trophy Star
The Trophy Star represents one of the more time-intensive challenges, requiring several unique upgrades and multiple gameplay days to accomplish.
Required Upgrades:
- Bubble upgrade
- Pumpkin buddy
Destroy walls around the computer room to reveal a concrete layer beneath, an essential step to access the next phase of the trophy hunt.
Upgrading golden berry chance and unlocking the berry picker helps manage the berry buddy availability, reducing wait times across multiple days.
This Black Star can be approached without pressure since it can span over several in-game days.
Unlocking the Trophy Room
Fly upward on the right side of the computer building to reach the trophy room entrance. Place gold berries on pedestals matching their silhouettes, which unlocks the Black Star and reveals added lore.
I place the golden version of each required berry onto its matching pedestal. Once all pedestals are filled, the Black Star unlocks and additional lore is revealed.
Push Pin Stars
Nearby the computer room’s entrance, a large blue push pin and surrounding red pins hide a counting puzzle that requires a keen eye.
The goal is to use a hole to see how many pins line up between the shapes and the large blue pin, revealing the correct numbers to input.
Solving the Puzzle
Count the pins visible through the hole for each shape, then interact with each tomato pincushion to enter those numbers. Once correct, the large blue pin interaction unlocks the Black Star.
When all numbers are entered correctly, I interact with the large blue push pin. If the values are correct, the Black Star unlocks.
Taxi Star
The Taxi Star is comparatively straightforward and one of the quickest to earn.
Across from the computer room, a clock beside a star door indicates when a yellow taxi arrives and briefly stops, then clips through a wall.

Final Star
The Final Star stands as the toughest challenge, hidden behind a subtle secret area demanding clever navigation.
Find a hidden gap at the back of the final layer, behind the computer room, marked by the distinctive floating star.
Entering the Secret Area
Shift the hole carefully to locate a small opening between the wall and secret room. Use the bubble ability to float down and then back up through it.
The room inside deceives players by leading forward into an endless hallway, forcing an unconventional approach to progress.
Solving the Final Trick
Walk backward while facing the green wall to reach the flower. Touching it teleports you back outside but does not alone unlock the star.
To actually finish, break the bubble outside the secret entrance. Only then does the final Black Star and achievement unlock, marking your completion of the game’s deepest mysteries.
