After Dylan shatters one Hedron link in the mysterious Unknown, visions reveal several more remain. This revelation ramps up the tension, as severing these connections is essential to finally confronting the Hedron itself.
To truly disrupt the Pattern affecting the Unknown, Dylan must now eliminate the two remaining Hedron links. This stage tests your navigation and combat skills, setting the stage for the ultimate showdown ahead.
Note: This walkthrough focuses on severing the Hedron links, a critical mid-point in Control Resonant that requires puzzle-solving and boss encounters to progress.

To get back into the Unknown, start by heading to the lobby of the Oldest House. Take the elevator upstairs to access new floors.
Among the options is the Roof Access floor — selecting this transports you to the gateway of the Unknown and kicks off the next phase of your mission.
You will see that you have a new floor that you can reach, which is Roof Access. Pick that one. You will arrive at the start of the Unknown.
Before tackling the next steps, you must complete the Pope Research side quest, which involves deploying probes in key Unknown locations. This task is crucial as it unlocks faster traversal methods.
Pope’s probes are scattered around the Unknown. Spot the first research balloon nearby and use Shift to stick to its surface, then interact to unlock a box of probe relays.
Pick up a relay and check your mini-map to locate the exact spot where it belongs, usually marked clearly with a red circle. Accuracy here is vital to making progress.
Placing each probe correctly activates a Gravity Well overhead — a critical gameplay mechanic for moving across the Unknown’s fragmented landscape.
The spot is usually marked with a red circle on the ground, so you should not have trouble finding it.
Use Reach to grab onto a Gravity Well and jump. Though it triggers a lengthy fall, this method will deposit you into the core of the Unknown, opening further exploration options.
Don’t forget to locate and complete the Map Kit near the center; unveiling the map dramatically simplifies navigation and reduces the chances of getting lost in this complex area.
The map reveals interconnected sections linked by Gravity Wells, each with arrows that indicate travel directions — understanding this network is key to efficient movement.
Only after you install probe relays in every major section will the Gravity Wells become operational, fully unlocking the Unknown’s traversal routes.
Without setting up these relays, parts of the Unknown remain inaccessible, so careful probe placement is non-negotiable to proceed.
Without doing this, you will not be able to access these areas or properly explore the map.
Each Unknown segment is associated with a research balloon. Your job is to systematically deploy probes across all of them to light up the map and open pathways.
Follow on-screen arrows to figure out how the sections connect. After placing probes, observe how the Gravity Wells network expands, making navigation easier.
Starting at the Oldest House rooftop, you have six more probes to deploy. The process is consistent: pop the balloons, destroy boxes, place the probes on marked spots to spawn needed Gravity Wells.
With all probes set, Pope introduces one final deployment at Point 0 — the heart of the Unknown. This involves positioning four probes around the center, covering north, east, south, and west.
It’s the same process: pop the balloon, destroy the box, and place the probes in their correct spot. The Gravity Well will spawn.
Completing these placements triggers a unique pattern in the map’s center and reveals a resonance linked to Jesse, hinting at possible ways to influence the Patterning.
Proceed to the south island’s Evac Building and approach the Patterned area using the Gravity Well. Here, use Reach to jump onto the patterned platform where a pivotal encounter unfolds.
Dylan attempts to interfere with the Patterning here, but only distant echoes of Jesse’s voice emerge, setting an eerie atmosphere as you prepare to sever the first remaining Hedron link.
Perhaps this will be the way to help Jesse out of the Patterning. Anyhow, moving along, head to the south island, the Evac Building, and use the Gravity Well there.
As soon as you approach the central Patterning, use Reach to stand on the platform where the Patterning is. Dylan will try to stop it, or cleanse it, we’re not sure what he did here. We can only hear a distant patterned voice of Jesse screaming.
After wrapping up Pope’s quest, navigate to the Patterned Evac Building in the southeast part of the map. Platform your way to the building’s patterned TV and interact to gain entry.
Inside, confront the Hedron Factor, an enemy that you can’t damage directly. Instead, focus on defeating the smaller enemies it summons using status effects like Fire or Mold and switch to your secondary form to build Falter quicker.
Be mindful of your aerial attacks when fighting the Hedron Factor. The environment has gaps that can damage you if you fall, so keep track of your footing and time your maneuvers carefully.
As the boss summons clusters of minions, work swiftly to wipe them out before it spawns more major enemies. Although their attacks are mostly projectile-based and avoidable, health dropped by them is vital for survival.
When the Hedron Factor’s health bar is empty, land the Execution attack to finally break this link to the Hedron and clear your path forward.
For the Hedron Factor, it spawns a single enemy at a time, and you need to quickly defeat it.
Be careful, as you will rely on aerial attacks, but don’t forget you have limited time while floating, and you can fall through the gaps here and take damage.
Eventually, the boss will spawn a bunch of smaller enemies, and you need to defeat them all before the boss starts spawning another big enemy.
These enemies don’t affect the boss HP. They’re here just so they drop health elements for you.
All the attacks they have are a bunch of projectiles that you can easily avoid, as these fights are rather annoying than difficult, so just get on with it.
After you deplete its health bar, perform the Execution attack, and this will destroy the link to the Hedron.
Next, work your way northward to the Patterned Field Office. This requires a bit of a detour, so utilize the Gravity Wells for faster transit.
Inside the Field Office, gear up for the fight with the Hedron Proxy. This boss is a composite of multiple heavy Hedron enemies that must be eliminated before you can damage the main form.
Expect the Proxy to continuously send various Hedron minions your way, which keep it shielded as long as they survive. Prioritize defeating these adds immediately.
During the battle, the Proxy will summon even smaller enemies—capitalize on these to regain health and stay in the fight longer.
Once the Proxy’s health is depleted, finish with another Execution move to sever the second Hedron link. With both links destroyed, you’re now ready for the ultimate confrontation.
After you deplete its health bar, deliver the final blow and perform the Execution attack, and this will destroy the link to the Hedron. Meaning there are no more links to the Hedron, and now you are ready to stop this.
This completes the Hedron link severing phase in Control Resonant, paving the way toward the climactic moments of the story.
