Best Strategy for Surviving 20 Waves in the Outside

The toughest achievement, I'm Still Alive, demands enduring 20 waves in the Outside. This requires a focused setup and survival mindset.

Building around Model T paired with Rifle Drones proves effective. Shotgun Drones can supplement your defenses, while Rifle Turrets bolster the train's onboard firepower.

Early runs should emphasize collecting upgrades that enhance:

  • Drone Mobility
  • Coin Gain

Speedier drones excel at gathering coins and killing enemies without overexposing the train. Elevated drone mobility keeps you agile and your defenses dynamic.

Prioritize leveling cars to Level 3 to unlock trade-ins, which confer powerful global upgrades. Secure at least one Max Health upgrade, alongside boosting Rifle Crit and Rifle Damage.

Maximizing Rifle Crit to 100% transforms your rifle damage output, making it central to hard-hitting and consistent offense.

Early Waves

The initial waves don't require an elaborate setup. Small numbers of Rifle Drones provide solid early defense, sometimes paired with Shotgun Drones if available.

Early coin gain and drone mobility upgrades pave the way for stronger drone and AI enhancements later in the run.

Locking powerful upgrades when they appear in the shop avoids spending coins prematurely and keeps options open for strategic timing.

How to Survive the Outside

How to Survive the Outside

Once you enter the Outside, enemy waves escalate rapidly, especially past Level 32. Movement should focus around the screen's center to better manage threats.

Using drone special abilities frequently boosts damage output during overwhelming enemy surges, pivotal in prolonging survival.

Maintaining your Level 3 cars instead of trading them away pays off by providing vital modules and slots during these intense phases.

To earn I'm Still Alive, it's not necessary to defeat the Grandma boss again. Simply surviving just before her wave triggers the achievement.

Recommended Train Setup

The following configuration helped reach 20 waves in the Outside:

Incorporating AI Brains further elevates drone firepower, granting you an edge when waves intensify in the Outside.

The early waves let you build damage potential without overinvesting in defense. However, survival demands shift dramatically after entering the Outside, prioritizing durability and control.
