In the early stages of Cai’s journey in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, building renown is a slow grind. Cai comes from humble beginnings and starts with only his childhood friends as allies, so completing side quests is essential to gaining the reputation needed to recruit units. Among these, the Missing Granddaughter quest stands out as a straightforward but rewarding task that can accelerate your progress. This quest tasks you with locating a lost girl using just one clue—a perfect challenge that mixes exploration with story-driven incentives.
The Missing Granddaughter Walkthrough
The quest becomes available at the start of chapter 4 in Cai’s story, specifically on the in-game date 3/1, and you’ll need to complete it before 3/7, just prior to the next main story mission. To begin, find the elderly woman standing beside the quest board in the town of Dagison and speak with her to receive the details.
The old woman shares that her granddaughter is enamored with the arena and has wandered off alone. She fears the dangers lurking in the city—bandits or worse might harm the child. Your task is to find this young girl and ensure she’s safe.
Tracking her down is simpler than it first sounds. Since you know she loves the arena, head to the east side of the Arena’s main gate. There, near a stack of barrels, you’ll spot the missing granddaughter. Interact with her, and she’ll accompany you back to her grandmother without hesitation.
Return to the grandmother to complete the quest and claim your rewards. This mission grants you a generous 1,500 Gold and 100 Renown, making it one of the most valuable side quests for climbing the ranks early in the game.
