Trading is important in Halcyon Days at Taoyuan, and every item has a value in trading. Learn all the detailed information about item trading from the item list below.

Trading in Halcyon Days depends entirely on fixed, quantifiable item values. By familiarizing yourself with these values, you can avoid common pitfalls like offering valuable items for less or failing to meet trade requirements. This system ensures you can convert items efficiently, using the exact value to balance trades across various item categories such as seeds, livestock, and crafting materials.

In Halcyon Days at Taoyuan, trading is entirely based on fixed item values. Every tradable item has an exact value, and understanding these values allows me to trade efficiently without wasting resources. In this guide, I explain how item values work and list the known Contribution Values for seeds, livestock, materials, and more.

It’s important to note that while this collection of Contribution Values aims to cover a broad range of items, some entries might be missing or require further verification as the game develops and as more data becomes available.

Every tradable item in Halcyon Days carries a specific numeric worth known as its Contribution Value (CV). You can reveal this CV by accessing your inventory, selecting the Knowledge tab, and hovering your cursor over the item in question. This system forms the backbone of the trading mechanic.

Understanding Contribution Value

Every tradable item has a Contribution Value, commonly shortened to CV. I can see this value by opening my inventory, going to the Knowledge section, and hovering over an item.

For instance, a common crop like Wheat carries a Contribution Value of 15. This means it contributes 15 points when used to fulfill a trade deal, serving as a standardized metric across items.

Items sharing the same Contribution Value are interchangeable on a one-to-one basis. This means if you need to trade an item like Softwood which has a CV of 2, you can substitute it with any other item of equal CV, such as Hay . Understanding this equivalency streamlines your trading decisions.

Items with the same Contribution Value can be traded one for one. If Softwood has a CV of 2, I can trade it using any other item with a CV of 2, such as Hay.

Some items—including certain animals and seeds—do not display their Contribution Value directly in the Knowledge interface. These values were determined through player research and testing and are summarized in the tables below to assist your trading strategies.

You’re not limited to trading items one by one. Combining several items whose total Contribution Values add up to the trade requirement will complete the transaction successfully. Bulk trading multiplies the required CV by the number of trade units to be exchanged, enabling efficient large-scale trade deals.
