Locating and Unfurling Flags in Moon Sweepers

Finding points of interest across the lunar surface comes down to scanning the horizon for vertical silhouettes and using the interaction key (E) at the proper target.

How to Spot and Raise Flagpoles

Flagpoles stand out against the rocky terrain as tall, narrow posts extending upward from the ground. To reveal a flag:

  1. Approach the base of the pole until the on-screen prompt appears.
  2. Press and hold E until the interaction finishes.

If you stand near a pole and see no interaction prompt, move closer to verify whether it is an interactive flagpole or regular scenery.

Surveying Sites and Locating Stations

Beyond flagpoles, lunar expeditions involve cataloging survey sites and tracking down main stations using your compass.

How to Complete Site Surveys

Survey sites are distinguished by non-natural lunar equipment, particularly machinery mounted on landing legs. To complete a survey:

  1. Walk up to the landing equipment.
  2. Locate the survey prompt on your display.
  3. Trigger and finish the survey interaction. Merely standing next to the equipment will not credit the discovery.

Finding Stations with the Compass

Stations are easily reached by checking your navigation tools:

  • Compass Icons: Watch the compass at the top of the screen for designated station icons. Align your heading with the marker and continue in that direction until the facility comes into view.
  • Maintain Bearings: Keep track of your path relative to your starting location, as circling crater rims can disorient your sense of direction.

Exploration Tips and Troubleshooting

  • Watch the Horizon: Look forward and scan the skyline for distant silhouettes instead of focusing only on the terrain immediately around your feet.
  • Explore in Daylight: Structures and poles are significantly easier to distinguish when the sun illuminates the lunar surface.
  • Split Up in Multiplayer: When playing with a team, spread out in separate directions to cover more territory rather than traveling in a single pack.
  • Relocate After Dry Spells: If an extended search in one zone produces no results, turn toward a new quadrant rather than repeatedly checking familiar ground.
  • Verify Interaction Prompts: If a flag or site fails to register, ensure you stood close enough and held the interaction button through the full animation cycle.
