Collecting Vampsters is one of the biggest collectible activities in Moonlight Peaks. These adorable cave creatures have wandered away from their home, and it’s your job to rescue them and return them safely to the Cave of Echoes. While they don’t affect the main story, finding every Vampster is a fun long-term objective that encourages you to explore every corner of the map.

This guide explains how the Vampster system works and lists every currently known Vampster location.

How to Unlock Vampsters

You’ll discover the Vampster quest during your first week in Moonlight Peaks.

After receiving the objective to mine Copper Ore, travel to the Cave of Echoes, located south of town and west of Orlock’s Mansion. As you approach the cave, you’ll notice a small creature quickly running away.

Head inside and you’ll meet Alina, who explains that dozens of Vampsters have become separated from their home. She asks for your help returning every lost creature back to the cave.

From this point onward, every Vampster you find can be rescued and carried back to its home.

How the Vampster Collection Works

Finding a Vampster is only the first step—you also need to safely carry it back to the Cave of Echoes.

There are a few important rules to remember:

  • You can only carry one Vampster at a time.
  • If you drop a Vampster, it immediately runs back to the exact place where you originally found it.
  • Talking to NPCs while carrying one will cause you to drop it.
  • Entering an area that triggers a cutscene also makes the Vampster run away.
  • After progressing far enough, you can revisit the Vampster home while using your HellKitten Form.

Because of these mechanics, it’s usually best to return each Vampster immediately instead of continuing to explore while carrying one.

Cave of Echoes Vampsters

The Cave of Echoes contains the first group of Vampsters you’ll encounter.

Vampster 1

Follow the misty path to the right of the Vampster home. Stay beside the cave wall until you reach a pink plant where the Vampster is hiding.

Vampster 2

Take the path to the left of the Vampster home. You’ll find this one waiting in the middle of the area.

Vampster 3

Follow the lower-right path until you reach a bell. The Vampster is standing beside it.

Vampster 4

Starting from the bell location, continue along the lower-right path until you reach the water. This Vampster is hiding beside the nearby rocks.

Vampster 5

Return to the bell area and head straight upward into the circular clearing. Look inside the reeds on the left to find another hidden Vampster.

Town Vampsters

The main town contains a large number of hidden Vampsters, both outdoors and inside buildings.

Current locations include:

  • Behind The Broken Lamp Inn
  • Near Elvira’s House
  • Two on the pier during the Loveage Festival
  • Inside Crest Garden
  • Beside Noel’s House
  • Three inside Coffee & Coffins (shop, back room, upstairs)
  • Behind Coffee & Coffins near the lemon tree
  • Two inside The Broken Lamp Inn
  • Three inside The Howling Hammer
  • Inside Saga’s House
  • Two inside Elvira’s House
  • Two inside Samael’s House
  • Beside Death’s Pier
  • Three inside Webb of Wonders
  • At the Midnight Market
  • Inside Dragan’s House
  • Two inside the Henderson Family Home

Many outdoor Vampsters become much easier to spot after clearing trees, bushes, and tall grass with your axe and scythe.

Moonlit Pines Vampsters

Moonlit Pines hides several Vampsters throughout its forests and caves.

Current locations include:

  • Beside the small pond
  • North of the pumpkin patch
  • Left of the path connecting Groovy Grove and Moonlit Pines
  • Near the steps leading to the sandy fishing area
  • At the northern edge of Moonlit Pines beside the blue campfire
  • Inside Fiona’s House
  • Two inside the Crystal Cave

Be sure to search both outdoor paths and indoor locations to avoid missing any.

Misty Shores Vampsters

Several Vampsters can be found throughout Misty Shores and the nearby mansion.

Current locations include:

  • Beside the Moonlight Tower
  • Inside the Moonlight Tower
  • Near the campfire beside the small green bridge
  • Three inside Ambrosia Mansion, including the kitchen, downstairs corner, and upstairs beside the coffin

If you’re carrying a Vampster through this area, avoid talking to characters or triggering story scenes, as doing so will cause it to return to its original location.

Groovy Grove Vampsters

Groovy Grove currently contains four known Vampsters.

You can find them:

  • Along the long beach
  • Beside the small waterfall
  • Near the cliff beside the crypt
  • Inside Viktor’s Crypt

Since the beach is fairly open, these are generally easier to locate than those hidden inside buildings.

Howling Marshes Vampsters

The swamp region contains several well-hidden Vampsters.

Current locations include:

  • Eastern side near the yellow mushroom fairy ring
  • Under the broken bridge
  • Inside Logan House
  • Western side beside the twisted tree

Search carefully around trees and marshland, as these creatures blend into the darker environment.

Khazan Temple Vampsters

Khazan Temple currently has two known Vampsters.

They are located:

  • To the right of the temple
  • To the left of the temple

Although this is one of the smaller collectible areas, it’s still worth checking both sides of the temple before leaving.

Tips for Finding Every Vampster

  • Return each Vampster immediately instead of carrying it while exploring.
  • Avoid speaking to NPCs while holding a Vampster.
  • Be careful when entering new areas, as story cutscenes will make the Vampster run back.
  • Regularly clear trees, bushes, and tall grass to reveal hidden creatures.
  • Search inside every accessible house, shop, cave, and landmark, as many Vampsters are hidden indoors.
  • Revisit seasonal locations and festival areas, as some Vampsters only appear during specific events.

Rescuing every Vampster takes time, but it’s one of the most rewarding exploration challenges in Moonlight Peaks. As you continue unlocking new regions and seasonal content, make a habit of checking every path, building, and hidden corner—you’ll gradually bring every lost little creature back home to the Cave of Echoes.
