Character Profile
Formerly the Grand Inquisitor of the imperial Shouzheng Bureau, he was an uncompromising purist who rooted out corruption without mercy or compromise. In Year 13 of The Order, he answered an imperial summons to Tianling Peak alongside his cadre, only to vanish without a trace.
After entering the Eleven Pavilion, their warped pursuit of justice curdled into bloodlust, demanding summary execution for every crime regardless of reason or scale.
Perhaps the pure-hearted Banyue Hua, who once dreamed of cleansing this troubled realm, perished long ago atop Tianling Peak. What remains today is merely a hollow shell chained to unyielding obsession...
Ability Profile
Far from being an armchair magistrate, Ban Yuehua, Grand Inquisitor of the Shouzheng Bureau, constantly led from the front, personally hunting down criminals across the land.
Serving in the magistrate's ranks, Banyuehua naturally wields arms far beyond the ordinary. Her signature armament, "Burying Blossoms Beneath the Moon," actually unites two distinct weapons: the Bright Moon Blade sheathed at her left hip, and the Blossom-Burying Cannon slung at her right. Through masterful coordination of the pair, she regularly unleashes a lethal synergy far greater than the sum of its parts.
In the wake of the Tianling Massacre, Ban Yuehua underwent Sha-Qi modification, altering her entire left side along with the lower left portion of her face excluding the mouth. The transformation augmented her combat arts drastically, allowing her to follow an immediate blade strike with a pinpoint musket shot that virtually no opponent can evade.
Background & History
Before the Tianling Tragedy
In Year 11 of The Order, Ban Yuehua rose to become the ninth Grand Inquisitor of the Bureau of Righteous Order—a magistrate who defied traditional Jianghu codes to restore the agency to its founding ideals.
Long corrupted by backroom deals between outlaw factions and Ministry of Justice bureaucrats, the Office of Rectitude had declined into a hollow shell of indolent officials. Disgusted by the decay, the unbending Ban Yuehua resolved to clean house and accomplish something grand.
Shortly after taking office, she took on several major cases. Leading raids that eradicated coastal pirate dens around Kuigang for years, she even managed to throw Master Shen Ba—the shadowy tycoon of Nancheng who controlled seven sects and fifteen gangs—straight into the imperial dungeons. Her uncompromising, aggressive crusade earned her both terror and wrath among regional oligarchs and wealthy merchants, driving some to pull strings in the capital to have her permanently eliminated.
In Year 13 of The Order, a shadowy figure atop Tianling Peak issued invitations summoning martial champions to view the Celestial Tome. Tasked by the Ministry of Justice to seize the fragments, Ban Yuehua led an elite cadre from the Bureau of Righteous Order up the mountain, biding her time to strike...
After the Tianling Tragedy
Emerging as one of only nine survivors of the Tianling Tragedy, Ban Yuehua finally realized that her superiors had foreseen the disaster all along and knew full well the perils of the Celestial Tome. Tasking her and the Shouzheng Department with seizing its remnants from the realm's fiercest martial masters was never meant to succeed—it was a plotted suicide mission designed to eliminate her.
Learning the ugly truth shattered Banyuehua's faith in her superiors, yet her resolve to enforce order across the martial realm grew fiercer than ever. What began as imperial duty twisted into a fanatical crusade. Determined to bring judgment upon the Jianghu alone, she aligned with ten others to decipher the Celestial Tome, willingly undergoing Sha-Qi body modifications just like the rest.
Shortly afterward, Banyuehua resolved to rebuild the Bureau of Rectitude on her own terms. Dispatching letters far and wide, she rallied the veterans who had not marched with her onto Tianling Peak. Compelled by her magnetic charisma, her old comrades answered the call in droves, embracing Sha-Qi body modifications just as she had, to stand proudly within her reconstituted Bureau.
In Year 31 of The Order, the Cabinet of Eleven enacted their 'Blossom on All Fronts' strategy, dispatching each member and their retinue to stir up rebellions across various Shadow Realm cities. Ban Yuehua spearheaded her Righteous Guard into the desolate Wild City of the southwest—the most lawless metropolis in the realm.
Barren City's isolated terrain and harsh conditions historically fostered ruthless factions driven by bloody feuds. Peace only arrived when Bie Yingzong brokered a truce between rival underworld syndicates and upright sects, establishing a strict non-aggression pact that spared civilians and brought rare tranquility to the wasteland.
Just then, Half-Moon Flower arrived. Driven by a warped sense of judgment and a bloodlust born of Sha-Qi body modification, she passed summary sentence on anything she deemed sinful—a decree that spelled immediate beheading for any cutthroat in the martial underworld.
Every time she carried out an execution with her own hands, she felt that the justice once championed by the Justice Guard was finally vindicated. The tragic toll, however, was that her ruthless purges never brought order to Desolate City—they only plunged it into deeper chaos.
Pushed past their limits by her relentless tyranny, the martial clans of the Deserted City forged an alliance, enlisting the shadowy Order to eliminate the Bureau of Integrity once and for all.
The Order accepted the contract and dispatched Mortal Emissary Lei Dang, only to find the Desolate City far more perilous than anticipated. Soon thereafter, all contact with him ceased.
Thus, the Order's Patriarch once again dispatched his adopted son, Soul, toward the Desolate City. Another tempest of blood and steel was about to break...
