Character Profile

The premier illusionist of the Cabinet of Eleven, and one of the rare few who remained in control without succumbing to Sha-Qi overload during the Tianling Massacre.

As an illusionist, Menghua relished luring foes into the "Inner Wulin" to crush them inside boundless phantasms. Yet lingering too long in that spectral realm exacted a permanent toll: she completely lost her way back to the mortal "Outer Wulin."

The deer eluded the minister of Zheng; the butterfly bewildered Zhuangzi in dream. If what we hold now is not an illusion, how much longer can it outlast a reverie?

Did this dream trap its prey, or become a cage for the hunter?

Ability Profile

Reigning at the zenith of illusionists alongside Xukong, Menghua wielded phantasms with deadly elegance. By unleashing Sha-Qi through her folding fan, she trapped foes in an endless labyrinth of illusions until they died within their own dreams.

Unlike Xukong, Menghua became so thoroughly captivated by exploring the Inner Martial World that she transformed into an entity tethered entirely within it. This comes with both a boon and a curse: while her mastery over illusions, barriers, and mental manipulation in the Inner Realm is unrivaled, she has surrendered her persona in the Outer Martial World, forced to seize mortal minds to interact with physical reality.

Menghua condensed her bottomless Sha-Qi illusions onto her treasured fan, 'Drunken Haze,' sweeping them forward in a whirlwind of pink petals. The weak-willed would succumb instantly, intoxicated to death within the sweet phantom vortex and immobilized forever.

Background & History

A Renown Resounding Throughout the Realm

Born long before the inception of The Order, Menghua was one of the realm's foremost beauties, captivating countless martial artists who longed to win her favor.

Since ancient times, great beauties have borne an aloof pride, and Menghua was no exception.

To Meng Hua, the mortals of the martial world were mere rabble fit only to grovel at her feet. Sharing her bed was nothing but a fool's fantasy; more often than not, the warriors of the Jianghu were simply playthings for her amusement.

Her haughty disregard for the martial world bred widespread malice, inciting challengers who forgot one vital truth: Menghua was no mere decorative beauty. She was an extraordinary mystic—one of the vanishingly few prodigies to master both sorcery and illusion.

Encountering the Evil King in the Black Forest

As Menghua delved deeper into her mastery of illusions, an alluring whisper wormed into her thoughts, slowly luring her into a trance. She assumed it was merely a telepathic resonance shared between practitioners of esoteric arts.

No longer satisfied with mere phantom voices, she tracked their trail deep into a forest of towering primeval trees. The moment she entered the grove, she blacked out. When she awoke, she fell utterly under the spell of the man before her—he embodied every ideal Menghua had ever envisioned, yet whenever she looked upon his countenance, a faint, mystical glow kept his features shrouded in mystery.

He called himself the Lord of All Evils, veiled in a shadowy enigma that Menghua could never pierce, pulling her ever deeper into his thrall.

Through encounters with the King of All Evils, an entirely new dimension unfolded before Menghua—the 'Inner Wulin.'

Within the Inverted Wulin, Menghua continually spun her own phantasms while devouring those of others with the aid of the Myriad Evil King, causing her powers to grow exponentially.

Having lingered within the Inner Wulin for far too long, Menghua gradually lost the power to walk freely through the Outer Wulin, becoming wholly bound to that spectral domain.

Refusing to accept her exile, Menghua searched desperately for a return path to the Outer Wulin to no avail. Her despair ignited a fury that scorched the Inverted Wulin; together with the Myriad Evil King, she devoured illusions and imprisoned reflections until they forged the Myriad Evil Sect.

Though Menghua exhausted every avenue, she never found a way back into the Outer Wulin. By then, however, her power had grown vast enough to hijack the minds of mortals there, transforming them into her living mouthpieces.

When word of the Tianling Peak assembly arrived in Year 13 of The Order, Meng Hua sought a way back to the Outer Martial World within the arcane tome, steering her puppet proxy up the heights.

In the end, the vaunted Tianling Assembly proved to be nothing but a deadly trap. Though the bloodbath on Tianling Peak robbed Menghua of the Heavenly Tome, it mattered little to her, as her true form resided in another realm entirely. Following a period of seclusion, she chose to enter the Eleven Pavilions, delving into the decipherment of the Tome's fragmented pages.

Illusion Art: Seven Ingenuities

Having joined the Eleven Pavilion, Meng Hua searched the mortal martial realm for expendable pawns. Before long, an illusionist known as Master Qiqiao drew her predatory gaze.

Framed by a junior disciple for patricide, this youth endured the torment of 'Endless Phantom Pain' at the hands of his peers. Seeing his agony, Menghua reached out; her soothing, bewitching voice bound his wounds and rekindled his will to live.

A year later, the junior disciple of Master Qiqiao successfully overthrew their sect. Triumphant, he slipped into the dungeon to silence Master Qiqiao for good—only for Menghua to seize the opening and pull Qiqiao into the Inner Wulin.

Beguiled by Menghua's illusions, Master Qiqiao became her obedient thrall. Tasking him with uncovering a path for her return to the Surface Martial World, she dispatched him beyond the realm of the Inner Martial World.

Deathmatch of the Twin Maidens

In Year 31 of The Order, following counsel within the Cabinet of Eleven, the 'Chaos of the Monstrous Masks' erupted in full force.

Aware of Xu Kong's renown as master illusionist of 'The Order', Meng Hua resolved to destroy this bitter rival, conjuring the Golden Jade Pavilion upon the open sea through illusory arts.

As expected, this gambit drew Void out in person. Yet after striking down Menghua's proxy in the Surface Martial World, Void knew full well that as long as Menghua remained alive in the Inner Martial World, the Eleven Pavilion could resurrect at any moment.

Void ultimately chose to discard her mortal body entirely, crossing into the Outer Martial Realm to wage a battle to the death against Menghua.

Time flows differently across the Surface and Inner Wulin. In the blink of an eye, an eternity of conflict had unfolded across the shadowed realm, their fierce clashes waking departed souls dormant for centuries. Yet as the war raged on, the fabric of the Inner Wulin fractured Xu Kong into pieces, leaving Meng Hua—naturally intertwined with this nether world—holding a commanding advantage.

In the end, Void chose mutual ruin, dragging both Menghua and herself down into the Endless Purgatory.

The Endless Calamity Realm is a maelstrom of infinite transgressions, representing the most chaotic and violent expanse within the Shadow Wulin—an inescapable, ever-churning vortex. Lying at the shifting intersection between the Surface and Shadow Wulin, the only way to safeguard one's sanity here is to retain humanity rooted in both worlds simultaneously. This fatal vulnerability is Menghua's greatest weakness, having fully integrated into the Shadow Wulin, and overcoming it stood among her true motives for joining the Cabinet of Eleven.

In the end, both queens met their mutual demise within the Endless Calamity...
