Soul serves as an Emissary of The Order under the codename "Black Wound." His spectral agility and lethal martial arts trace back to the fallen lineage of Dark Demon Castle, as does his signature blade, Black Wound, one of the stronghold's three treasures. Born a scion of Dark Demon Castle, Soul is the second son of its former master Mo Tian, and the younger brother of Mo Jian.

Raised since infancy by an unwed woman in Nancheng, Soul's earliest memories held only faint glimpses of a towering man carrying him through raging fire—a recurring nightmare that plagued him for years. In an era when single mothers faced harsh judgment, she raised him until she fell ill and died when Soul was twelve. To pay for her funeral, Soul sold himself into an underground boxing den in Nancheng. There he met Zuo Shang, who shared the same fate, and the two forged a lifelong bond. Escaping the ring together, they drifted through the Jianghu, turning to shady dealings to make ends meet.

Following his foster mother's death, Soul took to wandering the martial world alongside Zuo Shang. During their journey, they nearly unmasked the Jianghu's darkest secret, and Soul almost lost his cherished token, the Heart of Darkness. A clash in Jiangnan culminated in Zuo Shang accidentally slaying the renowned Master Breeze, drawing fierce pursuit from orthodox sects. Unshaken, the two realized their lethal talents could carve out an empire of their own. As fate would have it, a middle-aged benefactor stepped forward to offer them a greater purpose. Inducted into the formidable, enigmatic "Order," they were forged into fearsome killers, winning endless glory across battlefield campaigns. Enduring harrowing missions as an Emissary of the Order, Soul matured into a supreme swordsman, fulfilling every ambition harbored by his adoptive mentor, Mu Tianmiao.

Soul's life has been an agonizing saga of being manipulated, haunted since childhood by two relentless curses: recurring nightmares of an inferno and a shadowed figure turning slowly around with an obscured face; and abrupt surges of inexplicable Killing Intent that warp his consciousness, fueling an enduring dread that the bloodlust will consume his mind and trigger an irredeemable catastrophe.

In Year 30 of the Order, Soul's stellar conduct across campaigns like Jiange and Moon Fortress earned him a pivotal assignment: probing the enigmas of Mirage in the Southern Martial World. Alongside Zuo Shang, he distinguished himself in the conflict and unmasked the mastermind behind Mirage. Impressed, the Patriarch elevated Soul into the Order's inner sanctum. Yet even as the two companions drifted apart, Soul never doubted their bond, clinging steadfastly to the childhood oath they had sworn to carve their own monumental legacy into the martial world.

In Year 30 of The Order, Soul returned as the central figure. With his longtime comrade Zuo Shang venturing deep into the vast desert to hunt down the Cabal of Eleven, Soul—the operative most adept against Mirage—stood alone as the vanguard in a grueling war against the syndicate. A decade later in Year 40, manipulated by his closest confidant and his beloved, Soul inadvertently struck down The Order's Master. Branded a traitor and pursued across the realm, he was critically wounded in a duel with Zuo Shang. Desperate to fight back, Soul underwent the enigmatic physician Ghost Hand's forbidden "Art of the Poisoned Heart." Though his martial arts were restored, he was left with merely sixty-four days to live. With time slipping away, Soul set out on an irreversible quest to settle every score, even as the martial realm plunged into turmoil from The Order's bloody civil strife.

Aloof and solitary at first glance, Soul might easily be dismissed as a typical taciturn swordsman. Beneath that distant shell, however, beats a fiercely loyal heart that prizes brotherhood above all. While composed for the most part, youth and passion still occasionally betray him, leading to impetuous missteps.

Lean and lanky with piercing, soulful eyes, he favors plain black cloth to slip effortlessly into the shadows, offset off-duty by an extravagant red cloak.

Sha-Qi: The foundation behind every technique, capable of empowering select skills to greater heights. Consuming concoctions like Mourning Medicine unleashes a technique's absolute peak potential. Killing Intent: An alternate term, though its destructive potency is ten times greater than ordinary Sha-Qi.

Extinction Slash: Black Wound's clan-clearing blade technique, dealing fatal hits to multiple foes while inflicting a weakening debuff; when empowered, it can wipe out several top masters in a single stroke. Rain Slash: Unleashes dozens of rapid, light strikes forward, overwhelming opponents with sheer volume. Falling Cleave: Plummets from the air with sheer force and velocity to split foes asunder. Whirlwind Launch: Sweeps enemies into the air with a tempest of sword slashes. Flash Kill: Black Wound's signature art, peerlessly swift; it has felled countless elites, subjecting foes to agony before death. Phantom Counter: A mystic art weaving Sha-Qi illusions to bait attacks and deflect them with amplified force—the fiercer the incoming strike, the stronger the retaliation, though it cannot counter overly intricate maneuvers. Concealed Strike: Soul cloaks his form to ambush opponents from behind. Shadow Strike: A lethal surprise ambush woven into Ghost Walk, operating on the same principles as Concealed Strike. Nether Strike: Soul's slowest yet most crushing blow, carrying dreadful force as if blessed by netherworld specters.

Zero: Decapitate – A relentless, penetrative blade-qi assault far surpassing any of Soul's skills outside of Annihilation. Annihilation – Soul's ultimate technique, whose singular strike is completely unblockable across the martial world. Its lethal variations elude even Soul's own control, and due to its immense Sha-Qi cost, he rarely unleashes it. Reset to Zero – 'The supreme esoteric art of our Dark Fiend Fortress.
