RetroSpace challenges players to conquer various achievements tied to its diverse gameplay elements including mission difficulties, intricate side quests, and hidden collectibles. Given the game's branching timelines and unique station areas, missing key achievements is common, especially those linked to NPCs, Mutamods, and special weapons.
Tracking down every achievement demands careful attention to the game’s many layers, from exploration to combat restrictions. Knowing where to find collectible cards, Mutamods, and the right NPCs to engage will help you claim each victory RetroSpace has to offer.
RetroSpace Difficulty Achievements
Out of madness
Requirement: Complete the game on any difficulty setting.
Finishing RetroSpace on Story, Normal, 1999, or Russ Kurtell difficulty will unlock this achievement. Completing the game on harder modes also retroactively unlocks those for easier difficulties.
Gotcha, Boomer!
Requirement: Complete the game on 1999 difficulty.
Successfully finishing in 1999 mode requires navigating RetroSpace with enhanced challenges spanning tougher enemies and limited resources.
I’m MacReady!
Requirement: Beat the game on Russ Kurtell mode.
This is the most difficult setting available, demanding mastery of mechanics and resource management throughout your playthrough.
RetroSpace Challenge Run Achievements
These achievements push your skills further by imposing strict conditions for completing the game. Quick saves and auto saves can be used, but avoid manual save file manipulation to prevent achievement issues.
Hobo for lifeHobo for life
Requirement: Finish without purchasing food or drinks from vending machines.
While you can still spend credits on Mutamods and upgrades, never use vending machines to buy consumables during this run.
Never thereNever there
Requirement: Complete the entire game without alerting any enemies.
This "ghost mode" means your Enemies Alerted stat must stay at zero. Even partial alert triggers could jeopardize the achievement.
Warren WrenchmanWarren Wrenchman
Requirement: Only use the Power Wrench and HyperBroom for direct kills.
Other weapons are off-limits for direct attacks, though environmental kills and enemies defeating each other are permitted.
This is NOT the wayThis is NOT the way
Requirement: Never equip or pick up the helmet throughout the game.
Foregoing the helmet disables HUD elements like the minimap and health bar, and removes oxygen protection, making vent navigation dangerous.
Clean handsFor this achievement, never pick up the helmet during the entire playthrough.
Clean hands
Requirement: Do not kill any foes, including robots, turrets, or living enemies.
Your Player Kills stat must remain at zero; accidental environmental kills don’t affect this.
I prefer my payment in cashRequirement: Accumulate 2,000 credits before dying once.
Credits are scattered widely, with an estimated total of 6,000–7,000 on the station, so early careful farming without dying is essential.
Are you okay, buddy? There are roughly 6,000–7,000 credits available across the station and both timelines, so you need to collect a significant portion of the available money without dying.
Are you okay, buddy?
Requirement: Spend at least one hour continuously with health below 20%.
You can take refuge to safely maintain low health and use save reloading to fulfill this challenging requirement.
This can be risky during normal gameplay. You can stay somewhere safe and wait, or reload saves if necessary.

Too good to be true
