  • Should You Unlock Multiple Classes?

The class system can initially seem a little confusing, especially because you are not permanently locked into just one class. You can unlock multiple classes and switch between them, while Hybrid builds let you mix abilities from different classes.

So, if you’re trying to decide which class to unlock or wondering exactly how the Hybrid system works, here’s everything explained based closely on the information shared in the guide.

What Are Sins and Offerings?

The first thing you need to understand is Sins and Offerings, because these are important requirements for unlocking classes.

You can think of them as two different paths. Sins represent the more chaotic or evil side, while Offerings represent the good side.

According to the guide:

  • Sins are obtained by killing people.
  • Offerings can be obtained through good quests and activities such as bounties.

Most classes require either 30 Sins or 30 Offerings before you can unlock them.

For example, Crusader is considered a good-aligned class, so you need 30 Offerings. On the other hand, a class such as Gladiator requires 30 Sins.

However, not every class follows this exact system.

Marauder Requires Both Sins and Offerings

Marauder is a special case.

Instead of requiring 30 of one resource, Marauder requires:

  • 15 Sins
  • 15 Offerings

This makes Marauder connected to both sides of the system. However, this does not automatically mean Marauder is a Hybrid class.

The Hybrid system is something different, which I’ll explain further below.

You Usually Need 1,000 Silver for a Class

Before unlocking a class, you should also make sure you have enough Silver.

Most classes will likely cost around 1,000 Silver, so it’s a good idea to keep that amount ready before you start working toward a class unlock.

However, having the Sins, Offerings, and Silver isn’t always enough by itself.

You also need to complete the class quest.

Every Class Has Its Own Quest

Each class has its own requirement or quest that you need to complete before getting access to it.

Some of these quests are easier than others.

For example, the Marauder quest is relatively simple. You basically need to run across the map within a certain time limit.

Meanwhile, Gladiator has a more difficult requirement because you need to kill 30 Goblins.

So before choosing a class, I would recommend checking what its quest requires. You might have enough Sins or Offerings already, but the quest itself could take additional time.

Can You Switch Between Classes?

Yes, and this is one of the coolest parts of The Veil’s class system.

You are not permanently locked into one class.

Once you unlock multiple classes, you can switch between them. For example, if you have Crusader and Marauder unlocked, you can change from one to the other instead of having to completely restart your character.

This means you can eventually unlock several classes and choose whichever one you feel like playing.

Different classes also come with their own abilities and movement options. For example, Marauder has its own unique dash style, while switching back to a class such as Crusader changes your class abilities again.

So you don’t need to worry too much about choosing the “perfect” class immediately. You can continue unlocking more classes and switch between them later.

How to Become a Hybrid in The Veil

Now let’s get into the Hybrid system.

Becoming a Hybrid basically means mixing abilities or features from different classes.

For example, let’s say you’re currently playing as a Crusader.

You might like being a Crusader, but perhaps you don’t like one of the abilities that comes with the class. Instead, you may want to replace it with an ability from another class, such as Marauder.

Once you start mixing those class abilities together, you become a Hybrid.

So you could have:

  • A Crusader-based build
  • A Marauder ability
  • Another ability from a different class

The important thing is that you’re no longer using a completely standard class setup.

You Can Mix Different Class Abilities

The Hybrid system appears to give you a lot of freedom when building your character.

For example, you can select a skill from another class and combine it with abilities you already use.

You could have a Marauder-related ability while still keeping a Priest or Crusader ability.

That is what makes the Hybrid system interesting. You’re not simply choosing one class and accepting everything that comes with it. You can experiment with different combinations and create a build that better matches your playstyle.

This could lead to some very powerful combinations.

One example mentioned in the guide was combining Crusader and Hive Disciple. That combination can potentially let you use healing while also poisoning enemies around you.

That sounds like one of those combinations where mixing classes could completely change how your character plays.

What Happens to Your Class Buff When You Become Hybrid?

There is one important downside to becoming a Hybrid.

You lose your normal class bonus buff.

Each regular class has its own bonuses and drawbacks.

For example, Marauder has bonuses related to movement speed, while Crusader has bonuses related to healing and resistance, along with its own negative effect.

When you switch into a Hybrid setup, those normal class buffs disappear.

So becoming a Hybrid gives you more flexibility with abilities, but you sacrifice the special bonuses that come from staying with a standard class.

This means you’ll need to decide which is more valuable for your build:

  • Keeping your class buffs
  • Mixing abilities from multiple classes

For some players, the Hybrid combinations will probably be worth losing the buffs. For others, staying with a normal class might be the better option.

All Known Classes in The Veil

At the time of the guide, these were the known classes mentioned:

  • Gladiator
  • Dusk Wing/Dusk Bringer
  • Hive Disciple
  • Sky Sentinel
  • Crusader
  • Florist
  • Marauder
  • Cultist

Here’s a quick explanation of what each one is generally like.

Gladiator

Gladiator is basically one of the more straightforward warrior-style classes.

It has a combat-focused playstyle and is known for having a Rage Mode. If you enjoy direct fighting and getting into combat, this is probably one of the more obvious classes to look at.

It requires the Sin side of the progression system.

Dusk Wing or Dusk Bringer

Dusk Wing, also referred to in the guide as Dusk Bringer, seems to have a more stealthy and mobile playstyle.

It was compared to something like a Faceless or Shinobi-style class from Rogue Lineage.

One of its notable features is a grappling hook, giving it a different movement style from the more traditional warrior classes.

Hive Disciple

Hive Disciple has a very different style from the standard combat classes.

Its abilities appear to involve bugs and poison, allowing you to damage or affect enemies in a more unusual way.

This class could be especially interesting when used in a Hybrid combination with another class.

Sky Sentinel

Sky Sentinel was described as a strong class with a summoning-related playstyle.

It appears to focus on the good or Offering side of summoning, making it different from Cultist, which represents the more evil version of that type of playstyle.

If you like summons and ranged or utility-focused gameplay, this could be a class worth trying.

Crusader

Crusader is one of the more support-oriented classes.

You can think of it as a Priest-style class with healing abilities and support options.

It can help allies and has bonuses related to healing and resistance. Crusader can also become especially interesting when you start mixing its abilities with another class through the Hybrid system.

Florist

Florist was compared to the Druid-style class from Rogue Lineage.

So if you’re familiar with that type of gameplay, Florist should feel somewhat familiar in terms of its general concept and role.

Marauder

Marauder is one of the more unusual classes because of its requirement of 15 Sins and 15 Offerings.

It focuses heavily on speed and mobility.

However, the guide points out that Marauder doesn’t appear to have a damaging move, which might make some players question whether they want to use it as their main class.

Its speed and movement options could still make it extremely useful when creating a Hybrid build.

Cultist

Cultist is associated with the more evil side of summoning.

While Sky Sentinel appears to represent the Offering-based summoning style, Cultist is the more chaotic or evil version.

If you prefer darker builds and summoning-focused gameplay, this is one of the classes you may want to investigate.

Should You Unlock Multiple Classes?

In my opinion, one of the best things about the class system in The Veil is that you don’t have to commit yourself to only one class forever.

You can unlock multiple classes and continue switching between them.

That also gives you more options for experimenting with Hybrid builds. The more classes and abilities you have access to, the more combinations you can potentially try.

So rather than worrying about picking only one class, I would focus on collecting enough Sins and Offerings, completing class quests, and gradually unlocking the classes that interest you.

The Veil’s class system gives you much more freedom than simply picking one permanent role.

You can unlock multiple classes, switch between them, and even create Hybrid builds by mixing abilities from different classes. The main thing to remember is that most classes require Sins or Offerings, usually around 30, along with completing their class quest and having approximately 1,000 Silver available.

Hybrid builds are especially interesting because they let you combine abilities in creative ways, although you do lose your normal class buffs when becoming a Hybrid.

With classes such as Crusader, Marauder, Hive Disciple, Gladiator, Sky Sentinel, and more available, there are plenty of combinations to experiment with as you unlock more of the game’s class system.
