One of the biggest power boosts in Star Sailors comes from equipping the right Relic Sets. While leveling your characters is important, your gear often determines whether you breeze through difficult content or get stuck on later stages.
At first, the gear system can seem confusing because every Relic Set has unique effects, different farming locations, and random stat rolls. Knowing which set to farm—and which stats to keep—can save you a lot of stamina and upgrade materials.
This guide explains every Relic Set, where to farm it, the best main stats to look for, and which sub stats are actually worth keeping.
How the Gear System Works
Every character can equip a full Relic Set.
A complete set consists of multiple gear pieces, and equipping 2 pieces or 4 pieces from the same set activates additional bonuses.
Generally:
- 2-Piece Bonus gives an immediate stat increase.
- 4-Piece Bonus unlocks a stronger combat effect.
For most DPS characters, you’ll eventually want the full 4-piece set unless you’re creating a specialized hybrid build.

Fixed Main Stats
Three equipment slots always roll the same primary stat.
| Piece | Main Stat |
|---|---|
| Head | ATK% |
| Top | DEF% |
| Bottom | HP% |
These stats never change regardless of rarity.
Ring Main Stats
Rings have random main stats.
Possible options include:
- ATK%
- DEF%
- HP%
- Element Damage%
For most damage dealers, Element Damage is usually the strongest choice when it matches their element.
Otherwise, ATK% is an excellent alternative.
Supports and tanks often prefer HP% or DEF%, depending on their scaling.
Necklace Main Stats
Necklaces also roll random main stats.
Possible options are:
- Crit Rate
- Crit Damage
- Heal Bonus
- Accuracy
- Resistance
- Chain Mastery
Choosing the correct Necklace depends entirely on the character’s role.
DPS
Prioritize:
- Crit Rate
- Crit Damage
Healers
Prioritize:
- Heal Bonus
Debuffers
Prioritize:
- Accuracy
Tanks
Resistance can be useful for avoiding harmful status effects.
Chain Teams
Chain Mastery becomes much more valuable for characters built around Chain damage.
Best Sub Stats
Sub stats often matter even more than the main stat because they can significantly increase a character’s overall performance.
Best DPS Sub Stats
Look for combinations of:
- ATK%
- Crit Rate
- Crit Damage
- Chain Mastery
These provide the largest increase to overall damage output.
Best Tank Sub Stats
Prioritize:
- HP%
- DEF%
- Resistance
These improve survivability in longer encounters.
Best Healer Sub Stats
Focus on:
- Heal Bonus
- HP%
- Defense
More healing combined with better survivability makes healers much more reliable.
Best Support Sub Stats
Useful choices include:
- Accuracy
- HP%
- Defense
- Chain Mastery
These help supports survive while improving their utility.
Gear Rarity Explained
Gear comes in four rarities:
- UC (Uncommon)
- R (Rare)
- SR (Super Rare)
- SSR (Super Super Rare)
Higher rarities provide:
- Higher main stats
- Better sub stat rolls
- Stronger upgrades at maximum enhancement
While UC and Rare gear are useful early on, you’ll eventually want to replace them with SSR pieces as you progress.
