Stats determine how strong Coen becomes in The Blood of Dawnwalker. As you level up Perks and improve your equipment, these stats can change and help shape how you play during the day and at night.
Coen doesn’t use exactly the same stats throughout the entire day. His human and vampiric forms have different health and combat-related stats, so the equipment you choose for each time of day can have a noticeable effect on your build.
Below, I’ve explained every stat currently available in The Blood of Dawnwalker and how it works.
Human Health
Human Health determines how much damage Coen can take before dying while he is in his human form.
This stat is active during the daytime and can be restored by using consumables.
You can see Human Health as the red bar in the lower-left corner of the screen.
Vampiric Health
Vampiric Health is Coen’s health stat while he is in his vampiric form.
It becomes active at nighttime and determines how much damage you can take before dying. Instead of relying on normal healing consumables, Vampiric Health can be replenished by drinking blood.
Like Human Health, it is displayed as the red bar in the lower-left corner.
Stamina
Stamina is consumed when Coen performs several physical actions, including:
- Attacking
- Sprinting
- Omniblocking
If you keep attacking or defending without giving yourself time to recover, Coen can become fatigued. This leaves you more vulnerable to enemy attacks, so managing your stamina is important during longer fights.
Stamina is shown as the yellow bar below your Health.
Activation Charges
Activation Charges are used when you activate your Active Abilities.
These charges naturally replenish over time. However, you can speed up their recovery by successfully blocking attacks or attacking enemies.
The Activation Charge meter is shown as the gold emblem above the Health bar in the lower-left corner.
Armour
Armour represents how well Coen is protected against incoming attacks.
You can increase your Armour by equipping protective gear such as:
- Boots
- Chest Armor
- Leg Armor
The amount of protection you actually receive is also affected by your Armour Proficiency.
Corruption
Corruption represents Coen’s vampiric state and increases as he drinks blood.
Increasing your Corruption level is important for a vampiric build because higher levels make additional Perks and Abilities available for you to learn.
So, Corruption isn’t simply another defensive or offensive stat. It also acts as a form of progression for Coen’s vampiric abilities.
Weapon Critical Hit Chance
Weapon Critical Hit Chance determines how likely Coen is to land a critical hit when attacking with a weapon.
A successful critical hit deals increased damage, making this stat particularly useful for builds that focus on weapon attacks.
Weapon Damage
Weapon Damage determines how much damage Coen’s weapon attacks deal to enemies and bosses.
Increasing this stat makes your regular weapon attacks more deadly.
Unlike Human Health and Vampiric Health, Weapon Damage remains available regardless of whether you’re playing during the day or nighttime.
Claw Critical Hit Chance
Claw Critical Hit Chance determines the chance of dealing increased damage when Coen attacks using his claws.
This is primarily relevant to your vampiric combat setup, where claw attacks become an important part of your offense.
Claw Damage
Claw Damage determines how much damage Coen’s claw attacks inflict on enemies and bosses.
This stat is tied to his vampiric combat and becomes particularly important at night when Coen can use his supernatural abilities.
How Stats Work in Blood of Dawnwalker
Coen’s stats are affected by the equipment and accessories he has equipped.
One important thing to remember is that the game gives Coen two separate Equipment Sets:
- Daytime Equipment Set
- Nighttime Equipment Set
You can customize both sets independently, allowing you to prepare Coen for his different forms and combat styles.
Daytime Stats
During the daytime, Coen returns to his human form and uses Human Health.
This is the time when you generally want equipment and accessories that improve stats suited to human combat. The source recommends looking for bonuses to:
- Witchcraft
- Swordmastery
- Human Health
Your weapon-related stats remain available as well, so you can still benefit from Weapon Damage and Weapon Critical Hit Chance.
Nighttime Stats
When night arrives, Coen takes on his vampiric form and gains access to his supernatural stats.
For a nighttime setup, equipment and accessories that improve the following are particularly useful:
- Vampirism
- Claw Attacks
- Vampiric Health
At night, Coen uses Vampiric Health instead of Human Health, while stats such as Claw Damage and Claw Critical Hit Chance become important for his vampiric attacks.
Which Stats Change Between Day and Night?
Coen’s stats can be divided into two groups.
Day and Night Stats
Some stats are tied to Coen’s current form and therefore change depending on the time of day.
Daytime:
- Human Health
- Swordmastery-related bonuses
- Witchcraft-related bonuses
Nighttime:
- Vampiric Health
- Corruption
- Claw Damage
- Claw Critical Hit Chance
- Vampirism-related bonuses
Stats Available at Both Times
Other stats are retained regardless of whether it is day or night.
These include:
- Stamina
- Armour
- Activation Charges
- Weapon Damage
- Weapon Critical Hit Chance
This means you don’t need to build completely separate versions of every stat. Instead, your two equipment sets can focus on the bonuses that matter most for Coen’s current form.
Best Way to Build Coen’s Stats
The best stats ultimately depend on how you want to play.
For daytime combat, focus on equipment that supports your preferred human combat style, particularly Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Human Health.
For nighttime combat, look for bonuses to Vampirism, Claw Attacks, and Vampiric Health.
Because Coen automatically changes between his human and vampiric forms, setting up both Equipment Sets properly is important. You can then switch between builds naturally as the game moves from day to night instead of relying on one setup for everything.
