The latest Anime Final Quest update finally gives Shadow fans something they’ve been waiting for—a full Shadow Cid Evolution. Alongside the new evolution, the update also introduces a brand-new raid, fresh materials to farm, and a couple of free codes that are definitely worth redeeming before they expire.
I honestly like that this update isn’t just “here’s a stronger weapon.” You actually have to progress through the original Shadow questline first, collect evolution materials, and then challenge the new raid if you want to fully upgrade your build. If you’re jumping back into the game after a break, here’s everything you need to know.
New Anime Final Quest Codes
Before doing anything else, redeem the newest update codes for some free rewards.
AtomicIsBack
Rewards include:
- Around 50 premium currencies (both types)
- Useful resources for progression
UseYourLuck
Rewards include:
- Raid Tickets
- Gold
- Additional update rewards
Raid Tickets are especially valuable now since the newest raid is tied directly to Shadow’s evolution materials.
How to Unlock Shadow Cid Evolution
The new Shadow weapon isn’t something you can evolve immediately.
You’ll first need the original Shadow Cid V1.
If you haven’t unlocked it yet:
- Visit the Sid NPC.
- Complete the entire Shadow questline.
- Obtain the original Shadow weapon (V1).
Only after obtaining V1 will the evolution option become available.
How to Evolve Shadow Cid
Once you’ve unlocked the original weapon:
- Go to the Weapon menu.
- Upgrade the weapon as much as possible.
- Select the Evolve option.
- Collect all required evolution fragments.
- Confirm the evolution.
After the materials are consumed, your weapon becomes Shadow Cid Evolution (V2).
Evolution Materials
The update introduces several evolution fragments that are required before evolving the weapon.
These materials come from multiple sources, including the brand-new raid.
One of the important materials you’ll eventually need is the:
- Eminence Crystal
Since raid rewards are tied to your progression, expect to run the raid several times before gathering everything you need.
New Shadow Raid Explained
A new Shadow Raid arrives alongside the evolution update.
You can access it from the Raid menu, where multiple difficulties are available.
If you’re trying the raid for the first time, starting on Normal difficulty is a good idea to learn enemy attacks before moving into higher difficulties for better rewards.
Besides being a fun boss fight, the raid is currently one of the best places to collect evolution materials.
Shadow Cid Evolution Moveset
One thing that immediately stands out is that Shadow Evolution now comes with four active abilities, giving it much more flexibility than many other weapons.
Void Step
A fast dash attack that quickly closes the distance between you and enemies.
It’s perfect for starting combos or chasing moving bosses.
Atomic Slash
This move unleashes multiple powerful slashes in front of your character.
Because it lands several hits in quick succession, it’s excellent for triggering critical hits.
Atomic Portal
Probably one of the cleanest-looking abilities in the update.
The move creates portals before launching devastating attacks against nearby enemies. Besides looking great, it deals impressive burst damage.
Healing Ability
Instead of another offensive attack, the fourth skill restores your health.
At first this may seem less exciting than another damage move, but during longer boss fights and difficult raids, having reliable self-healing makes surviving much easier.
Shadow Ultimate – Atomic
The ultimate ability is easily the highlight of the entire evolution.
Once activated:
- Swords begin floating around your character.
- A short cinematic plays.
- Shadow unleashes the famous Atomic attack.
The damage is enormous.
During testing, the ultimate was capable of deleting massive portions of a boss’s health bar in a single attack. Against training dummies with around one million HP, it dealt incredibly high burst damage.
If you’re saving one skill for boss phases, this should be it.
Is Shadow Evolution Strong?
Based on its overall performance, Shadow Evolution feels like one of the strongest weapons currently available.
Some reasons include:
- Extremely high M1 damage.
- Multi-hit attacks that crit frequently.
- Strong mobility.
- Reliable healing.
- Devastating ultimate.
- Great performance against raids and bosses.
Even without an optimized build, the weapon already performs extremely well.
Why Critical Chance Matters
One thing that’s easy to overlook is just how many attacks Shadow performs during its combos.
Almost every ability contains multiple slash hits.
That means increasing your Critical Chance gives much more value than it would on slower weapons because every extra slash has another opportunity to crit.
If you’re building around Shadow Evolution, don’t ignore crit-related upgrades.
Best Trait for Shadow Evolution
After testing different options, Exalted looks like one of the strongest traits for Shadow.
Its bonuses include:
- Reduced skill cooldowns
- Increased skill damage
- Higher M1 damage
- Additional Critical Chance
Since Shadow relies heavily on chaining abilities together while landing repeated slashes, these bonuses work extremely well with its kit.
Lower cooldowns also let you cycle through your strongest moves much more often during raids.
This update gives Shadow players a meaningful upgrade rather than a simple stat increase. The combination of the new evolution, Shadow Raid, fresh materials, and powerful ultimate makes this one of the biggest Anime Final Quest updates in recent weeks.
Shadow Evolution feels like a complete package. It offers excellent damage, strong mobility, consistent critical hits, self-healing, and one of the strongest ultimates in the game. If you’re looking for a new main weapon, this one is definitely worth investing your time into.
