With Anime Paradox moving toward full release, unit value matters more than ever. Early access changed stats, passives, and evolutions multiple times, and some units that looked insane on day one fell off hard. This guide breaks down the current, realistic tier list based on actual gameplay performance, ease of use, and how well units scale into mid and late game.
Starter Tier
All Legendaries sit comfortably here. These units are not meant to carry late game, but they do their job extremely well early on and help you clear story, unlock content, and farm gems.
Asta fits nicely into this tier. He is consistent, does respectable damage, and doesn’t require complicated setups. He also has utility potential, which helps early progression feel smoother.
Megumin belongs here as well. She can feel strong early, but she is very replaceable. If you don’t pull her, you are not missing out on anything important.
Shadow Vampire is slightly better than Megumin overall, but still not a long-term carry. His value mostly comes from passives and support-style utility rather than raw damage.
These units exist to get you moving, not to define your account.
A Tier – Good Units
A-tier units are playable, useful, and sometimes even strong, but they all suffer from either scaling issues, awkward evolutions, or being outclassed by better options.
Itachi lands here because his role is done better by other units. He is usable, but Melleotus performs the same job more efficiently after the stat rework.
Melleotus used to be much stronger during early EA. After balance changes, he dropped into A tier. He’s still a solid unit, but no longer a top pick.
Uru also belongs here. He was strong during certain stat experiments but fell off after adjustments. His range and multi-hit still make him usable, especially as a first mythic.
Sephiroth sits high A tier. He is not bad at all, but compared to S-tier units, he lacks the raw impact needed to dominate late game content.
Sakura is a classic early-game support. Her healing is useful before you unlock better healers, but she becomes obsolete later.
Steel is a tank with potential, but Siege mode makes his evolution extremely painful. Until Siege is adjusted, his value stays limited.
Chahane is one of the weakest mythics right now. Her passives are underwhelming, and her evolution requirements are among the worst in the game.
S Tier – Meta
These units shape how you play the game. If you own them, progression becomes significantly easier.
Broly is one of the best mythics available. His wide AoE coverage makes him incredible for both story and infinite modes. He’s reliable, easy to use, and extremely efficient.
Kilawa is a top-tier boss killer with multiple abilities and strong control. Some players prefer him over Broly, others don’t, but both are unquestionably S tier.
Okiora is an elite unit thanks to his slow, boss control, and consistent damage. He fits into almost any team composition.
Frieza is a perfectly balanced S-tier unit. He doesn’t break the game, but he never feels weak. Good range, strong passives, and reliable damage make him a safe long-term investment.
Ichigo is one of the easiest secrets to obtain and one of the strongest. He has stuns, strong damage, and multiple abilities. Being able to place multiple copies without Eternal makes him absurdly flexible.
Cell is the best tank in the game right now. With proper traits, he can reach ridiculous HP values and soak massive damage. Even without Eternal, being able to place three makes him invaluable.
Support S Tier
Support units decide late-game success.
Orihime is the best healer in the game. Full healing with added utility makes her irreplaceable.
Idol is the opposite of Orihime. She focuses on damage buffs with secondary healing. Both are excellent, and which one you use depends on your team.
These two define survivability and damage scaling in harder content.
Secret Tier
Sid is the strongest unit in Anime Paradox. Full-map AoE alone puts him above almost everything else. If you pull Sid, you essentially skip difficulty checks.
Coyote rivals Sid in raw damage, but lacks full-map coverage. In some situations, Coyote outperforms Sid, but Sid’s AoE keeps him on top overall.
Sunjin Woo is one of the best secrets in the game. He synergizes incredibly well with Igris and dominates boss-heavy content.
Igris is extremely powerful but currently held back by Siege mode. If Siege is adjusted, he may rise even higher.
Farm Units
Farm units are not optional. You don’t bring them for damage; you bring them so your real units can exist.
Bulma is the best long-term farm unit. Higher cost, but superior value.
Speed Cart offers faster income early.
Lloyd and Rookie are cheap and effective for beginners.
This tier list reflects actual gameplay reality, not hype or theorycrafting. Balance changes may shift some placements, especially if Siege mode gets adjusted, but for now this is the safest roadmap for new players.
