The tension in Dark Auction’s bidding rooms isn’t just about the high stakes of the items up for grabs — it’s about piecing together shattered memories under pressure. Karla’s auction ramps up that challenge by asking players to reconstruct her grandfather’s past perfectly, with no room for error if you want those achievements. One misstep, and you’re back at the start, so your focus has to be razor sharp as you navigate through her memories and uncover her family’s link to Dictator X.
The third auction centers on Karla piecing together her grandfather’s memories to reveal secrets tied to Dictator X and claim the coveted Golden Gun. This auction breaks down into four distinct stages, each demanding precision and attention to detail as you reconstruct fragmented clues.
For the third auction we will be assistiing Karla as she must look through memories of her grandfather in order to learn his connection to Dictator X and get the Golden Gun which has been presented to the cast. Like the previous auctions this one will be split into four separate stages, each of which we have detailed below.
The first stage is all about dialogue choices that fill in missing puzzle pieces in the character’s memory. There are six specific items you need to identify correctly here to progress without error.
For the first stage you’ll need to make correct dialogue choices to fill in the empty puzzle pieces. There are six pieces to fill in during this stage. The correct choices to make are:
- Chess Book
- World Map
- Astrology Book
- Safe
- Glue Jar and Brush
- Chairman’s Chair
Stage two asks you to place the images gathered in the previous stage into a timeline, filling three blank spots accurately. This step ties the memories together chronologically, so precise placement is vital.
During the second stage you’ll need to fill in the blanks during the timeline pictured above with the images you obtained during the previous stage. There are three blank spaces during this stage, fill them in with the following information
- Fill space 1 with image 1 (The Table)
- Fill space 6 with image 3 (The Conference Room)
- Fill space 9 with image 2 (Karla’s Grandfather’s Study)
The third stage challenges you to spot timeline contradictions and correct them using your acquired knowledge. There are four contradictions during this auction, meaning you have to be extra careful with your choices to avoid a restart.
Then for the third stage you’ll need to find parts of the timeline you just constructed with contradict reality and use information you have to fix them. During this auction there are four different contradictions in the timeline. Here’s how you’ll fix them.
- Replace the “Chess Book” red dot on the 1st slide with Shroder’s Old Notebook
- Replace the “Glue Bottle and Brush” red dot on the 6th slide with X’s Envelope
- Replace the “Gold” red dot on the 9th slide with Files on Heiling Plans
In the final stage, you’ll need to utilize the memories fixed in the previous step to fill in blank spots on memory films. Completing this stage correctly lets you unlock and watch the remainder of the chapter uninterrupted.
Finally, you’ll need to use the memories you obtained in the previous stage to fill in the blank memories in the final stage of the auction. Here are all the blanks you’ll need to fill
- Use X’s Schedule Book on Film 1
- Use the Free Pass to X’s Territory on Film 3
- Use the DNA Sample Storage Capsule on Film 4
After assembling all these memories flawlessly, the full memory film plays out, revealing critical story details and rewarding your efforts. This careful reconstruction is key to securing the Golden Gun and the achievements linked to this auction.
