The Suburbs is easily one of the most confusing cases in Detective Duck—not because it’s hard, but because it throws in a lot of distractions. If you try to interact with everything, you’ll get lost. The key is knowing what actually matters and what the game is just using to mislead you.

Here’s the full step-by-step guide with all important clues, codes, and the final answer explained clearly.
Starting Area – Axe & Neighbor’s Yard
At the start, pick up the Axe, because this lets you access the neighbor’s area, which is required to progress.
Sack + Sand (Important Item)
In the neighbor’s yard, grab the sack and fill it with sand, since you’ll need this to deal with fire later.
You can dig with the shovel here, but it’s a distraction and doesn’t help with the main objective.
Enter the Brothers’ House
Find the key near the entrance and use it to enter the house, which belongs to two brothers:
- Alexander (Alex)
- Marcus
Put Out the Fire
Inside, use the sand-filled sack to extinguish the fire, which reveals a new area and allows you to continue exploring.
UV Clue (Ignore for Now)
Use your UV light and you’ll notice the word:
“STEEL”
This becomes important later as an authorization clue, but you don’t need to act on it immediately.
Key + Fingerprint Puzzle
Pick up the next key, then collect the fingerprint sample nearby and scan it, which opens the garage door.
Garage Clue – Code Hint
Inside the garage, you’ll find:
- A decoder
- A note saying:
“Code = number on the fridge + 1.4”
Fridge Code (101)
Go back to the fridge and you’ll see:
99.6
Now calculate:
99.6 + 1.4 = 101
So your code is:
101
Decoder Puzzle (706 & 965)
Return to the decoder and use clues from the house:
- Behind the painting (use UV) → 706
- Under the coffee (use UV) → 965
Enter both parts into the decoder to reveal:
- Transaction ID: 890
- Destination account: BLOX C123
Bloxy Bank ID (Important Item)
Pick up the Bloxy Bank ID, which allows you to access the bank later.
Alexander’s Room (Key Evidence)
In Alex’s room, you’ll find:
- A bank email
- Account number: BLOX C123
- A diary saying he suddenly received a large amount of money
At first glance, this makes Alex look suspicious—but this is actually a setup.
Bank Investigation
Go to the bank and investigate further:
- Transaction ID 890 matches the transfer
- Money was sent to BLOX C123 (Alex’s account)
- Logs show this transaction was hidden and unauthorized
Marcus’s Room (Critical Clue)
Now check Marcus’s room:
- You’ll find server equipment / decoder setup
- This shows he had the ability to hack and transfer funds
Also, the “STEEL” clue appears again, suggesting he had access to the authorization key.
Connecting the Story
Here’s what actually happened:
- Marcus works in IT at the bank
- He hacked the system and stole 500 million
- He used the authorization key (STEEL)
- He transferred the money to Alex’s account (BLOX C123)
- This was done to frame his brother
Correct Suspect
Even though Alex received the money, he had no idea about it.
The real culprit is:
Marcus
Ending the Investigation
Select Marcus as the suspect and confirm your choice to successfully complete the case.
Quick Recap
- Sand → Put out fire
- Fridge Code → 101
- Decoder Codes → 706 & 965
- Transaction ID → 890
- Account → BLOX C123
- Authorization Clue → STEEL
- Real Suspect → Marcus
This case is designed to trick you into blaming the wrong person. If you only look at where the money went, you’ll pick Alex—but if you follow how the money moved, it clearly leads back to Marcus.
