The arrival of Granny Itztil, the formidable shaman of the Masters of the Night-Wind, shakes things up in Genshin Impact. She’s here to challenge players with her fierce abilities, but there’s a neat twist – if you can present her with the right materials, you might just avoid a showdown. Gathering these special items isn’t just a chore; it’s a key step to unlocking the power that keeps her in check.
Character Mats
Elemental Gemstone
The backbone of Citlali’s ascension lies in the Shivada Jade gemstone series, perfectly suited for her Cryo affinity. You’ll need:
- Shivada Jade Sliver: 1
- Shivada Jade Fragment: 9
- Shivada Jade Chunk: 9
- Shivada Jade Gemstone: 6
These stones form the essential material line for promoting Citlali. While it feels a bit unremarkable given it’s standard Cryo fare, these gems are crucial; missing them will seriously stall your progress.

Honestly, it’s quite expected for a Cryo-based character to rely on Shivada Jade. No surprises here, but it’s efficient and familiar territory for most players.
Talent Book
Citlali’s talents require the Kindling series of talent books. These can be farmed from domains available on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday:
- Kindling Sliver: 9
- Kindling Fragment: 63
- Kindling Cluster: 114
It’s curious that these fire-themed books power a Cryo character, but it ties into the Masters of the Night-Wind’s theme of igniting inner spirit magic. Planning your farming days accordingly will save you a lot of time.

(Tuesday/Friday/Sunday)
Interesting that the talent book associated with fire goes to the Cryo character, but I guess it’s more thematic with how the Masters of the Night-Wind “ignite” the power within people (spirit magic).
Regional Specialty
Citlali’s regional specialty is the Quenepa Berry. This rare resource pops up in clusters of three, making collection manageable. If you’re keen on farming efficiently, planting Quenepa Berries in your Serenitea Pot yields around 24 berries every two days, a steady supply without the usual grind. For those exploring, knowing their spawn locations can help complement your home-grown stocks.
This is the same material as Kachina. They grew in groups of 3 so it shouldn’t be too bad to farm them. Plus, you can grow them in your teapot so that’s 24 every 2 days. Easy peasy. But here’s a link to their locations anyway.
Monster Drops
The Saurian Fangs series are vital monster drops for Citlali, but fair warning, they can be a bit frustrating to farm. You need:
- Saurian Fang: 36
- Saurian Fang Fragment: 96
- Saurian Fang Chunk: 129
If you have any sense of mercy for your in-game critters, this part might test it. The Saurians certainly aren’t the most willing participants here.
96
129
If there was any reason not to go for Citlali, it would be because of these. I think I’m gonna start a PETS organization. Players for the Ethical Treatment of Saurians. THEY HAVE RIGHTS TOO!
Overworld Boss Drop
The Talisman of the Enigmatic Land is the drop from the new overworld boss, the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker. This mysterious entity adds an intriguing layer to Citlali’s upgrade path. At the moment, details about the boss remain scarce, but securing this talisman is crucial: you need 46 of them to progress.
Drop from the new boss, the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker. Don’t really know much about it right now. You could say that they are a mystery of sorts.
Weekly Boss Drop
Citlali’s talents are also boosted using the Denial And Judgement material, which drops from the weekly boss fight against Arlecchino. Luckily, since this boss has been around a while, players typically don’t have to wait the usual 8-9 weeks to farm enough mats to max out her talents. You’ll require 18 total.
Drop from the Arlecchino boss fight. Always nice when the weekly boss mats are from an older boss. Means you don’t have to wait 8-9 weeks to max her talents (if you so desire).
Starcaller’s Watch Mats (Signature Weapon)
Domain Drop
Her signature weapon, Starcaller’s Watch, demands materials from the Sacred Lord series. These drop in the same domain as her talent books, also available on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. You’ll need:
- Sacred Lord Sliver: 5
- Sacred Lord Fragment: 14
- Sacred Lord Chunk: 14
- Sacred Lord Gemstone: 6
It’s a bit inconvenient that both weapon and talent domains share timing, but grouping these farming sessions can actually streamline your upgrade process.

(Tuesday/Friday/Sunday)
So that’s both Mavuika and Citlali whose weapons and talent book domains are on the same day. That’s annoying.
Monster Drops 1
You’ll also need the Will Talisman series from the tricky Wayobs enemies. The drop quantities are:
- Will Talisman Fragment: 23
- Will Talisman Cluster: 27
- Will Talisman Gemstone: 41
These items can feel inconsistent to farm, with some material parts seeming easier to obtain than others, but overall they’re a manageable hurdle in Citlali’s path.
27
41
These are the items from the Wayobs. Honestly, I find them to be a bit of a mixed bag. Some seem easier than others. Not sure why.
Monster Drops 2
The Saurian-Crowned Warrior’s Whistle collection involves defeating Sauroform Tribal Warriors, which are abundant throughout Natlan. Their availability is boosted by their frequent role in daily quests, which means you should have a healthy stockpile. You’ll need:
- Whistle Fragment: 15
- Whistle Cluster: 23
- Whistle Gemstone: 27
Thanks to their ubiquity, this is one of the easier monster drop lines to farm compared to some others.
23
27
Sauroform Tribal Warriors are literally everywhere in Natlan. Plus, they are probably the most common enemy for daily quests so you should probably have more than enough of these to go around.
