At a Glance: Prioritise Wilson to Level 80 first, as his second skill generates recurring Master Emblems to fund every other upgrade. Take Pan to Level 40 or 60 depending on your kingdom’s research age, push Valora to Level 50 for Bear rewards, and park Guinevere at Level 30 while entirely ignoring low-yield options like Aena.

This Kingshot masters upgrade guide covers the essential progression tiers required to maximize your stats efficiently. Leveling Masters demands substantial resource management, and spreading materials thin across the board will stall your kingdom’s competitive growth. Success hinges largely on targeting the precise skill milestones that support your primary alliance events without wasting high-tier currency.

The current roster features eight unique figures, each catering to different game modes and playstyles:

  • Valora: Specialized Bear rally captain.
  • Pan: Free-to-play economic foundation.
  • Roman: Competitive Arena specialist.
  • Cassia: High-investment luxury option.
  • Guinevere: Swordland warfare tactician.
  • Wilson: Universal resource and emblem accelerator.
  • Isnor: Charm farming and event modifier.
  • Aena: Caravan transport utility.

Building an effective roster requires knowing where the diminishing returns set in for each character. Pushing every hero to their arbitrary ceiling wastes vital materials on incremental percentage gains that rarely decide battles.

Establishing an optimal progression path requires evaluating your current alliance tier, your daily schedule, and your overall spending profile. Identifying which milestones provide immediate account power allows you to bypass secondary perks.

Before spending any shards, evaluate whether your account needs immediate combat rallies or sustained economic yields. Selective upgrading always outperforms a balanced approach because Master skills follow steep unlock thresholds.

Your server’s operational age determines your immediate roadmap. Check your kingdom status for access to the following milestones:

  • Swordland League
  • War Academy
  • Advanced Research

A common mistake is investing early into Cassia. She remains the single most expensive Master to develop, yet her stat gains and battlefield bonuses offer poor returns relative to the massive investment she demands.

If you want the quickest path to optimal power, focus strictly on the minimum threshold targets outlined below. These specific cutoffs capture the majority of each Master’s value while keeping shard consumption manageable.

Pan features four distinct growth skills, three of which offer outstanding economic return. Deciding how far to build him comes down to your current state progression and resource needs.
Consider whether your city relies heavily on free Training Grounds supplies every reset. If maximizing complimentary rewards matters for your routine, Pan’s first skill is an absolute requirement.

Evaluate whether your core infrastructure is lagging behind the state curve. Falling behind on building levels creates serious bottlenecks in higher-tier troop production.
While Pan’s third skill shortens construction timers, hoarding raw Speedups through event rewards provides a far better return. Players who already manage their construction timers well can safely leave this skill untouched.

Kingdoms that have unlocked Advanced Research should treat Pan’s first skill as a mandatory maximum upgrade. Without that feature active on your server, pushing for the cap is entirely unnecessary.
For kingdoms that have not yet unlocked Advanced Research, leaving Pan at Level 40 is ideal. This milestone provides sufficient daily throughput without tying up mid-game materials.
Reaching Level 40 lets you complete your daily chores well before the 08:00 UTC server reset. It also unlocks stable resource delivery via the Golden Glaive perk at an accessible cost.
Stopping at Level 10 might seem tempting for low spenders, but class thresholds gate your total potential. You cannot push the first skill to rank 4 on Acquaintance rank alone without hitting the level prerequisite.
Hard skill caps require unlocking adjacent abilities, some of which require progress across expensive characters like Cassia. Once Advanced Research arrives in your state, advance Pan to Level 60 immediately to remove those gates.
Reaching Level 60 allows you to max his first skill without getting distracted by higher chest quotas. The extra rewards past this tier do not justify the sharp increase in shard costs.

A closer look at the chest economy reveals why stopping at 60 makes mathematical sense:

  • Level 60: Yields 22 daily chests.
  • Level 100: Yields 30 daily chests.

Gaining those extra 8 chests requires 175 additional Master Shards, outstripping the entire cost of the journey from 1 to 60.

Climbing from Level 1 to 60 costs 105 shards, whereas climbing from 60 to 100 burns another 175 shards. Allocating those 175 shards to other roster members creates far greater account-wide momentum.
Target Pan Level 40 if your kingdom lacks Advanced Research. Shift to Pan Level 60 the moment Advanced Research unlocks to maximize his daily return.
Valora serves primarily as your anchor for Bear events. Bringing her to Level 50 creates an ideal baseline, allowing you to secure top-tier alliance damage crates and complete your TG milestones comfortably.
At Level 50, both the Extra Hammer and Extra XP perks can be pushed to Level 4. This setup awards four bonus hammers per run and guarantees a minimum haul of 20 hammers once you hit 9.6B damage on Bear.
Level 50 also elevates Valora’s first skill to rank 7, providing an extra 210,000 Rally Capacity. Unlocking her fourth skill at Level 40 also serves as a required cross-prerequisite for Pan’s fourth skill, making Valora Level 50 the gold standard.
Roman focuses entirely on competitive Arena combat and currency generation. His first and fourth skills offer marginal combat advantages that only shine if your team relies heavily on buffing minions, though taking his first skill to Level 4 provides an efficient 8% lift.
Roman’s real value lies in his passive rewards. His second skill boosts daily and weekly Arena Token payouts, while his third skill generates discounted items in the shop, including occasional bundles of Mithril and Golden Gear.
Pushing Roman to Level 30 lets you bring both the second and third skills to rank 4. This unlocks a 20% bonus to your daily Arena Tokens alongside an extra discounted vendor slot on every refresh.
Maintaining a top 100 to 200 Arena ranking alongside Roman’s token multipliers guarantees enough currency to purchase Mithril or Golden Gear weekly. Optimizing daily ticket timing right before the reset is essential to maximizing these passive gains.
Stop at Roman Level 30 if you are playing free-to-play or spending modestly. Dedicated combat spenders aiming for consistent top-50 brackets can justify pushing to Level 50 or 60 to maximize shop roll odds.
Wilson is the single most valuable Master in the game. His unique skill set reduces the resource burden for every other Master upgrade, making him the top priority across all spending tiers.
Wilson’s second skill provides bonus Alliance Championship Tokens and inserts valuable upgrade materials into the seasonal shop. Maxing this ability accelerates the upgrade speed of your entire current and future roster.
Maxing his second skill yields up to 15 Master Emblems per cycle, adding up to 80 bonus emblems across a standard KvK campaign. Reaching this rank requires Wilson Level 80 (Class 9), which costs 216 Emblems—an accessible milestone considering the sustained return.
Spenders should look at the $25 Frontier Encounter Pack, which delivers 100 shards to fast-track this milestone. Level 80 also unlocks rank 9 on his third skill, raising your rank during the Viking Event to yield bonus Satin Thread.
Players working on tight budgets can pause temporarily at Level 40 to hold rank 7 on both growth abilities. However, stopping early only delays account growth; maxing his second skill to rank 10 pays for itself faster than any other game system.
Aim for a baseline of Wilson Level 40, with Level 80 as your primary objective and Level 90 as the ultimate milestone. With Wilson established, turn your attention to Guinevere for regional battlefield performance.
Guinevere operates as the premier warfare commander for Swordland. Unlike Cassia, she provides tremendous utility for smaller spenders and free-to-play players entirely through her first two perks.
Guinevere’s first skill increases your Swordland Token income from matches and seasonal leaderboards. This expanded budget lets you purchase Artisan Visions consistently from the event exchange, even if your alliance loses the battle.
Her second skill instantly recovers between 100,000 and 1,000,000 fallen troops during active combat rounds. This emergency pool prevents your garrisons from running dry during sustained skirmishes.

Free battlefield healing allows under-strength players to maintain full offensive rallies without bleeding their home reserves dry. Surprise reinforcements often disrupt hostile marches targeting what appeared to be an empty settlement.
Guinevere’s third and fourth skills confer static combat stats and expanded Rally Capacity. Keep in mind that these passive combat boosts function strictly within Swordland and will not apply to standard world-map warfare.

Reaching Level 20 (Acquaintance 2) lets you elevate both her token bonus and battlefield recovery to rank 4, providing an instant 40% currency boost and respectable medical reserves.
Once Wilson has reached his recommended milestones, upgrading Guinevere to Level 30 (Acquaintance 3) is the next logical step. The additional currency unlocks at this tier substantially improve your event efficiency.
At Level 30, her first skill reaches rank 6, granting a permanent 60% increase to earned Swordland Tokens from match results and alliance leaderboards, while unlocking her third passive combat skill.
Advancing Guinevere naturally provides roughly 0.6% Health and Lethality across your forces. That approaches Cassia’s 0.8% baseline bonus at a fraction of the emblem cost, making Guinevere Level 30 an exceptional budget investment.
The standard recommendation is Guinevere Level 30 before pausing to bank materials for Isnor. Meanwhile, Aena occupies the opposite end of the priority spectrum.
Aena centers around caravan mechanics, but her actual gameplay impact remains severely undertuned. Unless you are completing an endgame roster with surplus funds, she provides virtually nothing for standard account progression.
Dedicated spenders can pick up her early levels for completion, but ordinary accounts will see no noticeable improvement in military or economic output by building her.
Place Aena at the absolute bottom of your upgrade queue. Her skill tree is inefficient across the board, featuring minimal economic impact on the first three tiers.

Aena’s kit suffers from poor individual scaling:

  • Skill 1: Extremely negligible utility.
  • Skill 2: Underwhelming resource impact.
  • Skill 3: Subpar transport returns.
  • Skill 4: Modest utility locked behind prohibitive prerequisites.

Accessing her fourth skill requires burning 65,490 Affinity alongside 80 Master Emblems. Committing those materials to an auxiliary caravan perk instead of Wilson or Valora severely sets back your combat baseline.
Aena does not offer Health or Lethality bonuses on her base profile, offering only flat Attack and Defense stats. Given these weak modifiers, spending rare emblems here is entirely counterproductive.
Leave Aena at Level 0 until every other Master reaches their target milestones. Diverting even a single emblem into her kit represents an efficiency loss for your account.
Isnor governs the Eternity Reach mode and Charm resource gathering. Bringing him to Class 5 (Casual 1 / Level 40) unlocks his third and fourth skills, boosting your passive Charm returns without requiring constant leaderboard sweat.
At Level 40, his passive rewards match or exceed the payouts earned from previous high-rank tournament finishes. The fourth skill stabilizes your baseline rewards even if you spend less time competing actively.
Stacking the third skill, fourth skill, and modest leaderboard rewards generates a steady flow of Charm upgrades. This setup produces consistent progression while saving your combat speedups for critical state conflicts.
Without investing into Isnor’s first and second skills, holding high positions against dedicated spenders will be challenging. However, fundamental event mechanics allow you to maintain respectable tier rewards without overspending.
