Mixtape offers players more than just fast-paced chapter completion or skating challenges. One achievement stands out for its mystery and discovery: Grunge Metal Alchemist. It hinges on crafting a hidden slushie recipe that you won’t even realize exists until late in the game, making it a fascinating puzzle for those who enjoy uncovering every secret.
During the early chapter called Ultimate Slushie , you get to prepare slushies for Stacey and Slater. You have eight flavor options with complete freedom to mix as many as you want, in any amount. While each combination triggers unique dialogue, only one specific mix unlocks Slater’s Secret Slushy, tied directly to that elusive achievement.
The challenge is that you won’t discover the exact recipe until the Slater’s House chapter near the end of the story. So initially, you have to progress through most of the game without access to this secret, which explains why many players miss it on their first run.
Once you reach Slater’s House, check the wall next to his bed, where you’ll find several illustrations. Among them is one that reveals the true makeup of the Ultimate Slushie. This moment is key to finally nailing the recipe and unlocking the achievement.
After noting the recipe, you can either finish your current playthrough and return via Chapter Select to the Ultimate Slushie section or pull up the recipe through external means if you prefer unlocking it sooner. The important thing is crafting the slushie with these four flavors:
Now that we know the recipe, let’s finish up our first playthrough and then go back to the Ultimate Slushie chapter via Chapter Select, or alternatively you can earn it during your first playthrough via cheating and looking it up. All we have to do now is make a slushie out of the following flavors
- Blue Crush
- Bubblegum
- Orange
- Lime
The amount of each flavor doesn’t matter, just make sure all four are part of your mix. Completing the slushie triggers special dialogue that reveals the Ultimate Slushie’s true name and grants you the Grunge Metal Alchemist achievement instantly.
