After you’ve settled into the Noodle Bar, an important character, Thaddeus Carminus , will briefly visit and then disappear, setting off a chain of mysterious events that influence your storyline.
Days later, you’ll encounter Gideon, who seems to be manipulating Ava. This interaction prompts Ava to urge you to track Gideon down again so she can learn to defend herself.
Following Ava’s update, she uncovers Gideon’s location. Make your way to the Docks and ascend to the highest vantage point overlooking the boat docks, where you’ll find him.
Engage Gideon in seemingly aimless conversation until Ava comes through with a name: Alan Fontus.
Find Alan Fontus in the Eastern Residential. Be prepared for cryptic replies; he speaks mostly in riddles that offer little clarity. Your next step involves finding Gunger Hahn.
Conversations with Gunger Hahn don’t yield much useful information either. Soon after, Agent Teleshko arrives at the Noodle Bar demanding to see its documents. Ava promises to locate these later.
After this, the quest fades into the background. Progress through your business ventures until, around Day 60, you receive cryptic messages from Thaddeus.
These messages can be confusing, but they contain key instructions for your next move. Head back to the Noodle Bar, speak with Agent Teleshko, and tell him, “Your mom told Jaden what you did.” This phrase defuses the document dispute.
Ava will have a conversation with you afterward. Return to Banor at the Noodle Bar to talk, though he might not reveal much. More messages from Thaddeus will fill in the gaps over time.
As days pass, you’ll learn about a place called Egress. Revisiting Banor, you’ll hear about a ticket. Following this, a meeting with Huckstash sets a quest marker at the Metro Hub. Approaching the gate here reveals holographic figures of people at Egress.
Return to Huckstash and wait a few days. Ava eventually identifies herself as “the ticket,” prompting you to visit Egress once more, where you’ll find Thaddeus. His dialogue remains cryptic, and he asks for another meeting the next day.
On your second visit, Thaddeus requests your consent to share his memories, similar to others. Agreeing lets you leave Egress, and shortly after, a message explains the memory transfer failed—a conclusion that wraps up the Thaddeus Retirement quest.
Securing a Tier 1 and Tier 2 license involves meeting with Agent Teleshko. You’ll need to rent and upgrade venues to level 5 to obtain these licenses, laying the groundwork for acquiring more venues.
Each venue you upgrade to level 5 grants a respective license. The game encourages upgrading multiple venues to gather licenses, expanding your business portfolio.
The most demanding part is acquiring a Tier 4 license. There are only two Tier 4 venues, and to unlock your first Tier 4 license, you must rent and level up the Tier 3 venue Azure Breeze on Calypso Island.
With the Tier 4 license in hand, you can purchase exclusive venues like Fly In in Spire or Obsidian Noir in the Metro Hub.
Ava’s origins become a puzzle in themselves as you get cryptic messages hinting at impossible memories, since Ava is an Automata from a far future. This trajectory leads you to seek answers about her past.
Begin by talking to Gan Coilson, a cleaning bot you’ve met during an earlier Meridian Street quest. Afterward, await updates from Ava who will direct you to talk to Banor.
Following your conversation with Banor, sequentially connect with Huckstash, Alan Fontaine (note the variation from earlier "Fontus"), and Gunger. Next, consult Dr. Alken regarding Ava’s symptoms.
You’ll then need to seek additional leads by visiting Spire or Skyhigh Gardens to find Hepzibah Gimble. Her information prompts you to later visit JR Amiga in Central Canyon.
After a few days pass, Ava instructs you to check out a secret curfew-era book fair. Head to the Sewers, locate the active lift, and ride it to a clandestine gathering where speaking with three NPCs nets you a mysterious book.
After this, Ava asks you to reconnect with Hepzibah Gimble, then to find Nabla in the Industrial District. Nabla will advise waiting a day, then charges 1,000 Lims for their help.
Following Nabla’s instructions, you’ll meet McFellow in hiding after curfew at Metro Hub. McFellow sends you to visit Alexander in Skyhigh Gardens during the next curfew.
During the curfew in Skyhigh Gardens, find Alexander, who tells you to see Rollo in the Spire. At curfew, Rollo directs you to Nabla waiting in the Stacks.
Meeting Nabla again unveils crucial intel regarding LifeCorp and Ava. Post-discussion, Ava instructs another meeting with Hepzibah, revealing significant story layers, after which Ava needs time to process.
Eventually, Ava asks you to find her physical body in the Holocropolis. Head to Meridian Street and enter Holocropolis, then talk to Rosetta. Though she can’t help directly, she hints you should investigate the longstanding TheraPay bots.
At the Industrial District, locate and unplug the old Thera-Pay Bot to extract its solid-state drive. Take this drive to the Space Port and consult Rosco Foreman, who indicates a terminal capable of decrypting it.
The terminal is locked behind a code. Ava suggests returning to Gan Coilson to obtain the code.
With the code from Gan Coilson, head back to the Space Port terminal. Decrypting the drive reveals Ava is stored in a secret room inside Egress.
Make your way to Metro Hub and enter Egress through the now accessible gate. However, you’ll encounter a second locked gate, setting up the next challenge in this ongoing quest.
Go to the Skyhigh Gardens the next day and wait for curfew to begin. Find Alexander, and he’ll ask you to see Rollo in the Spire after curfew.
Now, you’ll have to head to the Spire before curfew and find Rollo once the curfew begins. He’ll tell you to meet Nabla in the Stacks after curfew.
When you meet with Nabla the next day, he’ll tell you a lot about LifeCorp and Ava. After your conversation with Nabla, Ava will ask you to meet with Hepzibah Gimble one more time.
The conversation with Hepzibah Gimble reveals a lot of information, and Ava needs some time to process it. Wait for a few days, and Ava will talk to you again, asking you to look for her body in the Holocropolis.
Head to Meridian Street and enter the Holocropolis. Talk to Rosetta here, and she’ll tell you that you can’t find what you’re looking for here. However, Rosetta will give you a hint, asking you to investigate the TheraPay bots, as those bots have been around for a long time.
Head to the Industrial District and look for the old Thera-Pay Bot. Once you find it, you can unplug it and acquire its solid-state drive. Go to the Space Port next and talk to Rosco Foreman. He’ll tell you there’s a terminal here that can decrypt the drive.
Go to the terminal location, but you’ll find it locked behind a code. Shortly, Ava will suggest going to Gan Coilson and asking him about the code.
After getting the code from Gan Coilson, return to the terminal in Space Port. As you interact with the device here, Ava will find out that she’s stored in a secret room in Egress.
Head to the Metro Hub and go down to Egress. There’s a gate here that you’ll be able to get through now. However, you’ll find another locked gate here.
