There are six new rods available during FischFright 3, and each one has a different unlock requirement. Four rods come from NPC quests or event progression, while the Dutchman’s Rod and Omniscient Spinecaster require players to complete rituals.

To get the Boglin Branch , start by talking to the Youngster Goblin near Beatrix’s Cauldron in Caustic Hallow. The quest tasks you with completing several challenges and gathering rare Boglin items like the Skull, Twig, and Wraps. The quest objectives are: Complete three Goblin Challenges on Normal difficulty or higher (green outline Goblins don’t count). Give 10 Witch’s Ingredients to the Youngster Goblin. Collect one Boglin Skull. Collect one Boglin Twig (sometimes called a Boglin Fang). Collect one set of Boglin Wraps.

The quest requires you to complete five objectives:

1. Complete three Goblin Challenges on Normal difficulty or higher. Easy Goblins with green outlines do not count toward this objective.

2. Give the Youngster Goblin 10 Witch’s Ingredients of any type.

3. Obtain one Boglin Skull.

4. Obtain one Boglin Twig. Some quest text may refer to this item as a Boglin Fang.

5. Obtain one set of Boglin Wraps.

Once you pass the three Normal-or-higher challenges, you can farm any Goblin difficulty for the remaining Boglin parts. Patience is key here since these items drop rarely and it might take multiple attempts to find all three.

Keep in mind that the Boglin Skull, Boglin Twig, and Boglin Wraps are rare drops. You may need to complete several rounds before obtaining all three items, so keep farming until the quest tracker confirms your progress.

For the Eldritch Rod , you need to power up Hex Energy by offering Witch’s Ingredients into Beatrix the Witch’s cauldron. The ingredients used for the Boglin quest also count here, so gathering those kills two birds with one stone. Reach Hex Energy Level 11 by interacting with the cauldron and offering ingredients one by one or all at once. As you build Hex Energy, rewards like Witch’s Pot furniture, the Coffin Bobber, and Black Licorice unlock along the way.

To begin, find Beatrix near her tree and approach her cauldron. Interact with it and select either “Offer Ingredient” or “Offer All Ingredients.” Every ingredient you offer adds one Hex Energy, and the game displays a message confirming the amount gained.

Continue offering ingredients until you reach Hex Energy Level 11. Once you meet the requirement, claim the Eldritch Rod from Beatrix. You will also receive other rewards as you progress through the Hex Energy levels, including Witch’s Pot furniture, the Coffin Bobber, and Black Licorice.

The Webweaver Rod is a treat for anyone mining the depths of Webridden Cavern. Webby Winston, an NPC inside the cavern, offers three quests you need to complete before purchasing the rod with 1,000 Treats—essentially making the rod free if you save your rewards. The three simultaneous quests require you to: Trick-or-treat at 16 different houses with your Candy Bucket. Catch 15 Cobweb Cod in the cavern’s green water. Catch 10 fish affected by the Webbed mutation inside the cavern.

Here are the requirements:

1. Trick-or-treat at 16 different houses while equipping the Candy Bucket. Visiting the same house multiple times will not count.

2. Catch 15 Cobweb Cod in the cavern’s green water.

3. Catch 10 fish with the Webbed mutation inside Webridden Cavern.

After completing all three quests, Webby Winston rewards you with 1,000 Treats. You can then use those Treats to purchase the Webweaver Rod from him for exactly 1,000 Treats.

This means you can obtain the rod without spending extra Treats from your existing balance, provided you save the entire quest reward. Make sure you do not spend those Treats on other event items before buying the rod.

Passive — Spider Web: Spiders appear while fishing approximately every 10 seconds and give nearby fish the Webbed mutation.

The Doomsekkar Rod unlocks by finishing Doomsekkar’s questline close to the Halloween graveyard. It combines fishing skill with event-specific challenges like catching spirits and perfect catches, pushing your expertise. Your objectives include: Catch 100 fish from the glowing Frightful Pools, which can be summoned with a Totem bought from the Flying Dutchman for 3,000 Treats. Land 50 Perfect Catches. Capture a haunted spirit at the correctly indicated haunted house in Caustic Hallow.

You need to complete the following three objectives:

1. Catch 100 fish from Frightful Pools. These are temporary glowing fishing pools that appear around the ocean during FischFright 3. You can purchase a Frightful Pool Totem from the Flying Dutchman for 3,000 Treats to force one to spawn.

2. Land 50 Perfect Catches while fishing.

3. Capture the haunted spirit inside the correct haunted house in Caustic Hallow.

The first two objectives can be completed at the same time, so keep fishing in Frightful Pools while aiming for Perfect Catches to make progress toward both requirements.

How to Capture the Haunted Spirit

To catch the haunted spirit, wait for the in-game alert of a haunted house spawning. Locate the one with a glowing green number, equip your Candy Bucket, knock on the door, and engage the spirit until capture completes. You’ll be teleported to a special area where you exit using your Magic Mirror.

After finishing all tasks, return to Doomsekkar to collect the rod and earn 3,000 Treats as a bonus.

Follow these steps to capture the spirit:

1. Equip your Candy Bucket before approaching the haunted house.

2. Knock on the door and select either available dialogue option.

3. Keep your cursor on the ghost until the capture process is complete.

4. Once the spirit is captured, you will be teleported to a special area.

5. Use your Magic Mirror to leave the area and return to the main game.

After completing all three objectives, return to Doomsekkar to claim the rod and receive an additional 3,000 Treats.

The Doomsekkar Rod features outstanding Luck at 275%, solid Lure Speed, and unlimited max weight. Its resilience, however, is a shocking -666%, meaning it’s notably fragile under pressure and less forgiving for tough catches, so use it with caution.
