Getting all six rods can take some time because several quests involve rare fish, mutated items, and hidden event mechanics. This guide explains how to unlock the Boglin Branch, Eldritch, Webweaver, Doomsekkar, Dutchman’s Rod, and Omniscient Spinecaster, including their stats and passive abilities.
There are six unique rods to collect throughout the event, each requiring different approaches. Four come from quests scattered across Caustic Hallow, while two demand completing special rituals, pushing your skills and patience. Unlocking each rod offers distinct advantages, boosting your fishing prowess for both casual and serious players.
There are six new rods available during FischFright 3, and each one has a different unlock requirement. Four rods come from NPC quests or event progression, while the Dutchman’s Rod and Omniscient Spinecaster require players to complete rituals.
Here is a quick overview of all six rods:
- Boglin Branch: Finish the Youngster Goblin questline.
- Eldritch Rod: Reach Hex Energy Level 11 by feeding ingredients to Beatrix’s cauldron.
- Webweaver Rod: Complete Webby Winston’s trio of quests then buy it with Treats.
- Doomsekkar Rod: Complete Doomsekkar’s fishing challenges and catch a haunted spirit.
- Dutchman’s Rod: Perform the Dutchman’s Blessing Ritual.
- Omniscient Spinecaster: Finish the Omniscient Ritual, the toughest of all.
How to Get the Boglin Branch in Fisch
You’ll get the Boglin Branch by following the Youngster Goblin’s questline near Beatrix’s Cauldron in Caustic Hallow. The journey starts when you speak to the goblin, then dive into several tasks and collect three elusive Boglin parts before claiming this rod.
The quest tasks are:
- Finish three Goblin Challenges on Normal difficulty or higher — easy challenges with green outlines don’t count.
- Give 10 Witch’s Ingredients of any kind to the Youngster Goblin.
- Find one Boglin Skull.
- Collect one Boglin Twig (sometimes labeled as Boglin Fang).
- Gather one set of Boglin Wraps.
Once those three Normal-or-higher challenges are done, farming for the Boglin Skull, Twig, and Wraps can be done on any difficulty, including easy. However, these parts drop rarely, so expect some repeated farming until your quest tracker confirms completion.
Keep in mind that the Boglin Skull, Boglin Twig, and Boglin Wraps are rare drops. You may need to complete several rounds before obtaining all three items, so keep farming until the quest tracker confirms your progress.
Boglin Branch Rod Stats
The Boglin Branch shines with a high Luck stat and solid Lure Speed, perfect for boosting your chance at rare catches during the event. Its max weight capacity handles huge fish up to 550,000 kg, so you can fish with confidence even against hefty opponents.
- Lure Speed: 80%
- Luck: 180%
- Control: 0.05
- Resilience: 20%
- Max Kg: 550,000 kg
How to Get the Eldritch Rod in Fisch
To unlock the Eldritch Rod, you’ll contribute Witch’s Ingredients to Beatrix’s cauldron near her tree in Caustic Hallow. This overlaps with the Boglin Branch’s ingredient needs, so collecting these simultaneously is a smart move to save time.
Interact with Beatrix’s cauldron and choose “Offer Ingredient” or “Offer All Ingredients.” Each addition raises your Hex Energy by one. Keep an eye on the messages confirming your Hex Energy progress until you hit Level 11, the unlock threshold.
After reaching Level 11, you can claim the Eldritch Rod along with other rewards like Witch’s Pot furniture, the Coffin Bobber, and Black Licorice as you climb Hex Energy levels.
Eldritch Rod Stats
The Eldritch Rod boasts excellent stats for anglers targeting rare fish and comes with an infinite weight capacity. This lets you reel in even the heaviest catches without worry.
- Lure Speed: 90%
- Luck: 230%
- Control: 0.05
- Resilience: 15%
- Max Kg: Infinite
How to Get the Webweaver Rod in Fisch
Webby Winston, located inside Webridden Cavern beneath Caustic Hallow, offers three quests before selling you the Webweaver Rod. Thankfully, these tasks can be tackled all at once, letting you multitask efficiently.
Your challenges with Webby include:
- Trick-or-treat at 16 unique houses using the Candy Bucket (repeats don’t count).
- Catch 15 Cobweb Cod inside the cavern’s green water.
- Catch 10 fish with the Webbed mutation within Webridden Cavern.
Completing all three quests nets you 1,000 Treats, which you can immediately use to purchase the Webweaver Rod. Just be sure not to spend those Treats on other event items first!
This means you can obtain the rod without spending extra Treats from your existing balance, provided you save the entire quest reward. Make sure you do not spend those Treats on other event items before buying the rod.
Webweaver Rod Stats and Passive
The Webweaver Rod offers very high Luck and a 125% Lure Speed. Its signature advantage is the Spider Web passive, where spiders spawn every 10 seconds or so during fishing and cause nearby fish to gain the Webbed mutation, boosting your chances of rare catches.
- Lure Speed: 125%
- Luck: 250%
- Control: 0.03
- Resilience: 10%
- Max Kg: Infinite
Passive — Spider Web: Spiders spawn every 10 seconds during fishing, inflicting the Webbed mutation on nearby fish.
How to Get the Doomsekkar Rod in Fisch
You earn the Doomsekkar Rod by finishing Doomsekkar’s tasks near the Halloween graveyard outside Webridden Cavern. This questline involves fishing, landing Perfect Catches, and capturing a haunted spirit during a special event.
The specific objectives are:
- Catch 100 fish in Frightful Pools — temporary glowing pools around the ocean. You can spawn one yourself for 3,000 Treats from the Flying Dutchman using a Frightful Pool Totem.
- Land 50 Perfect Catches while fishing.
- Capture the haunted spirit inside the specified haunted house in Caustic Hallow.
You can progress on catching fish and Perfect Catches simultaneously by fishing in Frightful Pools, maximizing efficiency in this questline.
How to Capture the Haunted Spirit
The haunted spirit challenge activates when a server message announces a haunted house’s appearance. Look for a house glowing with a green number—that’s your target.
Steps to capture the spirit:
- Equip your Candy Bucket before approaching the haunted house.
- Knock on the door and select either dialogue option available.
- Keep your cursor on the ghost until the capture finishes.
- You’ll be teleported to a special area upon capture.
- Use the Magic Mirror to exit back to the main game.
After finishing these, return to Doomsekkar to claim your rod and an extra 3,000 Treats as a reward.
Doomsekkar Rod Stats and Passive
The Doomsekkar Rod offers a massive 275% Luck and 100% Lure Speed with no max weight limit. Yet, it comes with one unusual downside: a -666% Resilience stat, which means it’s less forgiving when facing difficult fish fights. Keep this in mind if tackling boss-level catches.
- Lure Speed: 100%
- Luck: 275%
- Control: 0.1
- Resilience: -666%
- Max Kg: Infinite
Passive — Pumpkin Bombs: Small pumpkin bombs spawn during fishing, boosting your Progress Speed when fish approach them. This passive can also apply the Doomsekkar mutation to fish, adding an extra layer to your fishing strategy.
