Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Future Characters Guide

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds adds Red, Majima, and Arle with new events and music in spring 2026.

Sega’s Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is gearing up for a vibrant spring 2026, expanding its roster with unique characters that bring new energy to the race. This influx of fresh content is more than just cosmetic—each addition ignites excitement over how diverse franchises are crossing paths in this kart racer.

The most unexpected newcomer is Red from Angry Birds. After Sega’s acquisition of Rovio in 2023, this felt like a natural crossover despite being surprising to some. Red’s presence adds a playful twist to the lineup, blending the world of Sonic with one of mobile gaming’s most iconic flocks.

In May, Captain Majima from the Like a Dragon series arrives, specifically his version from Like a Dragon 8 Gaiden: Pirates in Hawaii. While fans hoping for his classic Yakuza look might be disappointed, incorporating his latest design keeps the game current with the newest series installment.

June’s addition is a fan favorite: Arle from Puyo Puyo. She’s one of Sega’s most requested characters for Sonic Racing, especially given the limited crossover references between Puyo Puyo and Sonic’s world despite past cameos. Her inclusion feels like a well-deserved nod to longtime Sega fans.

Each character will debut monthly—Red in April, Majima in May, and Arle rounding out June. Expect dedicated in-game events and customizable decals to celebrate their arrivals, adding layers of personalization and keeping gameplay fresh through these seasonal drops.

Complementing the new racers, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will also launch a “SEGA Racing & Variety” music pack. This collection features classic tunes from SEGA arcade legends like OutRun and Sega Rally Championship, enriching the audio experience while racing across various tracks.

Available now on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is positioning itself as the go-to multiplayer kart racer for SEGA fans. These upcoming updates promise to keep the excitement clock ticking well into 2026.
