The Sinking City 2 thrives on that classic thrill of decoding cryptic notes and clues to unlock hidden safes tucked away in its eerie world. Whether you’re searching for extra ammo, vital healing items, or just curious about what secrets lie behind the locks, nailing these combinations early can save frustration later. These puzzles often blend subtle storytelling with practical rewards, making them a must-know aspect of the experience.

The Sinking City 2 Safe Combinations

Scattered through the game’s chapters are six safes or vaults locked behind four-digit codes. Each combination can be uncovered by reading nearby notes or solving riddles. Below, we list every safe’s location and code in the chronological order you’ll encounter them, helping you breeze through these puzzles without missing out on valuable items.

12 Garrison Street Safe

During the tutorial chapter titled A New Day, you’ll find this safe on the second floor of 12 Garrison Street. The note stapled to the safe, “To Martin,” hints that the combination relates to the owner’s “proudest, most miraculous moment.” This clue encourages close inspection of the surrounding area for further hints.

Nearby, in the adjoining Radio Shop, a note called “From A Sister” reveals the shop opened 21 years ago. Since the game takes place in 1929, subtracting 21 from 1929 gives you the combination for the safe.

The first code you need is therefore 1908. Inside the safe, expect to find some useful Dolorocide Pills and 14 handgun bullets — an early boost for your inventory.

Church Floodgate Puzzle

In the Church area, while the Trident and Obelisk grab more attention, your true path forward requires opening a locked floodgate. It uses a combination lock that you must crack to proceed.

A note lying next to the deceased floodgate attendant states the code is the year the church’s bell was cast. Unfortunately, the bell itself isn’t visible in the environment, so you must rely on document clues instead.

Two notes, “Origins of the Redemption Church” and “Report on the Bell,” provide the key details: the church was founded in 1667, and the bell was installed five years later.

Adding five years leads to the code 1672, letting you open the floodgate and advance.

Devil’s Reef Safe Combination

On the third floor of Devil’s Reef, you’ll spot a safe quickly after arriving. However, you’ll need the Staff Key first to access the note revealing this safe’s combination.

The note refers to the song “Baby, One More Tide,” whose lyrics hint at the combination by counting limbs mentioned in each line. The first lyric’s reference to bat wings means the first number is 2, since bats have two wings.

This decoding yields a safe combination of 2137.

Akeley Hospital Vault Combination

In the Storage Room basement of Akeley Hospital lies a vault secured by a four-digit code. Unlike previous safes, this one requires collecting four separate notes scattered inside the hospital. Each note provides a specific number and order to reveal the full combination.

Once all four are located, the code you input is 1308. Inside, you’ll find abundant ammo, crafting materials, and an important new attachment for your submachine gun — a valuable upgrade heading into the hospital’s climax.

Arkham Fish Market Salt Storage Code

Arkham Fish Market Salt Storage Code

In the fish market’s Cutting Area, you’ll encounter a sizeable door locked with a code displayed in Roman numerals. Piecing together notes about Sybil’s investigation and maritime punishments reveals the number sequence needed.

The code derived from matching punishments to instructions is I IV IX XVI. This room grants access to a grenade launcher attachment and a Dream Essence, rewards worth securing if you can handle its defenses.

Arkham Fish Market Locker Room Safe

A note inside the Salt Storage tells you the locker room safe in the Fish Market shares the same code. However, entering “16” from the Roman numeral “XVI” doesn’t work since the lock only accepts four digits, none higher than 9.

Thankfully, another note clarifies that the last number should be 6, not 16, adjusting the code accordingly to 1496. This subtlety trips up players who rush straight to the lock without thoroughly reading.
