Time Broke, also known as Frostmaw, is the final and most complex fight in Chapter 5 of Block Tales. This is not a simple damage race. It is a mechanics-heavy survival fight where positioning, targeting, and control matter more than raw stats.

Block Tales Chapter 5 Final Boss Guide: How to Defeat Time Broke

  • HP: 280
  • Defense: 3
  • Location: Seventh Sanctum
  • Special Traits:
    • Flying
    • Double Turns
    • Shield mechanic
    • Summons allies
  • Important Condition: Keep Cassie alive or you lose instantly

What Makes This Fight Hard

This boss stacks multiple mechanics together:

  1. Double turns
  2. Summons enemies
  3. AOE attacks that hit your whole team
  4. Flying vs Grounded phases
  5. Status effects (Burn, Frozen, Confusion)
  6. Shield system (reduces incoming damage)

You are not meant to brute-force this fight.

Mechanics

1. Call for Help (First Priority)

  • Summons multiple enemies (Basher, Magwalker, Chosen)
  • These overwhelm you quickly if ignored

Rule:
Kill adds immediately or you will get overrun.

2. Cassie Survival Condition

  • If Cassie dies → Game Over
  • Fireball attacks often target her

Rule:
Cassie is your top priority, not damage.

3. Flying vs Grounded Phases

Flying Phase:

  • Uses Tornado and Fireballs
  • Harder to control
  • More AOE damage

Grounded Phase:

  • Uses Chomp, Ice Breath, Temper
  • Easier to manage
  • More predictable

Rule:
Grounding the boss makes the fight significantly easier.

4. Fireballs (Most Dangerous Move)

  • Hits target 3 times (~6 each)
  • Applies Burn
  • If player is hit → entire team takes damage

Critical Detail:
If Cassie is targeted and hit, your team is safer than if YOU are hit.

Rule:
Avoid being the primary target of Fireballs.

5. Shield Mechanic

  • Reduces incoming damage
  • Makes burst strategies weaker

Rule:
Focus on control and survival, not rushing damage.

Moves Breakdown

High Threat

  • Fireballs: Team-wide damage + Burn
  • Ice Breath: AOE + Freeze
  • Temper: Multi-hit + Confusion

Medium Threat

  • Tornado: ~18–20 damage
  • Chomp: ~10 damage + drain

Fight Control Move

  • Call for Help: Spawns enemies

Step-by-Step Winning Strategy

Step 1: Opening Turn (Most Important Setup)

  • Boss usually uses Call for Help
  • Immediately switch focus to adds
  • Do NOT attack boss yet

Step 2: Clear Adds Fast

  • Eliminate summoned enemies first
  • If left alive, they will stack damage quickly
  • Keep Cassie protected while doing this

Step 3: Stabilize Your Team

  • Heal burn damage
  • Remove confusion if possible
  • Keep everyone above safe HP

Step 4: Control the Boss Phase

  • Try to force or wait for grounded phase
  • Grounded = easier attacks
  • Flying = more dangerous AOE

Step 5: Manage Fireballs Properly

  • Do NOT let your main character take hits
  • Keep HP high before Fireball turns
  • Be ready to heal immediately after

Step 6: Damage Windows

  • Attack boss ONLY when:
    • No adds are alive
    • Team HP is stable
    • Cassie is safe

Slow, controlled damage wins.

Step 7: Repeat Safely

  • Adds spawn again → repeat clearing
  • Stay patient
  • Do not rush

Time Broke is a control fight, not a DPS fight.

Players lose because they rush. Players win because they stay disciplined.

If you manage adds, protect Cassie, and play patiently, this boss becomes consistent instead of overwhelming.
