- Dispatch
Dispatch sets you deep into a web of choices that ripple through every episode, with your relationship to Invisigal shaping the destiny of the Z-Team. Deciding her path as hero or villain doesn’t just affect the final scene—it’s a reflection of how you’ve guided her from the earliest moments.
Spoiler Alert: This article dives into Dispatch’s multiple endings, revealing the outcomes for key characters like Shroud, Invisigal, and the Z-Team based on player decisions throughout the game.
Contrary to popular belief, Dispatch doesn’t save its ending decision for the very last episode. Instead, it uses an ongoing hidden score called the RMC (Robert Mentor Counter) tracking your every positive or negative interaction with Invisigal from episode 2 onward. Help her hack cameras, defend her during team interactions, and send her on successful missions to boost this score. Achieving around 45 points or more unlocks the good ending, while falling short locks you into the bad ending.
The Two Main Story Endings
Ultimately, Dispatch boils down to one big question: Does Invisigal rise as a hero or fall as a villain? Your guidance steers this outcome.
1. The Good Mentor Ending (Heroic Invisigal)
In the good ending, Invisigal steps up as a courageous hero, culminating in a dramatic moment where she takes a bullet for you in the final episode.
What Happens:
- Invisigal survives and is hailed as a hero, rushed to the hospital.
- The Z-Team celebrates your successful leadership.
- You earn the critical choice to decide Shroud’s fate—either to kill or spare him.
- Requirement: Maintain a strong Mentor Score of about 45 points or more.
Key Actions to Hit the Good Ending: You don’t need perfection, but certain moments hugely boost your score:
- Episode 2: Help Invisigal successfully hack the Donut Shop without failure.
- Episode 2: Avoid telling Blazer about Invisigal punching you.
- Episode 3: Assist her again in the Jewelry Store camera hack.
- Episode 4: Take her to the movies for a significant +5 points.
- Episode 5: Reveal your identity with “I’m Mecha Man” to the team, scoring +5 points.
- Episode 6: Side with Invisigal and choose “We go tonight” at the party.
- Episode 7: Defend Invisigal; don’t cut her from the team.
- Episode 8: Select [UNTIE HER] for a +5 point boost.
Pro Tip: Performance in Dispatch Shift missions affects your Mentor Score. Each successful mission you send Invisigal on adds +1 hidden point, and training sessions with Blonde Blazer add +5 points. If reaching the good ending feels tough, replay early episodes focusing on training to boost her skills and your score.
2. The Bad Mentor Ending (Villain Invisigal)
Fail to support her properly and Invisigal becomes the villain, killing Shroud, stealing his mask, and vanishing into the shadows to embrace a darker path.
What Happens:
- You miss out on the “Mentor” achievement.
- Invisigal betrays the team and absconds with the Astral Pulse.
- Requirement: A low Mentor Score, earned by ignoring, failing her hacks, or betraying her trust.
How to Trigger the Bad Ending:
- Fail hacking minigames at the Donut Shop (Ep 2) or Jewelry Store (Ep 3).
- Tell Chase that Invisigal disobeyed orders in episode 2.
- Keep your identity secret; don’t reveal you are Mecha Man in episode 5.
- In later stages, cut Invisigal from the team (episode 7) and refuse to untie her in episode 8.
Shroud’s Fate: Kill or Spare?
If you earn the good mentor ending, the game presents a final moral choice after the final boss fight regarding Shroud’s fate.
- Spare Him: Shroud controls his rage, facing arrest, and the team remains proud of your decision.
- Kill Him: Robert ends Shroud’s life, avenging his father but resulting in a suspension from the Z-Team pending investigation.
Note: This choice is unavailable if you get the bad mentor ending, as Invisigal kills Shroud before you make it.
Romance Endings
Romance in Dispatch depends on building relationship points through flirting and the story’s direction. Both romances hinge on your bond with the characters and the ending you unlock.
1. Blonde Blazer Romance (The Car Kiss)
Securing romance with Mandy, the Blonde Blazer, requires direct and supportive actions.
- Dance with her during the episode 6 party.
- This romance is available regardless of the Mentor ending you achieve.
- The final celebration ends with a kiss on top of the car.
2. Invisigal Romance (The Stretcher Kiss)
This romance path demands patience and nurturing.
- Take Invisigal to the movies in episode 4 and dance with her in episode 6.
- You must unlock the good mentor ending since the villainous Invisigal leaves before a kiss can happen.
- The romance culminates with a kiss as she is loaded onto a stretcher after the final battle.
3. The Complicated Ending (Both)
Playing all the romance options for both leads triggers a funny in-game response: Shroud mocks your “Complicated” relationship status during his monologue, and the credits reflect this unusual outcome.
Side Character Endings: Coupe and Sonar
The choice you make in episode 3 regarding which hero to cut—Coupe or Sonar—circles back in episode 8, where they appear as mini-bosses whose fate depends on your combat prowess.
- Forgiven (Rejoin Team): Defeat them in the final battle and choose to forgive; they come back to the Z-Team.
- Prison: Fail to defeat or forgive them, and they’re sent to jail.
Keep in mind, your Mentor Score accumulates from the very first episodes. Missing the good ending isn’t the end—focusing more on training Invisigal and supporting her instincts improves your chances next time.
