Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake adds layers of eerie exploration with side stories that deepen the unsettling atmosphere of Itsukihama Village. Among these tales, the quest involving Miyako Sudo stands out—it’s a haunting narrative that bridges the past and present. Facing Miyako’s ghost offers more than just scares; it’s a key to mastering the game’s spectral mysteries and enriching your experience in this unsettling world.
Miyako Sudo Side Story Walkthrough
This side story kicks off once you obtain the Twin Jizo Key. On your return to the village’s center, you’ll find the Woman’s Notebook 6 lying on your path. Picking it up triggers the appearance of Miyako’s ghost, your first opportunity to photograph her and add her to your Ghost List.
Follow Miyako’s ghost along the path she walks towards Misono Hill. Here, she’ll reappear as she gazes over the village below. Snap another photo to receive the Woman’s Notebook 7, which unravels more of her story.
With Notebook 7 read, backtrack to Osaka House, the site of your initial encounter with Miyako. As you approach, her ghost briefly materializes in a window next to the door—aim carefully to capture this fleeting image.
Inside Osaka House, retrace your steps to the room where you received the Camera Obscura. Just before entering the Altar Room, Miyako’s specter appears again, so be prepared to photograph her one more time.
Once inside the altar room, Miyako’s ghost is joined by a man—both their presences signal a crucial moment. Take a photo before picking up the Woman’s Notebook 8 they leave behind, revealing deeper story layers.
Next, head toward the house’s rear hallway. Miyako’s ghost will appear once more, opening a door leading to Woman’s Notebook 10. Another specter awaits on the veranda beyond, so ready your camera to document both figures.
Photographing this last apparition concludes the collection phase, triggering a fight against Miyako’s ghost similar to your initial tutorial battle. This encounter is manageable, designed more to test basics than challenge experienced players.
Defeating Miyako rewards you with a Zousite, enabling you to tune into her final moments via the Spirit Radio. Although her side story ends here, Miyako’s influence extends into Masumi Makimura’s Side Story, continuing the narrative threads woven throughout the game.
