Fate/Grand Order Christmas 2025 Glitch Breaks Summer

Fate/Grand Order’s North American release has often been marked by quirky glitches, ranging from simple UI hiccups to more game-breaking problems like raids spawning with zero HP. Players have come to expect these occasional oddities as part of the experience, though usually they don’t affect gameplay too dramatically.

That said, a recent patch dropped on the night of December 19, 2025, with the launch of the Christmas event “Merry Christmas in the Snowy Field 2025,” took things further by breaking one of the game’s playable characters in a way rarely seen before.

What’s surprising is that the glitch didn’t affect a character involved in the Christmas event itself, like the expected Captain Nemo. Instead, it hit Summer Chloe Von Einzbern, a character completely unrelated to the event, and broke her skills in a fundamental way.

Summer Chloe’s first skill, “How’s the Progress B,” typically boosts all allies’ attack power and applies a secondary buff called “Completed Draft” whenever the character attacks. After this update, the buff ceased to apply properly during normal attacks, though it still triggered when using Noble Phantasms.

This quirk means players who primarily use Chloe’s Noble Phantasms for damage looping might not immediately notice the issue. But for those relying on her normal attacks to stack the “Completed Draft” buffs—crucial for boss battles and challenging quests—the change quickly became apparent and problematic.

Though it might seem minor, this bug critically undermines Summer Chloe’s combat role. Her third skill, “Manuscript Received,” enhances allies’ Noble Phantasm strength and charges their NP gauges by 10% for each “Completed Draft” buff present. Without the ability to amass multiple stacks through normal attacks, this skill loses almost all practical value.

With this single skill broken, Summer Chloe’s entire kit comes undone. Currently, her main utility is limited to assisting NP loopers by using her second skill to retreat to the back row after activating the few buffs still functioning.

While not as catastrophic as the infamous 2023 Tunguska raid glitch or the 24-hour Jeanne Santa Lily maintenance downtime, this bug is still a significant disappointment for many players. After all, Summer Chloe is a beloved character, and seeing her sidelined is tough. Fingers crossed the upcoming 2026 updates will resolve this issue.
