- The spooky season in Fisch intensifies with the FischFright 3 event, where players chase down six unique Halloween rods packed with eerie charm and potent fishing perks. These rods aren’t just cosmetic; they offer stats and abilities that can dramatically boost your fishing prowess across Caustic Hallow, and unlocking each one is a satisfying challenge that tests your dedication and skill.
- FischFright 3 brings six Halloween rods with different ways to unlock them—some tied to questlines from NPCs, others through rituals demanding rare materials. Among these, the Dutchman’s Rod and Omniscient Spinecaster present the toughest challenges as they require completing specific rituals. Understanding how to navigate these tasks is key to decking out your rod collection this event season. Here’s the breakdown for all six rods: Boglin Branch: Finish the Youngster Goblin questline. Eldritch Rod: Reach Hex Energy Level 11 by offering ingredients to Beatrix’s cauldron. Webweaver Rod: Complete Webby Winston’s trio of quests, then buy the rod with Treats. Doomsekkar Rod: Finish Doomsekkar’s fishing and haunted spirit challenges. Dutchman’s Rod: Complete the Dutchman’s Blessing Ritual. Omniscient Spinecaster: Complete the Omniscient Ritual, the hardest unlock of all.
- To snag the Boglin Branch , start by chatting with the Youngster Goblin near Beatrix’s Cauldron in Caustic Hallow. He’ll set you on a quest that requires you to complete five key objectives, including challenging Goblin encounters and tracking down three rare Boglin items. The five essential tasks are: Complete three Goblin Challenges on Normal difficulty or higher (Ignore Easy Goblins; they don’t count here). Hand over 10 Witch’s Ingredients of any type to the Youngster Goblin. Find one Boglin Skull. Obtain one Boglin Twig (sometimes called a Boglin Fang). Collect one set of Boglin Wraps. Once you’ve hit those three Goblin Challenges, farming the remaining Boglin parts becomes easier since Easy Goblins will drop them. However, these items are rare, so persistence is key as you keep an eye on your quest tracker for progress.
- When it comes to stats, the Boglin Branch is a solid choice if you’re hunting those elusive event fish. It offers a balanced setup with high Luck, decent Lure Speed, and enough strength to reel in fish that weigh up to 550,000 kg. Lure Speed: 80% Luck: 180% Control: 0.05 Resilience: 20% Max Weight: 550,000 kg
- The Eldritch Rod unlocks through a different route but uses the same Witch’s Ingredients from the Boglin quest, so you can multitask by gathering for both. Head to Beatrix’s cauldron in Caustic Hallow, where feeding ingredients increases your Hex Energy. Interactions let you offer single or all ingredients at once, with a message confirming each energy gain. Keep going until you hit Hex Energy Level 11. After that, claim your Eldritch Rod from Beatrix, alongside other event goodies like Witch’s Pot furniture and the Coffin Bobber.
- The Eldritch Rod stands out for racking up Luck and Lure Speed, with an exceptional infinite max weight capacity. This means no fish is too heavy to catch, making it invaluable for the event’s rarest specimens. Lure Speed: 90% Luck: 230% Control: 0.05 Resilience: 15% Max Weight: Infinite
- The Webweaver Rod becomes yours by completing a series of three quests from Webby Winston, found inside the Webridden Cavern under Caustic Hallow. The good news is you can work on all three objectives at once, streamlining your grind. Your missions include: Trick-or-treating at 16 unique houses while carrying the Candy Bucket (repeat visits don’t count). Catch 15 Cobweb Cod within the cavern’s green waters. Catch 10 fish affected by the Webbed mutation inside the cavern. Completing these nets you 1,000 Treats, which you’ll use to buy the Webweaver Rod from Webby. Save those treats and don’t spend them elsewhere if you want a direct path to the rod.
- Webweaver Rod Stats and Passive
- The Doomsekkar Rod requires a deep dive into challenges near the Halloween graveyard by Webridden Cavern’s entrance. Doomsekkar’s questline pushes you to excel in fishing by demanding 100 catches from rare Frightful Pools, 50 Perfect Catches, and capturing a haunted spirit in an event-exclusive encounter. The three objectives are: Catch 100 fish from the glowing Frightful Pools sprinkled in the ocean. You can spawn one yourself by buying a Frightful Pool Totem from the Flying Dutchman for 3,000 Treats. Land 50 Perfect Catches to increase your precision. Capture a haunted spirit inside a glowing haunted house in Caustic Hallow once the event announces its appearance. Combining fishing for Frightful Pools with Perfect Catches makes the first two tasks much more manageable.

The good news is you can work on all three objectives at once, streamlining your grind. Your missions include: Trick-or-treating at 16 unique houses while carrying the Candy Bucket (repeat visits don’t count). Catch 15 Cobweb Cod within the cavern’s green waters. The Doomsekkar Rod requires a deep dive into challenges near the Halloween graveyard by Webridden Cavern’s entrance.
You need to complete the following three objectives:
-
Catch 100 fish from Frightful Pools. These are temporary glowing fishing pools that appear around the ocean during FischFright 3. You can purchase a Frightful Pool Totem from the Flying Dutchman for 3,000 Treats to force one to spawn.
-
Land 50 Perfect Catches while fishing.
-
Capture the haunted spirit inside the correct haunted house in Caustic Hallow.
The first two objectives can be completed at the same time, so keep fishing in Frightful Pools while aiming for Perfect Catches to make progress toward both requirements.
How to Capture the Haunted Spirit
To catch the haunted spirit, watch for the server message indicating a haunted house has appeared and look for one glowing with a green number. Equip your Candy Bucket before you approach, then knock and select any dialogue option. Hold your cursor on the ghost until the capture ends, transporting you to a special zone. Use the Magic Mirror to return to the main game once done.
Bring the captured spirit back to Doomsekkar to finish the quest and claim the rod plus 3,000 Treats.
Follow these steps to capture the spirit:
-
Equip your Candy Bucket before approaching the haunted house.
-
Knock on the door and select either available dialogue option.
-
Keep your cursor on the ghost until the capture process is complete.
-
Once the spirit is captured, you will be teleported to a special area.
-
Use your Magic Mirror to leave the area and return to the main game.
After completing all three objectives, return to Doomsekkar to claim the rod and receive an additional 3,000 Treats.
