Alchemy in Graveyard Keeper 2 is a core mechanic that lets you create a variety of useful potions and materials by combining different ingredients. Figuring out the right combinations can be tricky, especially since multiple sets of ingredients may yield the same end product.

The key to efficient alchemy lies in understanding these recipes and their required materials. This way, you won’t waste time randomly testing mixtures in the laboratory in search of your desired outcomes.

How Alchemy Works in Graveyard Keeper 2

To use an ingredient for alchemy, you must study it at the Study Table first.

Select an unstudied item and use the Study action, which consumes both Faith and Science. This process reveals the magical runes associated with the ingredient, though some materials won’t provide useful runes, requiring you to test other items.

After studying, the ingredient becomes usable for crafting mixtures in the laboratory.

The laboratory interface lets you combine your studied ingredients and shows the runes each provides. Remember that crafting items also requires the use of Flasks to produce the final product.

The general alchemy procedure is as follows:

1. Study an ingredient at the Study Table to unlock its runes.
2. Collect and combine these ingredients in the laboratory.
3. Add a Flask to finalize the recipe.
4. Select the quantity and craft the desired item.
