If you’ve been eyeing Solemn Lament in Lineage Piece, you’ve probably already realized this isn’t a weapon you can obtain in a single afternoon. It’s one of those endgame grinds that asks for plenty of dungeon runs, rare materials, and a little bit of patience.

The biggest mistake most players make is farming everything one item at a time. That usually leads to a lot of unnecessary backtracking. Instead, it’s much faster to gather keys in advance, combine multiple grinds together, and know exactly where every material comes from before you start.
This guide covers every requirement for crafting Solemn Lament, where to find all six Gun Parts, how to farm Soul Weaver Butterflies, Fusion Cores, and the best way to make the entire grind much less frustrating.
Where to Craft Solemn Lament
Your journey starts on Frostborn Island.
Travel there and find the Yisang NPC (sometimes referred to as East Saying by players). Interacting with this NPC opens the Solemn Lament crafting menu, where you can check your current progress and see every material you’ve collected.
Once you’ve gathered everything, return to Yisang to craft the weapon.
Conveniently, Yisang is located close to the Angelus Shop NPC, meaning you won’t have to travel far between buying Fusion Cores and crafting the weapon.
Solemn Lament Crafting Requirements
Before you can craft Solemn Lament, you’ll need the following materials:
- 1 Grief for the Dead
- 1 Lament for the Living
- 5 Fusion Cores
- 100 Soul Weaver Butterflies
- 250 Bosses Souls
- 30,000,000 Coins
- 45,000 Gems
Besides these resources, you’ll also need all six Gun Parts, which are the biggest part of the grind.
Understanding the Six Gun Parts
Solemn Lament requires six separate weapon parts.
These are divided into two groups:
Black Gun Parts
- Black Gun Part I
- Black Gun Part II
- Black Gun Part III
White Gun Parts
- White Gun Part I
- White Gun Part II
- White Gun Part III
Every single one is required. Missing even one part means you won’t be able to craft the weapon.
The good news is that every dungeon has a clear source for its part. The bad news is the drop rate.
Each Gun Part has roughly a 9.3% drop chance, so don’t be surprised if one part takes dozens of dungeon clears.
Sometimes you’ll get lucky in a few runs. Other times, RNG simply refuses to cooperate.
How to Farm Soul Weaver Butterflies
Soul Weaver Butterflies are one of the main crafting materials you’ll need.
They primarily drop from enemies that have the Butterfly Mutation.
Mutations are randomly assigned whenever enemies respawn, changing both their appearance and their drops.
Whenever you notice a butterfly-mutated enemy, make it your priority to defeat it for a chance at receiving Soul Weaver Butterflies.
Another reliable source is the new Frostborn Island dungeon, where these materials can also drop.
Best Butterfly Farming Method
Instead of running around searching for individual mutated enemies, stay in an area with a large number of monsters.
Clear every enemy you see.
Even if none of them currently have the Butterfly Mutation, they can respawn with it later.
This simple strategy gives you far more mutation opportunities than constantly switching farming locations.
How to Get Fusion Cores
You’ll eventually need five Fusion Cores.
There are two different ways to obtain them.
Option 1: Buy Them
Fusion Cores can be purchased directly from the Angelus Shop NPC on Frostborn Island.
If you already have plenty of coins saved up, this is usually the fastest option.
Option 2: Craft Them
Fusion Cores can also be crafted at the crafting station.
Each Fusion Core requires:
- 20 Bosses Souls
- 100 Soul Weaver Butterflies
Crafting all five yourself costs an additional:
- 100 Bosses Souls
- 500 Soul Weaver Butterflies
That’s on top of the regular Solemn Lament requirements.
If you’ve been farming dungeons for a while, crafting may be the cheaper option. Otherwise, buying them is usually much less time-consuming.
How to Get Every Black Gun Part
Black Gun Part I
This part drops from the Sid Boss on Wave 10 of the Sid Dungeon.
Dungeon Key
You’ll need a Sid Key.
Sid Keys are dropped by Bandits on Starter Island.
Since Bandits are easy to defeat, it’s worth farming a stack of keys before entering the dungeon.
Black Gun Part II
Black Gun Part II drops from the Saber Altar Boss inside the Ryuto Cave Dungeon.
Dungeon Key
You’ll need a Ryuto Key.
Ryuto Keys are dropped by the Saber Boss.
Among the Black Gun Part farms, this is generally considered one of the quicker dungeon runs.
Black Gun Part III
The final Black Gun Part drops from Monarch Sung Jinwoo inside Cardinon Temple.
Dungeon Key
You’ll need a Cardinon Key.
This key drops from the Sung Jinwoo Boss.
Cardinon Temple is noticeably longer than several other dungeons, so try to collect a healthy supply of keys before beginning your serious farming sessions.
You’ll thank yourself later.
How to Get Every White Gun Part
White Gun Part I
White Gun Part I drops from Raiden during Wave 5 of the Plane of Ythania Dungeon.
Dungeon Key
You’ll need a Shrine Key.
Shrine Keys are dropped by Snow Bandits.
Since Raiden appears relatively early in the dungeon, these runs can be completed fairly quickly.
White Gun Part II
This part drops from the Aizen World Boss.
Unlike the dungeon bosses, you’ll first need to summon him.
To start the fight, speak with the Aizen Summoner NPC located on Hueco Mundo Island.
After defeating Aizen, you’ll have a chance to receive White Gun Part II.
White Gun Part III
The final White Gun Part comes from the Miyabi Boss inside the Miyabi Dungeon.
Dungeon Key
You’ll need an Absolute Ether Key.
These keys are obtained from the Banner in Lineage Town.
This dungeon is one of the final stops during your Solemn Lament grind, so make sure you’ve prepared enough keys before starting repeated runs.
Best Dungeon Farming Order
Because every Gun Part shares the same drop chance, the biggest thing you can control is your efficiency.
A good farming route looks like this:
- Farm plenty of dungeon keys first.
- Clear the Sid Dungeon until Black Gun Part I drops.
- Move to Ryuto Cave for Black Gun Part II.
- Save multiple Cardinon Keys before farming Cardinon Temple.
- Complete the Plane of Ythania runs for White Gun Part I.
- Defeat the Aizen World Boss whenever it’s available.
- Finish the Miyabi Dungeon for the final White Gun Part.
This prevents constant interruptions where you have to leave a dungeon just to farm another key.
Farm Multiple Materials at the Same Time
One tip that saves a surprising amount of time is combining your grinds.
While you’re farming dungeon keys or Bosses Souls, keep defeating Butterfly Mutated enemies whenever they appear.
Doing this lets you collect:
- Soul Weaver Butterflies
- Bosses Souls
- Dungeon Keys
- Gun Parts
all during the same farming sessions instead of treating each material as a completely separate grind.
It may not seem like much at first, but over dozens of dungeon runs, this approach saves hours.
Final Crafting Checklist
Before returning to Yisang, make sure you have:
- Grief for the Dead
- Lament for the Living
- All 3 Black Gun Parts
- All 3 White Gun Parts
- 5 Fusion Cores
- 100 Soul Weaver Butterflies
- 250 Bosses Souls
- 30 Million Coins
- 45,000 Gems
Once every requirement is complete, head back to Yisang on Frostborn Island and craft Solemn Lament
Solemn Lament is designed to be a long-term grind rather than something you’ll unlock in a handful of runs. The low Gun Part drop rates mean luck will always play a role, but good preparation makes a noticeable difference.
Farm plenty of keys before you start, clear Butterfly Mutated enemies whenever you see them, and don’t wait until the end to gather Bosses Souls or Fusion Core materials. By working on multiple objectives at the same time, you’ll spend far less time backtracking and much more time making real progress toward one of the strongest weapons in Lineage Piece.
