This one isn’t hard once you know the path, but figuring it out on your own can take a while because nothing really points you in the right direction. It’s more about following the route properly and not missing your spot.
I’ll walk you through it exactly how to do it so you don’t end up wandering around the map.
Getting to the Second Ridge
First thing you want to do is get to the top of the second ridge.
You’ve got two ways to do this:
- Take the long ski lift and go across
- Or use the two shorter lifts to reach the same area
Either way works, just get yourself up there.
Finding the Right Side
Once you’re on the second ridge, head toward the left-side lift.
From there, move slightly left of the large rocks nearby. When you’re in the right spot, you should have a clear view looking down the slope. This is your starting point for the next part.
Sliding to the Correct Area
Now start sledding down.
You’re aiming for roughly the area where a respawn flag would be located (if you’ve seen it before, that helps). As you slide down, keep checking your surroundings to make sure it matches what you expect.
If you’re in the right place, the terrain and view will look familiar and open enough for the next step.
Heading to the UFO Hill
Now comes the part where most people mess up.
From where you stopped, you need to move toward what’s known as the UFO hill.
You’ll likely have to:
- Sled part of the way
- Then walk or slowly climb (“waddle”) up the hill
And yeah, one important thing here:
Watch out for the yeti.
If you go too far out or take the wrong route, it can mess up your attempt.
Finding the UFO
Once you’re on the hill, look around carefully.
If you turn back toward the lift, you’ll see the area you came from.
But if you turn the other way or keep going over the hill, you should eventually spot the UFO location.
From there:
- Roll or slide down toward it
- As soon as you reach it, press F quickly
Timing matters a bit here, so don’t hesitate.
Unlocking the UFO Sled
If everything goes right, you’ll unlock the UFO sled.
After that, you’ll usually end up back in a normal view area, and you can go equip it like any other sled.
