Titan is one of the most unique bruiser-style characters in Invincible VS. While he lacks the fast aerial mobility and aggressive movement options many other characters possess, he makes up for it with powerful armor mechanics, oppressive close-range pressure, strong combo conversions, and excellent durability.

At first glance, Titan may seem like a straightforward heavyweight character, but once you understand how his rock armor system works alongside his armored attacks and combo routes, he becomes one of the most dangerous pressure characters in the game.

This guide covers Titan’s moveset, armor mechanics, combo tools, strengths, weaknesses, and overall strategy.

Titan’s Playstyle

Titan is primarily a close-range pressure character who thrives once he gets near the opponent.

His gameplay revolves around:

  • Using armor to bully through attacks
  • Forcing mix-ups with overheads and lows
  • Converting hits into strong combo routes
  • Maintaining rock armor for survivability
  • Applying pressure with large hitboxes

Unlike highly mobile characters, Titan has to slowly work his way into range before he can dominate.

Basic Attacks and Normals

Titan’s normals have surprisingly strong range for a heavyweight character.

Light Attacks

His jab string is straightforward and reliable for starting pressure.

You can chain multiple light attacks together before transitioning into mediums or heavies.

Medium Attacks

Titan’s standing medium has excellent range and works well as a poke.

His crouching medium also reaches surprisingly far, making it useful for controlling ground movement.

Heavy Attack

Titan’s heavy swing covers solid space and works naturally in combo routes.

Charge Medium Armor

One of Titan’s strongest tools is his charged medium attacks.

When fully charged:

  • They gain armor
  • They absorb hits
  • They become threatening pressure tools

Both standing and crouching charged mediums gain armored properties.

This makes Titan extremely dangerous in close-range situations because opponents cannot mindlessly challenge him.

Air Options and Ball Cancel

Titan has an interesting airborne mechanic tied to his down medium in the air.

When holding down medium while airborne:

  • Titan curls into a rolling ball form
  • The move can be canceled into other attacks
  • It opens up creative combo routes

This gives Titan some unique aerial combo flexibility despite his weaker mobility.

Rock Toss Projectile

Titan’s projectile special is a rock toss.

Neutral Rock Toss

The standard version throws a rock directly forward.

Upward Rock Toss

Holding up changes the trajectory into an arc.

This version is useful for:

  • Covering aerial space
  • Combo extensions
  • Pressuring movement

Enhanced Rock Toss

When enhanced with boost meter:

  • Titan creates a larger rock
  • He can punch it toward the opponent
  • Different follow-ups alter the angle and behavior

This creates additional pressure opportunities and combo potential.

While Titan does have projectile tools, they are slower than true zoning characters.

Titan’s Armor Mechanics

Armor is the defining feature of Titan.

Unlike many characters, Titan can gain armored attacks without spending boost meter.

Down Special

Titan’s down special becomes armored while rock armor is active.

Forward Special

His forward special is also armored and can lead directly into combo routes.

These tools allow Titan to bulldoze through attacks and punish reckless offense.

Enhanced Forward Special

Enhancing Titan’s forward special adds:

  • Extra hits
  • More damage potential
  • Better combo routes

This move is excellent for extending pressure and converting openings into large damage.

Understanding Rock Armor

Rock armor is Titan’s core mechanic.

When active:

  • Titan gains damage reduction
  • Certain moves gain armor properties
  • He becomes significantly harder to stop

However, the armor gradually breaks down as Titan takes damage.

Damage Reduction Scaling

At full armor:

  • Titan takes dramatically reduced damage

At low armor:

  • The damage reduction becomes much weaker

Maintaining rock armor is extremely important for maximizing Titan’s effectiveness.

Rock Armor Super

Titan has a super move dedicated to restoring his rock armor.

After activating it:

  • His armor replenishes
  • He regains his defensive strength
  • He can continue bullying opponents with armored specials

However, there is an important tradeoff.

When rock armor is inactive or depleted:

  • Titan loses the armor effects on certain moves
  • His specials no longer absorb attacks

Because of this, restoring armor quickly is a major priority during matches.

Rock Armor Follow-Up

After using the armor-restoring super, Titan can perform a follow-up headbutt.

The follow-up:

  • Causes a knockdown
  • Adds extra damage
  • Creates strong momentum

This is especially useful during combos because it restores armor while still maintaining offensive pressure.

Air Special Moves

Titan’s airborne special differs from his grounded version.

Instead of grabbing a rock from the ground:

  • He performs a charging attack
  • The enhanced version adds additional hits
  • The move can be canceled into combo continuations

These air specials help extend Titan’s combo game.

Titan’s Super Moves

Like other characters, Titan has:

  • Two Level 1 supers
  • One Level 3 super

Forward Super

His forward super is a flurry of punches.

This move:

  • Deals strong damage
  • Can be canceled into tag extensions
  • Works well in combos

Level 3 Super

Titan’s cinematic Level 3 deals massive damage and serves as a strong combo finisher.

Titan’s Weaknesses

Despite his strengths, Titan has several important weaknesses.

Weak Mobility

Titan lacks:

  • Double jumps
  • Air dashes
  • Fast aerial movement

Compared to more mobile characters, he can struggle to approach.

Vulnerability to Zoning

Characters with strong projectiles can keep Titan at a distance.

His slower movement means he often has to:

  • Slowly advance
  • Use boost dashes carefully
  • Work through projectile pressure

Reliance on Armor

Titan is significantly stronger when rock armor is active.

Without it:

  • He loses defensive strength
  • His armored moves stop functioning
  • His pressure becomes easier to challenge

Managing armor uptime is essential.

Using Boost Dash With Titan

Boost Dash is extremely important for Titan.

Since he lacks advanced movement tools, boost dash helps him:

  • Close distance quickly
  • Bypass zoning
  • Start pressure
  • Force offense

Once Titan gets close, his armored pressure becomes very threatening.

Titan’s Overhead Pressure

Titan has a strong overhead attack with excellent range.

This move is dangerous because:

  • It reaches far
  • It starts pressure easily
  • It can be mixed with lows

However, it is punishable if blocked.

Because of this, using assists to cover the overhead is highly recommended.

Recommended Titan Strategy

1. Maintain Rock Armor

Your first priority should always be keeping rock armor active.

Without armor, Titan loses much of his defensive identity.

2. Force Close-Range Combat

Titan becomes strongest once he gets near the opponent.

Use:

  • Boost dash
  • Armored specials
  • Long-range normals

to close the gap.

3. Abuse Armored Pressure

Many opponents will struggle against repeated armored attacks.

Mix:

  • Forward special
  • Overheads
  • Lows
  • Throws

for strong offensive pressure.

4. Use Assists to Cover Unsafe Moves

Titan’s overheads and pressure tools can be punishable.

Strong assists help:

  • Keep pressure safe
  • Lock opponents down
  • Extend combos
  • Cover approaches

5. Optimize Combo Extensions

Titan has surprisingly creative combo routes.

Experiment with:

  • Ball cancels
  • Enhanced specials
  • Tag extensions
  • Air special cancels

to maximize damage.

Best Team Synergy Ideas

Titan works especially well with assists that:

  • Control space
  • Lock down opponents
  • Help him approach safely
  • Extend pressure

Projectile-heavy assists are especially useful because they help compensate for Titan’s weaker mobility
