In the vast urban sprawl of Lumiose City, tracking down every Pokemon can feel like hunting for a hidden treasure. Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour aren’t just tucked in random patches of grass—they prefer lofty perches, often high in trees or even atop rooftops. These elusive elemental monkeys are crucial for completing your Pokedex and unlocking the rewarding side mission “A Pan-tastic Pot of Tea.” Spotting them requires patience, a keen eye looking upward, and knowing exactly where to search amidst the jungle of urban greenery and structures.
How To Start A Pan-tastic Pot of Tea
To get this side mission underway, you first need to advance to Rank V in the Z-A Royale. Once achieved, head over to Cafe Cyclone in Vert Sector 3, where Servando will be waiting outside to kick off the quest.
He’ll request you to bring him the three elemental monkeys—Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour—to experiment with a new tea recipe. In return, you’ll receive a fresh menu item along with 1,000 Pokedollars, 3 HP Up vitamins, and a White Herb, making the hunt well worth your time.
Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour Locations
Each location listed below presents a chance for any of the three Pan-type Pokemon to appear. So even if you revisit the same spot, which Pan-type you encounter can vary.
Autumnal Avenue
Out of all the spots, Autumnal Avenue is your best bet for finding these monkeys. This stretch runs from the heart of Lumiose City all the way west through North Boulevard and is lined with generous clusters of trees perfect for climbing.
The easiest access is via fast travel to the Centrico Pokemon Center located north of Prism Tower. From there, head west past Rouge Street. If you notice a blonde woman accompanied by a Heliolisk, you’re in the right neighborhood.
Once here, move quickly between the trees with your camera angled upward. Their bright hues make them stand out, but holding down the lock-on button (ZL) while running will help you zero in even faster. Thanks to abundant trees, you’re likely to catch all three in a single run if luck’s on your side.
Jaune Sector 4
Though Autumnal Avenue tops the list, Jaune Sector 4 deserves a mention. This area has only three trees, yet each tends to harbor one of the elemental monkeys. To get there, fast travel to the Hibernal Pokemon Center, then proceed down the road between the center and Cafe Kizuna. A right turn will lead you directly to the tree cluster entrance.
Hibernal Avenue
Easily overlooked, Hibernal Avenue offers a decent chance as well. Situated east of Centrico Plaza with a more spaced-out row of trees, it doesn’t match Autumnal Avenue’s density but can usually yield one or two monkeys. It’s a solid fallback if you haven’t snagged them all yet.
Above the Bleu Pokemon Center
Rooftops offer a different challenge and require more climbing skill. One such location is above the Bleu Pokemon Center in Bleu Sector 7. Look for scaffolding next to a Nouveau Cafe truck to climb up, or use fast travel if unlocked. Traverse along the rooftops until you reach the Pokemon Center’s roof, where two of the monkeys tend to hang out.
This area provides the thrill of vertical exploration, so save rooftop hunts for later once you’re comfortable with navigation.
Jaune Sector 2
Another rooftop haunt is in Jaune Sector 2. Begin at Jaune Street on the right side of Prism Tower, then ascend the first flight of stairs. Just before the second stairs, turn right into an alley to find a ladder. If you’ve visited the justice Dojo, fast traveling there and taking a left leads you straight to this ladder. Climb to find two of the monkeys waiting ahead to the right.
Rouge Sector 7
Rouge Sector 7
The final, and most challenging, rooftop spot is in Rouge Sector 7. Use the Holovator beside the Looker Bureau in Rouge Sector 5, then move right along the rooftop until spotting a small building in the bottom right of Sector 7. This building houses not just three monkeys, but also an Alpha version.
Access requires the Roto-Glide ability, unlocked after reaching Rank E and initiating the main mission “A Rogue Mega Beedrill.” Since this gate prevents early access, prioritize other locations first if you’re aiming to complete the side quest quickly. Still, it’s a prime spot if you want some high-level Pan-types for your team later on.
