Side Missions TMs Locations and How to Unlock

Side missions are a crucial and often overlooked way to grab some of the rarest TMs, often linked to battle strategies and tough opponents. These missions unlock in order as you rise through the story ranks, starting with Rank W and progressing higher, so keep an eye on your current rank to time their availability.

Will-O-Wisp TM

Shortly after reaching Rank W during Main Mission 8, you’ll unlock Side Mission 26 – Burn, Litleo, Burn located at Restaurant Le Yeah near Quasartico Inc. This mission requires you to defeat Armie’s Fire-type Pokemon. Earning this TM early gives your Pokemon access to a vital status move that cripples physical attackers.

Substitute TM

Also at Rank W, during Main Mission 8, you can access Side Mission 29 – Full Course of Battles: One Star at Restaurant Le Nah, just south of Wild Zone 6. Here, clearing three consecutive trainer battles nets you the Substitute TM, a favorite for stalling and strategic play in tough fights.

Reflect TM

Arriving at Rank F in Main Mission 10 brings Side Mission 34 – Moves That Put a Wall to your radar, found southeast of Cafe Kizuna. Overcome a trainer who relies on defensive tactics to claim the Reflect TM and bolster your team’s survivability against special attacks.

Spikes TM

At Rank E, during Main Mission 15, Side Mission 41 – Watch Out for Traps challenges you north of Wild Zone 1. Defeating a trainer focused on trap moves rewards you the Spikes TM, allowing you to add hazard layers to control the battlefield strategically.

Fly TM

Finally, at Rank E during Main Mission 19, Side Mission 46 – Pidgeot Soaring High at the eastern port near Justice Dojo tasks you with battling a trainer who favors the Fly move. This mission awards the Fly TM, an essential move for both travel convenience and powerful offensive options.
