Sable is a game that encourages us to explore its world at our own pace, and that is one of the reasons why achievement hunting feels much less restrictive here. You can travel across Midden, complete quests, collect badges, find Chums, catch fish, and discover plenty of hidden locations along the way.
I recommend experiencing the game naturally first if you can. Some of the achievements and quests below contain spoilers, especially the story-related objectives, so it is worth keeping that in mind before reading too far ahead.
Below, I have explained each achievement and the easiest way we can unlock it. We will go through quest achievements, masks, collectibles, fishing, exploration objectives, and everything else you need for 100% completion.
Sable Walkthrough Guide – Achievements, Quest
There are no missable achievements in Sable, so you can explore and progress through the game however you want.
The final quest becomes available after collecting three badges of one particular type, but you do not have to complete it immediately. You can continue exploring Midden and work on other achievements first.
Keep in mind that after finishing the game, you cannot continue playing normally from that completed state. However, if you select Continue from the main menu, the game returns you to a point before the final quest, allowing you to finish anything you still need.
Whenever you enter a new region without its map, I recommend looking into the sky for the Cartographer’s balloon. Buying the regional map makes exploration much easier and helps us locate important places.
You should also return Chum eggs to the Chum Queen whenever possible. The stamina upgrades you receive can make climbing and exploring much easier later in the game.
Although I have listed badges in a particular order under each mask, you can usually collect them in any order unless a specific quest requires otherwise.
If fishing is giving you trouble, you can enable the Easy Fishing option in the Settings. This prevents the fishing line from snapping and increases the appearance rate of rarer fish. It does not stop you from earning achievements.
Quest Related Achievements
Got Your Nose – Collect an Elephant Beetle
You receive an optional objective to find elephant beetles during the Beetle Detour quest while searching for the calibrator needed to build your hoverbike.
However, you do not have to collect one during that quest. You can return and get an elephant beetle at any point during your playthrough.
Head to the area near the dam where the hoverbike control panel is located and go through the pipe leading into the open area containing elephant beetles.
Climb one of the Tassel trees and approach a fruit to make it fall. Pick up the fruit and throw it close to a beetle. Once the beetle starts eating, you can pick it up and unlock the achievement.
Simoon – Build Your Hoverbike
This is part of the main story and cannot be missed.
Simply continue progressing until you build your hoverbike.
Just The Two of Us – Leave the Ewer
Another story-related achievement that cannot be missed.
After building your hoverbike, leave the Ewer to unlock it.
Up On High – Unblock the Wind Tower
You unlock this while completing A Stubborn Snag, a quest given by Machinist Utarii in Burnt Oak Station.
Continue through the quest and unblock the Wind Tower.
Nesting Giant – Get Into the Hercules Beetle Nest
While visiting Burnt Oak Station, speak with Innkeeper Ifaa and accept the Remnants of Change quest.
Follow the quest until you reach the Hercules Beetle nest. In the area, there is a partially damaged building that you can climb.
Reach the top and collect one of the fruits growing on the vines. Take the fruit toward the Hercules Beetle blocking the entrance to the nest.
The beetle will move toward you while you are holding the fruit. Lure it away from the entrance and enter the nest to unlock the achievement.
I personally managed to get this achievement by approaching the beetle while it was blocking the entrance even without using the fruit. This may have been a bug, though, so your experience could be different.
Power to the People – Return Power to Eccria
Progress through the Heartbreak in the City quest, which begins automatically when you visit Eccria.
Completing the quest and restoring power unlocks this achievement.
Take That! – Point the Finger at a Suspect
During the Eccria power outage investigation, you need to discover who tampered with the Atomic Heart.
You will collect evidence and eventually choose a suspect. There is a correct answer confirmed by the developers, but the game does not clearly tell you whether your chosen suspect was actually responsible.
Because of this, you can technically accuse any of the available suspects and still unlock the achievement.
If you want to investigate properly, here is what you need to know.
First, collect the evidence around the Atomic Heart power core, including:
- Broken glass
- Feathers
- A note about debt owed to merchants
- The power core socket
There are three suspects:
Climber Garay can be found beneath the bridge near Eccria’s entrance.
Machinist Hamza is located near the canals in Eccria, and you naturally meet him while repairing the power core. His apartment has been trashed, making him appear suspicious.
Merchant Iria is located in the Eccria market. You need to bribe the guard with a Fallow Pomegranate to access her.
After speaking with all three suspects, talk to Café Owner Rita near the canals. Ask her about the power outage and then ask about Garay. She confirms his alibi.
This leaves Iria and Hamza.
Iria has an alibi provided by her guards. Hamza’s damaged apartment and the debt receipt suggest that someone needed money, while Garay mentions that a machinist attempted to sell a power core in the market.
Based on the available clues, Hamza appears to be the person responsible, and the developers also confirmed that Hamza is the correct suspect.
Smoked Out – Collect a Hakoan Glowworm
Head to the merchant quarters in Eccria and interact with the strange snake-like creature.
After the cutscene, speak with Merchant Citra to receive the Nozi’s Nibbles quest.
Continue through the quest and speak with Innkeeper Afii at Seven Sisters Station in Hakoa.
You will eventually need to visit the cave containing the glowworms. The entrance is hidden behind a waterfall.
Inside, you will find an open area with puddles, rocks, and glowworms hanging from the ceiling.
Pick up a rock and drop it into one of the puddles. The rock immediately begins producing smoke.
Quickly pick it up while it is still smoking and place it beneath a group of glowworms. The smoke causes them to fall, allowing you to collect one and unlock the achievement.
Glider on the Storm – Harvest a Lightning Crystal
Go to Seven Sisters Station in Hakoa and speak with Machinist Zahra.
Ask about receiving a Machinist badge, and she will give you the Lightning in a Bottle quest.
Next, travel to the Crystal Plateau and speak with the Hakoans there.
You can either purchase lightning crystals from the Hakoan trader Caimin for 100 cuts each or harvest one yourself.
To farm a crystal, climb to the top of the Crystal Plateau and wait near one of the lightning pillars.
When lightning strikes a pillar, crystals grow from it. Some contain lightning crystals.
Climb the pillar immediately and collect the crystal before the formations break away. If you wait too long, you will need to wait for another lightning strike.
Squeeze One Out – Collect Slicer Beetle Poo
Speak with Innkeeper Afii at Seven Sisters Station in Hakoa and ask if she needs help.
She gives you The Long Drop quest.
Continue through the quest until you reach Carab’s Hold. Enter the area, drop into the water, and swim until you reach the cave containing the beetles.
Pick up one of the fruits located on top of a column and drop it near the beetles.
While they eat, one beetle will have an orange glowing area on its back.
Jump onto that glowing section, and the beetle will squeeze out the poo needed for the achievement.
Quest Related Achievements Continued
A Hard Place – Collect an Orange Ringed Beetle
Speak with Innkeeper Ofuu at Marrow Bone Station and accept the Orange Ringed Delights quest.
Follow the quest marker until you reach the beetle nest.
These beetles normally burrow underground when you approach them. To catch one, wait until it walks onto solid stone.
When you move close, the beetle tries to burrow through the stone, loses its balance, and flips over.
You can then pick it up.
Using Tassel fruits from nearby trees can help lure the beetles onto solid surfaces.
Fragile Goods – Destroy a Nimoor Plant
You can unlock this while completing the Tough Nut to Crack quest given by Guard Eliisabet.
Before receiving that quest, speak with her at Burnt Oak Station in Sansee and accept A View from the Bridge.
Complete that quest by meeting her on the Bridge of the Betrayed in the Badlands.
Afterward, find her again at Marrow Bone Station in The Wash and accept Tough Nut to Crack.
Travel to the Petrified Forest at night and look for a Nimoor plant glowing bright blue.
Pick up the plant and throw it to break it.
Collect the item inside to unlock the achievement.
Ceiling of Stars – Complete the Puzzle in the Watch
Go to Marrow Bone Station and speak with Machinist Kaalan.
He gives you the An Eye to the Sky quest.
Follow the quest to The Watch. You can only complete this section during the daytime when the sun is shining.
Enter the structure until you reach the large room containing the massive spherical object.
Go to the highest platform and stand on the floor switch to open the roof.
Once sunlight enters, find the lever beneath one of the small arches.
Move each lever until part of its arch glows blue. Repeat this with all three levers.
After that, stand in front of the giant face and collect the small spherical object from the pedestal.
Finally, place the object into the pedestal containing the symbol matching the symbol on the large sphere’s ring.
The achievement unlocks once you insert it correctly.
Amateur Historian – Complete Historical Reconnection
To begin Historical Reconnection, interact with one of the seven Sarin instances located throughout Midden.
The most common way to begin is by finding Sarin’s chamber inside The Whale in Redsee, although interacting with any of the other six instances also starts the quest.
You are then asked to discover more information about Sarin.
To do this, find all six remaining Sarin locations and listen to their recordings.
The locations are connected to these exploration achievements:
- The Dunboyne
- Balfron Connection
- Rowleys Way
- Shadow of Neave
- Trellick’s Pillar
- Centre of Brunswick
After speaking with all six Sarin instances, return to The Whale.
Reach the first platform near the ladder and moving platforms, immediately turn right, and continue until you reach the unlocked doors.
Go through them to meet Sarin and complete the quest.
The Quick and the Curious – Complete An Ancient Race
You can begin this achievement by speaking with Machinist Fir at the Mysterious Shrine in the Badlands.
Alternatively, unlock one of the six mysterious structures scattered throughout Midden. You can still visit Fir afterward to learn more about the quest.
There are six structures in total.
To open one, ride your hoverbike through four giant green rings located nearby.
After passing through all four rings, the structure opens and you can collect the item inside.
The six structures are located in:
- Sansee
- Redsee
- Badlands
- Hakoa
- The Wash
- Sodic Waste
Collect all six items and place them on the pedestals inside the Mysterious Shrine.
Speak with Fir, wait a few days, and then speak with her again to finish the quest and unlock the achievement.
The Gliding – Choose Your Mask
This achievement is story-related and cannot be missed.
Complete The Gilding quest and finish the game.
After creating at least one mask, interact with a message droid at any station or camp to begin the quest.

3rd badge: Go to Geyser Rocks in Sodic Waste and speak with Hunter Zebi near the campfire.
He gives you the Riding the Wave quest.
Find his companion, Climber Dilhan, by following the correct climbing route.
Having more stamina from Chum upgrades helps considerably here.
Dilhan asks you to find a Pink Neck egg.
Stand on a geyser to launch yourself into the air, glide toward the nest on the highest pillar, collect the eggs, and return to Dilhan.
Give him an egg to receive the badge.
The Cartographer Mask

Follow the direction indicated by the Archer statues. Each statue points toward another one.
Eventually, you will reach a cave entrance surrounded by two Archer statues.
Some of the statues are difficult to spot, and others have fallen over, so this part can take some searching.
After finding Llhor and speaking with her, she gives you the Entertainer’s badge.

Fishing Achievements
Quite the Catch – Catch Your First Fish
Speak with Angler Yoshi at the Angler Hut in Sansee.
He gives you a Basic Wooden Rod, allowing you to begin fishing immediately.
If you use a keyboard and mouse, hold T to open the fishing menu and hold E to charge your throw.
Charging affects how far your hook travels.
After successfully throwing the line, wait until an exclamation mark appears above Sable’s head.
Press E immediately to begin pulling.
You will then enter the fishing minigame.
Use the A and D keys to keep the fish inside the rectangle until it turns blue.
If it turns red, the fish escapes.
Remember that fish are found in sand, not water or rocky ground.
Different regions also contain different species.
As you return fish to the Vivarium, you can eventually receive the Trickster Atomic Rod, which makes fishing easier by increasing the size of the catching area.
If you are struggling, Easy Fishing can also be enabled in the Settings without affecting achievements.
Vivacious Vivarium – Complete the Collection in the Vivarium
The Vivarium is located in The Wash.
Inside, speak with Researcher Casii.
She asks you to collect fish and insects to complete the collection.
You can also purchase clues that help identify where different creatures can be found.
After returning several fish, you receive the Trickster Atomic Rod, making the fishing minigame easier.
Once you return every required fish and butterfly, you unlock the achievement.
The locations below are based on where the creatures were found during gameplay, so some may also appear elsewhere.

Exploration Related Achievements
Thread the Needle – Reveal a Hicaric Arch Monument
Throughout Midden, you can find mysterious Hicaric structures.
To unlock one, ride your hoverbike through four giant green rings located nearby.
After passing through all four, the monument activates and the achievement unlocks.
One example can be found near The Dunboyne close to Burnt Oak Station.
The Gift of Gab – Talk to 15 NPCs
Speak with 15 different NPCs.
Silver-Tongued Sable – Talk to 30 NPCs
Speak with 30 different NPCs.
Under the Hood – Customise Your Hoverbike With a Machinist
Customise any part of your hoverbike with a Machinist.
You can use dyes purchased from merchants or discovered during exploration.
Early examples include Ibexii Red dye and Salt Plains Pool dye.
Bubble Up – Hover for 1500m Using the Perpetual
Travel a total distance of 1,500 meters while gliding.
Use the gliding mechanic regularly while exploring, and you should eventually unlock this naturally.
Sticky Paws – Climb 500m in Total
Climb a total distance of 500 meters.
Ladders also count toward the achievement.
Dune Rider – Travel 50km on the Bike
Travel a total of 50 kilometers using your hoverbike.
This should unlock naturally as you continue exploring Midden.
Bikes Don’t Fly – Get 5 Seconds of Air Time on the Hoverbike
You need to launch your hoverbike from a high enough location to remain airborne for five seconds.
One reliable place is near Seven Sisters Station in Hakoa.
You should use at least two pieces from the Speedster Bike set for better performance.
Find a large saddle between two hills, accelerate toward it, and launch over the drop.
Immediately angle the bike toward the right and downward to increase your falling time.
There are several other hills and drops throughout Hakoa that can also work.
Not That Kind of Gliding – Fall From a Great Height
Find a very high location and jump without activating your glider.
One easy option is the Cartographer’s balloon in the Badlands.
Reach the balloon by climbing the giant animal skeletons.
Once at the top, jump toward a clear section of ground and allow Sable to fall.
Do not activate the glider manually.
Sable automatically activates the glide when approaching the ground, and the achievement should unlock.
Other Cartographer balloons can also work, except for the one at Ibex Camp.
That covers all the achievements you need for 100% completion in Sable, including the additional fishing content.
The good thing about achievement hunting in Sable is that nothing important is permanently missable. We can explore the world at our own pace, return to unfinished quests, collect badges later, and work toward the remaining achievements whenever we want.
I would still recommend focusing on exploration and enjoying Midden naturally instead of trying to complete everything immediately. Many achievements, including climbing, bike travel, gliding, NPC conversations, and chest collection, will unlock naturally while you explore.
If you are going for full completion, keep returning Chum eggs, collect badges whenever you come across quests, and make sure you visit each region’s Cartographer. Doing those things early will make the rest of the journey much easier.
