Saihate Station thrusts you into a mysterious, eerie train environment where every discovery matters. Exploring this strange locale and solving its cryptic puzzles sharply tests your observational skills and patience, especially when hunting down all the elusive Red Tickets that shape your journey’s multiple endings.
Your adventure begins inside the first carriage—an area that serves as both an intro and a puzzle ground. Grabbing essential items like the Handkerchief and awakening your companion, Shion Tatsunami, are vital first steps. Keep an eye on every interactable object here; missing something could mean backtracking later on.
It’s tempting to rush ahead, but spend time engaging with optional objects as well. These interactions often unlock richer dialogue and background lore, weaving a deeper narrative tapestry that enhances your experience beyond simply progressing.
Part 1: First Carriage & Driver’s Cabin
The initial section acts as a tutorial, easing you into the game’s mechanics while presenting its first puzzle challenge. Before you leave the train’s confines, gather key items, awaken your companion, and crack a password lock that stands between you and the next chapter of the story.
Pro Tip: Don’t overlook any clickable items—some clues and dialogue only reveal themselves through thorough inspection, setting the stage for later revelations.
Pick Up the Handkerchief
Once the opening scene wraps, you’ll awaken inside the first carriage. Your first task is to scour the immediate area for anything useful.
Check the nearby bag and claim the Handkerchief. This item proves handy later on, so make sure it’s in your inventory before moving forward.
Check the Driver’s Cabin
Head to the Driver’s Cabin at the front of the carriage and interact with the Driver’s Seat. This interaction is essential to advance the storyline.
Inside, interact with the Driver’s Seat. This is a required interaction.
Afterward, return to the passenger area to continue exploration.
Wake Up Shion Tatsunami
You’ll find the white-haired Shion Tatsunami sleeping on a seat. Interact with him three times to wake him.

Shion also provides helpful hints during many puzzles, so always listen him whenever he comments on something.
Get the Operator’s ID Card
Near the driver’s cabin entrance, a sparkling object hangs just out of reach. Use Shion to piggyback and grab the item, which turns out to be the Operator’s ID Card.
Interact with it, then choose to piggyback Shion Tatsunami. He’ll get you the item, and you’ll get the operator’s ID card as a reward.
Unlock the Cabinet
Return to the Driver’s Cabin and use the ID card to open a locked cabinet. Inside, you’ll find the Oil Lighter, an item essential for upcoming puzzles.

Before leaving, examine two more objects: the Radio and another piece of Paper, as they give more context to the unfolding mystery.
- Radio
- Paper
Reveal the Second Password Clue
Head back to the passenger carriage and interact with both the blood stain and the Romance Film Poster. Use the poster to wipe the stain, revealing another paper with the number 52.
There are two things you need to interact with:
- The blood stain
- The Romance Film Poster
Use the Romance Film Poster to wipe away the blood stain.
Once done, you will find another hidden piece of paper containing the number: 52
You should now have both password clues:
Now you have the two clues necessary to unlock the door:
- 16
- 52
Solve the Door Password
The locked door requires a four-digit code. Try combining the digits as 5216 and you’ll find it fails.
At first, you might think the answer is 5216, but that’s incorrect.
The trick is to flip the numbers upside down:
- 52 becomes 25
- 16 becomes 91
Turn the numbers upside down, and they become:
- 52 → 25
- 16 → 91
This gives you the correct password:
Your correct password is 2591. Enter this to proceed.
Enter this code to unlock the door and continue.
Leave the First Carriage
With the door open, exit the first carriage and step onto the station platform, ready to dive deeper into the game’s mysteries.
Exit the first carriage to reach the station platform and start exploring the outside area.
Part 2: Station Exterior & Second Carriage
The station platform introduces crucial new elements like your first Red Tickets, a complex electrical puzzle, and fresh story developments. Be meticulous in your search since missing any key item can halt progress.
Collect the First Red Ticket
Immediately on the platform, inspect the nearby trash bin. Inside, you’ll discover your first Red Ticket, essential for unlocking multiple paths.
Interact with it and search inside. You’ll find your first Red Ticket hidden inside.
Read the Newspaper
Though optional, examining the newspaper on a bench adds atmospheric depth and insight into the station’s eerie backstory.
While this interaction isn’t required to continue the story, it provides additional lore and helps you better understand the strange events surrounding Saihate Station.
Head to the Second Carriage
Move left across the platform to reach the entrance of the Second Carriage. Step inside to continue your investigation.
Enter the carriage to continue exploring.
Take the 500 Yen
Spot a bag in front of the fourth row of seats and search it to collect 500 Yen. This currency becomes important later, so don’t leave without it.

Go Upstairs
Ascend the stairs and locate a painting on the wall. Removing it reveals a hidden Rusty Knife—grab it before moving on.

Unlock the Electrical Room
Continue right on the upper floor through the restrooms until you encounter a locked room. Use the Rusty Knife to force entry into the Electrical Room.
Pass through the restroom area until you reach the locked room.
Instead of using a key, use the Rusty Knife to force your way inside and enter the Electrical Room.
Solve the Electrical Puzzle
This room presents your first significant puzzle. Shion’s hints can guide you, but if you prefer to bypass it, the correct switch order is:
- Yellow
- Red
- White
- Blue
- Green
If you speak with Shion Tatsunami, he’ll provide several hints to help you figure it out yourself.
If you’d rather skip the puzzle, use the correct switch order below:
- Yellow

Completing this order restores power throughout the area.
Escape the Fire
Upon restoring electricity, fire erupts, sealing your exit. The Oil Lighter won’t work alone, so you’ll need to act quickly.
Suddenly, a fire will break out and it will block your escape.
If you try to use the Oil Lighter right away, it will not work.
Once the countdown timer appears:
When the countdown begins:
- Run to the top-right corner and grab Oil.
- Return swiftly to the exit.
- Use the Oil with the Oil Lighter to clear the way.
This timed event demands swift decision-making rather than exploration.

Interact with the Computer.
After accessing it, open the Recycle Bin to find additional story information.
Optional Conversation with Shion

This conversation will add extra dialogue and character development, but it’s totally optional.
You can interact with the table several times to listen to all the conversations available.
Buy a Drink from the Vending Machine

Carry the hand upstairs, interact with the window in the restroom area, and toss it out to progress.
Follow Shion
When you try to leave, Shion bolts upstairs. Chase him, engage in conversation, and then exit the carriage afterward.
A cutscene will play, during which Shion suddenly runs away.
Immediately head upstairs and follow him into the restroom area.
Talk to Shion, then leave the carriage once the conversation ends.
Solve the Missing Person Poster Password
Outside the carriage on the right side of the station, examine a Note, a Missing Person Poster, and a Station Map—all essential clues for your next password challenge.
Near the white benches, you’ll find three important clues:
- A Note
- A Missing Person Poster
- A Station Map
Inspect all three before attempting the nearby password lock.
The hint points toward someone’s birthday.
Clues hint at a birthday. Reviewing Haru’s Notebook reveals the birthday 12/12/19XX, so the password is the month and day 1212.
12/12/19XX
The puzzle only requires the month and day, so the correct password is: 1212
Entering this unlocks your second Red Ticket.
Find the Third Red Ticket
Head to the Electrical Area near the Second Carriage entrance. Inspect the fourth cross and locate a small hole nearby housing the third Red Ticket.
