Valheim’s unforgiving world rewards perseverance, and one of its more peculiar challenges tests your willingness to embrace every possible demise. The Are You Alright? achievement isn’t just about surviving but deliberately succumbing to 16 distinct forms of death, each showcasing the game’s variety of lethal threats.

There are exactly 16 specific death types you must endure to claim this achievement. Each death showcases a unique game mechanic or hazard.

All Deaths Type for the Are You Alright? Achievement

1. Death by Enemy

Any hostile creature in Valheim can be responsible for this straightforward death. This type often happens naturally during regular gameplay.

2. Death by Falling

Fall from a significant height and let fall damage lead to your demise. Watch your descent carefully; even experienced players can overlook this.

3. Death by Drowning

Submerge yourself underwater and exhaust your stamina completely. Without air, your character will drown.

4. Death by Burning

Step into flames or a fiery environment and let the damage from burning claim you.

5. Death by Freezing

Exposure to the Freezing effect in cold areas, particularly the Mountain biome, will kill you quickly if you lack proper cold resistance.

6. Death by Poison

Become poisoned by enemies or environmental hazards and allow the poison damage to finish you off.

7. Death by Smoke Inhalation

Create a fire or campfire inside a confined space and stay there while the smoke builds up.

The accumulating smoke causes the Smoked debuff, which can eventually kill you if you linger long enough.

This death tier is easily overlooked, as it requires suffocating in smoke, confirmed by players standing near enclosed fires.

Stay inside the room as the smoke builds up. The Smoked effect will soon kill you.

This death type is easy to miss. It was confirmed after a suggestion to try suffocating from smoke while standing around a furnace or campfire.

8. Death by Tree

Chop down a tree and position yourself where it falls onto your character. The crushing damage must kill you for it to count.

Cut down a tree and stand where it can fall onto your character. The tree damage must kill you for this death type to count.

9. Death by Catapult

This death requires dying from the Catapult structure itself—not its ammo.

Stand near the spiked legs of the Catapult during placement and get crushed.

Get crushed by the spikes on the Catapult’s legs while placing it. Being hit by a launched projectile does not count.

10. Death by Ballista

Allow a Ballista to kill you. Set it up, stand directly in front, and wait for its shot to connect.

11. Death by Obliterator

Stand on the Obliterator device while it activates.

The lightning strike can kill your character, and this counts toward the achievement.

The lightning strike from the Obliterator can kill you, and this death counts toward the achievement.

12. Death by Drawbridge

Position yourself so a Drawbridge crushes you when it lowers or raises.

13. Death by Stalactite

13. Death by Stalactite

Inside a Mountain Ice Cave, wait under a stalactite until it falls and kills you.

14. Death by Ashlands Ocean

14. Death by Ashlands Ocean

Wade into the Ashlands Ocean and let the intense heat drain your health until death.

This contrasts with normal drowning deaths due to extreme heat in this biome.

15. Death by Ashlands Lava

15. Death by Ashlands Lava

Step into Ashlands Lava and succumb to its burning damage.

16. Death by Falling off the Edge of the World

Sail your longship beyond the map boundary and fall into the void.

This dramatic death is unique and marks the final requirement for the achievement.

After you have experienced all these death types, the Are You Alright? achievement unlocks immediately.
