Welcome to Elderfield brims with Ritual Skills that enhance both combat and utility throughout your journey. These magical powers allow you to dispatch foes with fewer strikes, streamlining fights that would otherwise be gruelling. Starting with the basic Guard ritual, players must seek out additional rituals by exploring, purchasing, or defeating enemies, making these skills crucial for survival and progression.

Below is a comprehensive rundown of every known Ritual Skill in the game, detailing how to obtain them and what strategic advantages they offer.

How to Unlock All Rituals in Welcome to Elderfield

How to Get Energy Shot

Energy Shot is your first offensive ritual and one of the earliest you can obtain, a perfect introduction to combat magic in the game.

To acquire it, head northeast of your house where you’ll find the Old Braiser resting on a massive tree stump. Interact with this object to add the ritual to your arsenal.

  • Cost: 2 MP
  • Effect: Fires a weak energy bolt at a target.

Notably, recent patches have updated Energy Shot so it now inherits your weapon’s elemental attributes, which can alter combat strategy depending on your gear.

How to Unlock Warp

Warp serves as a vital utility ritual, granting the ability to teleport back home instantly without cost.

To unlock Warp, visit Mall F1 and enter the Ultra Video shop—the first merchant you see upon entering. Speak with the Shopper positioned near the SALE/camera display at the shop’s far right.

This NPC will gift you the Warp ritual, enabling convenient travel throughout your adventure.

  • Cost: Free
  • Effect: Teleports you back to your home base.

How to Get Dark Shield

Dark Shield is a defensive ritual you can earn by defeating the Office Slime near the Mall F1 hallway door—a valuable boost once you’re ready to tackle tougher foes.

This slime lurks in the southern snack and hallway area. Once defeated, it drops a ritual tome that teaches you Dark Shield.

  • Cost: 3 MP
  • Effect: Increases defense and magic defense by 20% for 3 turns, plus grants +1 Recovery.

Mall Vending Machine Rituals

Mall vending machines provide access to several ritual tomes that offer varied combat and healing effects.

Lesser Mending

  • Price: 25g
  • Cost: 10 MP
  • Effect: Restores 20 HP and adds +1 Recovery.
  • Utility: Can be activated outside of battle.

Cosmic Premonition

  • Price: 50g
  • Effect: Reduces enemy Attack and Defense by 20% for 3 turns and adds +1 Recovery.

Torrent of Darkness

  • Price: 100g
  • Effect: Deals Darkness damage to all enemies simultaneously.

The same vending machine also sells tomes for combat skills such as All or Nothing (25g) and Heavy Blow (5 MP), augmenting your tactical options.

Later Ritual Skills

As you progress through the story and unlock new areas, more powerful Ritual Skills become available, enriching your combat toolkit.

Dark Blast

After completing the Build-A-Wife storyline, seek out Old Man Jackson to acquire Dark Blast, a potent offensive ritual.

  • Cost: 5 MP
  • Effect: Deals Darkness damage with a chance to inflict Hex and adds +1 Fatal.

Ghost Blast

Ghost Blast is a curse-based ritual you gain from Pete, the ghost haunting the apartment laundry room.

Locate Pete to learn this ability, useful for inflicting Curse damage and potentially causing Fear.

  • Cost: 5 MP
  • Effect: Inflicts Curse damage; may cause Fear and grants +1 Fatal.

Energizing Blast

The Energizing Blast ritual is available in the Library and carries a unique utility effect, offering a chance to generate action points during combat.

  • Effect: Has a 15% chance to produce 1 AP (action point).

Pumpkin Blast

Pumpkin Blast becomes accessible after you open the chamber doors within the Old Woods, adding more elemental options to your rituals.

Chaos Thorns

Chaos Thorns is unlocked after clearing the chamber doors in the Sewers, signifying your advancement into deeper regions of the game.

Which Rituals Should You Get First?

For smoother early battles, prioritizing Energy Shot and Warp is wise. Energy Shot equips you with a reliable offensive tool, while Warp enhances map traversal dramatically.

Dark Shield also becomes indispensable once you are capable of confronting the Office Slime, providing much-needed defensive buffs.

Don’t forget to explore the hidden Treasure Rooms of the Old Gods scattered across Elderfield. These areas yield valuable items and rituals to strengthen your build further.
