Starting a new MMORPG can feel overwhelming, especially when the game immediately throws a bunch of systems, quests, equipment, pets, and different activities at you. Yulgang W MMORPG is no different, as there is quite a lot to learn when you first enter the Murim world.
In this Yulgang W Beginner Guide, I’m going to share five tips that I think will make your early progression much easier. We’ll go over choosing your class, completing Story Quests, upgrading equipment, developing Pets, and using Auto Combat and AFK grinding properly.
You don’t need to understand every system on your first day. I recommend taking things step by step and focusing on the things that actually help you become stronger. Once you have a good foundation, the rest of Yulgang W becomes much easier to understand.
1. Choose a Class That Fits Your Playstyle
The first thing you’ll need to decide in Yulgang W is your class.
There are five main classes available:
- Bladesman
- Swordsman
- Spearman
- Healer
- Archer
Each one has a different playstyle, so I wouldn’t recommend choosing a class just because someone tells you that it’s the strongest.
Think about how you normally like playing MMORPGs.
Bladesman
Bladesman is a straightforward melee class that focuses on durability and direct combat.
If you’re completely new to Yulgang W and want something simple to understand, this is one of the classes I’d recommend trying first.
Spearman
Spearman is more focused on aggressive combat, DPS, and crowd control.
If you enjoy getting into the middle of fights and dealing a lot of damage, Spearman could be a better fit for you.
Swordsman
Swordsman gives you another melee option, with a playstyle that can become more interesting as you progress.
It is a good choice if you enjoy melee combat but want something a little different from the straightforward approach of Bladesman.
Healer
Healer is the obvious choice for players who enjoy supporting their teammates.
If you usually play support classes in MMORPGs and like keeping your party alive during difficult content, Healer is worth considering.
Archer
Archer is the ranged option.
If you prefer attacking enemies from a distance and want efficient monster farming, Archer can be a very comfortable choice.
Overall, I wouldn’t stress too much about finding the “perfect” class. All five classes can progress through the game effectively.
Focus on ATK Early
During your early levels, ATK is especially useful.
Higher attack power means you can defeat monsters faster, which makes your questing and farming more efficient.
Once you reach higher levels, you can start adjusting your attributes according to your class and the type of build you want to create.
2. Prioritize Story Quests
After choosing your class, my next recommendation is simple: follow the Story Quests.
It’s tempting to ignore the main quest and immediately start grinding monsters, but the Story Quest gives you a clear path through the early game.
You can earn EXP, resources, and unlock additional parts of the game simply by progressing through the story.
Instead of running around wondering what you should do next, just follow the main quest whenever possible.
What to Do When You Get Level-Gated
Eventually, you may reach a point where a Story Quest requires you to reach a certain level before continuing.
When that happens, don’t just stand around waiting.
You have several other ways to gain EXP, including:
- Side Quests
- House Quests
- Daily Event Quests
- EXP Dungeons
- AFK Grinding
- Other available activities
I would especially recommend using your EXP Dungeons whenever they’re available.
They can give you a useful amount of experience and help you reach the required level so you can continue the main story.
Find Good Farming Locations
When you need to grind, don’t automatically choose the strongest monsters you can find.
Instead, look for an area where your character can kill enemies consistently.
A good farming spot should have:
- Monsters close to your level
- Good monster density
- Fast kill times
- Low risk of dying
- Enough enemies for continuous combat
If you’re farming with other players, a party can also make the process more efficient.
The goal isn’t necessarily to fight the strongest enemies. You want to get the most useful rewards and EXP without constantly stopping or dying.
3. Don’t Waste Your Upgrade Materials
This is one of the biggest mistakes I see new players making in MMORPGs.
When you start Yulgang W, you’re going to receive equipment and upgrade materials regularly. Because of that, it can be tempting to upgrade absolutely everything.
I wouldn’t do that.
Some of the equipment you get early will eventually be replaced, so spending a huge amount of rare materials on temporary gear isn’t always worth it.
Instead, focus your resources on the equipment you’re actually going to keep using.
Prioritize Your Important Equipment
Your weapon should generally be one of your main priorities because increasing your damage makes almost every part of the early game easier.
For your other equipment, check the stats before investing heavily.
I’d recommend:
- Upgrading your main weapon first.
- Improving important equipment rather than everything.
- Checking stats before spending materials.
- Saving rare upgrade materials for better gear.
- Avoiding unnecessary skill upgrades.
- Using Gems that match your equipment.
You don’t need to create a perfect build immediately.
At the beginning, your goal should simply be to create an efficient character that can comfortably complete quests and farm monsters.
Use Your Gems Carefully
Gems are another way to increase your overall Power.
For an early setup, you can consider options such as:
- Skill Power Increase Gem for weapons
- DEF Gem for armor
- ATK Gem for accessories
These are simple choices that can help improve your character without requiring you to overthink your build.
As you progress further, you’ll have more opportunities to optimize your Gems around your specific class.
4. Develop Your Pet
Don’t ignore the Pet system.
Pets in Yulgang W aren’t just there to follow your character around. They can provide additional abilities and Power, which can help in different types of content.
Your Pet can be useful for things like:
- Monster farming
- Dungeons
- General progression
- PvP
- Increasing your overall Power
So, whenever you obtain a new Pet, take a moment to check what it actually offers.
How to Improve Your Pet
There are several ways to develop your Pets.
You can:
- Increase the Pet’s level.
- Increase its Star Level.
- Respec it when necessary.
- Choose skills that fit your build.
- Combine Pets according to their roles.
- Use different Pets for different types of content.
I also wouldn’t immediately throw away every weaker Pet you get.
A lower-quality Pet can still be useful during the early game if you develop it properly.
As you continue playing, you’ll naturally obtain better options and can replace your weaker Pets over time.
Match Your Pet to Your Playstyle
Try to think about what you’re actually doing.
If you’re mostly farming monsters, use a Pet that helps with that type of content.
If you’re preparing for dungeons or PvP, you can eventually build around those activities instead.
You don’t need the perfect Pet on day one. Just make sure you’re actually using the system instead of leaving free Power on the table.
5. Use Auto Combat and AFK Grinding Properly
One of the most useful features in Yulgang W is Auto Combat.
You can let your character fight monsters automatically, which is especially helpful when you need to farm EXP or materials.
However, there’s a difference between using Auto Combat and using it effectively.
You shouldn’t simply turn it on and leave your character anywhere.
Choose the Right AFK Farming Spot
Before going AFK, make sure the enemies you’re fighting are appropriate for your character.
If monsters are too strong, your character might constantly die or burn through potions.
That completely defeats the purpose of AFK farming.
Instead, find a location where you can comfortably defeat monsters over and over.
Before leaving your character farming, check:
- Your HP and MP.
- Your potion settings.
- The level of the monsters.
- Your available inventory space.
- Whether you have an EXP Booster available.
- Monster density in the area.
- Whether joining a party would improve your farming.
- Whether your character is dying too often.
The best AFK location isn’t necessarily the highest-level area.
A location where you kill monsters quickly and survive consistently can often be much better.
Use EXP Boosters Wisely
If you have an EXP Booster, consider using it when you’re planning a longer farming session.
There’s little point in activating one and then stopping your farming shortly afterward.
Try to combine your boosters with a good farming location so you can get as much value from them as possible.
Take Advantage of Cross-Platform Progression
Yulgang W also supports progression across PC and mobile.
That can be particularly useful if you want to manage your character throughout the day.
For example, you can play actively on PC when you’re sitting down to play and then use your mobile device when you want to check on your character or continue progressing elsewhere.
Bonus Tip — Don’t Rush Into PvP
Yulgang W has quite a few PvP and large-scale activities, including:
- Open-World PK
- House War
- Global Battle
- World Boss
These activities are definitely worth exploring, but I wouldn’t rush into serious PvP immediately after creating your character.
Early on, your resources are limited.
If you start spending everything trying to maximize your PvP Power before you have a good foundation, you can easily run out of upgrade materials.
Instead, focus first on:
- Story Quests
- Equipment
- Gems
- Pets
- EXP
- Dungeons
- General character progression
Once your character is stronger, you can start experimenting with PvP builds.
Join a House
I’d also recommend joining a House if you want to experience more of the game’s group content.
A House gives you opportunities to interact with other players and participate in larger activities.
It can also make the game feel much more enjoyable if you have people to play with instead of doing everything alone.
Starting Yulgang W MMORPG doesn’t have to be complicated.
There are a lot of systems available, but you don’t need to master all of them immediately. I recommend focusing on the basics first and gradually learning everything else as your character becomes stronger.
The five things I’d focus on most are:
- Choose a class that fits your playstyle.
- Follow Story Quests whenever possible.
- Don’t waste upgrade materials on temporary equipment.
- Develop your Pet for additional Power and useful abilities.
- Use Auto Combat and AFK farming in areas your character can handle comfortably.
Once you’ve built a solid foundation, you can start exploring the more advanced parts of Yulgang W, including dungeons, House activities, World Bosses, PvP, and other endgame systems.
Most importantly, don’t feel like you need to rush.
Take your time, upgrade your character intelligently, and focus on steady progression. If you do that, the early game should become much smoother and you’ll have a much better idea of where you want to take your character later
