Once back at the Unknown, make your way toward the central island. Here lies a Gravity Well that lets you plunge through the Patterning. Prepare for a long drop descending straight to the Hedron’s lair.

The Hedron fight is similar in style to previous encounters with its kind. You won’t engage it head-on; instead, your task is to take down the smaller enemies it summons around the arena in order to inflict damage on the boss itself.

For a final boss, the Hedron keeps its attacks relatively simple—primarily firing projectiles either singularly or in lines. These attacks are straightforward to dodge, so keep moving and focus on the enemies.

Wait patiently for the Hedron to summon enemies near the arena’s center. These foes will align horizontally and traverse back and forth. Jumping is a reliable way to avoid their sweeping attacks.

Position yourself close to where enemies appear. Chasing them around wastes time since they naturally return to the central area. Meanwhile, watch out for the ongoing projectile onslaught.

Once you’ve eliminated several smaller foes, tougher enemies will spawn. These heavy enemies deal significant damage to the Hedron when defeated. Luckily, they tend to hold their ground, making them easier targets.

The strategy here is straightforward: dodge attacks and whittle down enemy waves. After you reduce the Hedron’s health to zero, unleash an Execution attack to progress.

Dylan will repeatedly strike the core, but eventually, he gets plunged into a Patterned zone. Here, disembodied voices from Dylan and Jesse echo strangely—this is actually the Hedron trying to deceive you. Deliver another Execution attack to deal damage.

The Hedron yanks you back to reality, marking the second phase. You’ll still focus on defeating the spawned enemies, but watch out for new and more aggressive attacks.

Immediately upon landing, press Shift near the arena’s edges to launch the fight. The Hedron begins firing laser beams—both single shots and cluster attacks targeting your position. Don’t panic; constant movement keeps you safe from these predictable patterns.

Wait for the enemy spawn waves before engaging. These foes now move laterally while shooting laser lines. When they line up, interrupt their attack by harming any enemy in formation, preferably using ranged attacks like Barrage for quick disruption.

Halfway through, you might notice the spawn count dwindling. That’s because enemies will now also appear on a separate platform. Use Reach to traverse to this new area and continue the fight.

Here, single lasers start tracking your movements, and the Hedron adds homing projectiles to its arsenal. Prioritize wiping out heavy enemies quickly, as they’re key to reducing the boss’s health.

Just like before, when the Hedron’s health reaches zero, perform another Execution attack. Once more, you’ll be pulled inside the core’s Patterning to keep pressing your assault.

Wait patiently for the Patterned lines to subside before executing your attack. Timing this perfectly allows you to chip away at the Hedron’s core effectively.

The final phase expands the battle across two platforms again. The Hedron’s attacks become more hazardous, introducing exploding smaller Hedron enemies. These detonate shortly after appearing—make space as soon as you spot them.

Continuously switch platforms using Shift to keep up with enemy spawns. Health Orbs litter the arena, but conserve their use for when you’re genuinely in need.

Keep focusing on eliminating heavy enemies, which impact the Hedron’s health most. Smaller foes primarily serve as distraction and, occasionally, as a source of health via their drops.

Once you drain the Hedron’s health bar, perform the finishing Execution attack and deliver the final blow on the core. The explosion you’ll witness signals the Hedron’s physical form being destroyed over Manhattan’s skyline.

The Hedron begins to Pattern Dylan, deteriorating his control while Zoe attempts to reach the Unknown. She momentarily believes the threat is over until Dylan’s voice haunts her, urging the use of the MCD device.

The MCD is the only way to truly purge the Hedron, but at a great cost—Dylan’s life. Flashbacks reveal the origins of this device and Dylan’s tragic past, illuminating his resolve.

Here, wait for the Patterned lines to finish, then use your Execution attack to continue the fight.

Third Phase

One more phase remains. Just like the previous one, you have two platforms where the fight will take place.

You still need to defeat the enemies the Hedron spawns, particularly the heavy enemies, as these are the ones that contribute to its health bar. Treat the smaller enemies as a source of health when you need it.

The Hedron will, of course, use new attacks here. It will send small, exploding Hedrons your way. There is a short delay before they explode, so move away from them before they detonate.

Whenever you run out of enemies to fight, switch platforms using Shift.

If you need healing, there are Health Orbs around the arena that you can use, but make sure you only go for them when necessary.

That’s all there is to this phase. It was just a drag at this point. Deplete the Hedron’s health and perform the finishing attack. When you reach the core, finish it off.

This will destroy the core, and you will see it explode and disappear from the sky over Manhattan.

The End

After dealing with the core, you will find yourself at the Gap, with the Board speaking in a way that makes no sense. When Dylan stands up, go up the stairs to trigger a cutscene.

You will see the Hedron, which means you only destroyed its physical form, and now it’s taking over Dylan’s mind. You will start seeing Dylan getting Patterned as the Hedron gains the upper hand.

Zoe tries to radio Dylan as she makes her way to the Unknown. For a split second, she is happy to see the Hedron gone, but then she hears Dylan screaming and demanding that she use the device, the MCD.

It’s the only way to get rid of the Hedron once and for all, but this means Dylan will die…

The next scene shows a flashback of Doctor Darling speaking to young Dylan after his incident with Roberts. We knew that Darling made the MCD to control Dylan, and Dylan is now remembering all of this.

Back at the Gap, it seems that the MCD wasn’t enough to shut Dylan down. Instead, he simply ripped the device from the back of his head.

Kill The Hedron

Now controlling Dylan, look into the cell and interact with your reflection. This reveals Hiss Dylan, and by breaking the glass, you allow the Hiss to empower your Aberrant weapon.

In this empowered state, all your attacks hit harder. Platform carefully towards the Hedron’s location. Enemies on the way can be ignored; the Hiss will neutralize them.

You must defeat a wave of enemies blocking progress halfway through, but beyond that, focus on the platforming challenge to reach the Hedron.

As you near the Hedron, the Board warns that killing it will kill Dylan, but he ignores the threat and drives the Hiss-infused Aberrant into the Hedron.

The Hedron falls, but Dylan’s sacrifice sets the stage for a poignant finale.

From here, it’s just platforming until you reach the Hedron. As soon as you approach it, the Board tries to stop Dylan, as killing the Hedron will kill him.

Dylan has had enough of this, so he simply runs forward to stab the Hedron with the Hiss-infused Aberrant, and it works… but at what cost?

What Did You Do, Jesse?

Dylan collapses, his breath growing shallow as the Hedron fades away, freeing Jesse from its Patterning. Yet Jesse’s relief is shadowed by tragic realization.

Despite everything, Jesse refuses to accept her brother’s sacrifice. In a stirring moment, she places her hand over Dylan’s chest and channels her power to exchange places with him.

Dylan is revived, but Jesse now remains where Dylan once was—bearing the cost of the battle’s outcome and changing the course of their story forever.

Jesse did not go through all this trouble just to see her brother die and be taken away from her. She did what no one thought she could do.

In an emotional scene, we witness Jesse putting her hand on her brother’s chest, focusing her power, and switching places with him.

Dylan somehow gets revived, but Jesse… Jesse is in his place.
