Equipment Types

Dark Hours All Monsters

Diving into monster behavior helps you plan your approach and minimize risk. For essential loadouts, our equipment guide highlights the gear necessary to counter the threats you’ll face.

Premonitions

At the start of each round, you receive a glimpse of the monster about to appear, known as a premonition. Since this vision sometimes comes after the monster has spawned, staying alert and adapting quickly remain key.

Blind Ghoul

The Blind Ghoul is a nosferatu-like menace characterized by its elongated limbs and reliance on auditory senses over sight.

Traits:

  • Hearing – This ghoul detects sounds such as doors opening and voices captured by mics, so minimizing noise by crouch-walking is vital.
  • Blind – It lacks any vision, making silence and distance your best defense.

Attack:

  • The Blind Ghoul attacks through physical contact. Upon sensing a human nearby, it initiates an attack that downs the target. Interrupt this with a well-timed foghorn blast before the attack animation finishes. Late use only stuns the ghoul, leaving the victim downed.

Weaknesses:

  • Foghorn – Even a brief foghorn blast can stun the ghoul. Timing subsequent blasts carefully can keep it continuously stunned.
  • Tranquilizer Gun – Darts slow the ghoul, giving you more time to avoid attacks.

Note: Opening noisy containers requires caution. Hide immediately after and wait until the ghoul stops investigating to safely proceed.

Stone Stalkers

Stone Stalkers resemble marble statues of women and behave like the classic “weeping angels,” moving only when out of sight.

Traits:

  • Move When Unseen – They advance only when you’re not looking directly at them and emit a distinct scraping noise as they move.

Attack:

  • Stone Stalkers down their victims with a grabbing contact attack.

Weakness:

  • Visual Contact – Keeping your eyes fixed on the statues prevents their movement. Corral them together and assign one player to maintain visual contact to allow others to move safely.

Hidebehind

The Hidebehind is a shadowy, humanoid tree-like monster with glowing eyes that phases in and out of existence.

  • Traits:
    • Ethereal: This entity can vanish and teleport, making it unpredictable.
  • Attack:
    • When visible, it slowly closes in to grab its prey. After three fuses are active, it gains increased speed and its kill cooldown resets, making it even more dangerous.
  • Weakness:
    • Camera Flash: Temporarily banishes the Hidebehind, providing a moment to escape or counterattack.
  • Note:
    • It occasionally vanishes when directly observed, though it’s unclear if this is a deliberate weakness to exploit.

Banshee

The Banshee appears as a spectral blue ghostly woman who haunts your path with eerie singing and deadly attacks.

  • Traits:
    • Ethereal: Like other ghosts, she disappears and teleports unpredictably.
    • Singing: Her haunting song signals her presence, so vigilance is needed when you hear it.
  • Attacks:
    • She wails to freeze nearby players before lunging at the nearest target. With three fuses active, she gains a dash ability, swiftly downing anyone in her way.
  • Weakness:
    • Earmuffs: Using earmuffs blocks her freezing wail but doesn’t prevent her grab attack, which can still down you if contact is made.
  • Note:
    • The Banshee can sometimes bypass walls to attack. Frozen players can be revived by teammates or tools like a hairdryer if not attacked immediately.
