March of Giants plunges players into massive battles where commanding towering Giants is key. Choosing the right Giant can mean the difference between crushing victory and devastating defeat, especially in the early-access playtests where every ability counts.
The current roster of March of Giants encompasses 17 distinct Giants, each with unique abilities and roles on the battlefield. Sixteen are immediately available in the Pioneer Playtest running from October 7 to 18, 2026, while the mysterious 17th, Pandemos, is set to join later, promising new strategies to uncover.
Out of these, 16 Giants are playable right now. Keep in mind, these details stem from the Pioneer Playtest and could be fine-tuned before the final release. Pandemos, arriving on October 12, remains shrouded in mystery and is expected to introduce refreshing mechanics.
Quick note: This guide is based on the Pioneer Playtest, so things can change before release. I’ll update it when Pandemos gets his full reveal.

Those familiar with the 2025 Closed Alpha might notice some Giants have been renamed for this phase. Notably, Brother Light is now Solace, Mole changed to Trench Maw, Kraken revamped as Voidmaster, and Le Poilu updated to Wolfgang. Alongside names, the visual designs have shifted, sparking debate over their more humanlike appearance versus the previous fantastical style.
If you played the 2025 Closed Alpha, some names have changed. Brother Light is now Solace, Mole is now Trench Maw, Kraken is now Voidmaster, and Le Poilu is now Wolfgang.
The new looks are a little bit controversial. Some people like it while the others believe the giants don’t look like giants anymore and are too humanlike. I’m with the second group and liked the fantasy like look of the Alpha more.
The roster divides into two distinct combat roles: melee and ranged. Melee Giants thrive in close combat, initiating engagements and soaking up damage, whereas ranged Giants excel from a distance, offering support through damage, healing, or control.
Among these, 9 Giants fight primarily in melee: Victoria, Wolfgang, Voidmaster, Strykka, Kragg, Oriane, Iron Sister, Trench Maw, and Ossuary. The ranged group includes Solace, Flint, Malgrove, Dreadnought, Stratus, Goliath, and Elaris. Pandemos’ role is yet to be confirmed.
Melee Giants fight up close. They start fights, take hits, or chase down targets. Victoria, Wolfgang, Voidmaster, Strykka, Kragg, Oriane, Iron Sister, Trench Maw, and Ossuary are all melee.
Ranged Giants fight from a distance. They deal damage, heal, or control fights from behind the front line. Solace, Flint, Malgrove, Dreadnought, Stratus, Goliath, and Elaris are all ranged.
The game encourages flexible builds. Ubisoft hints that through Kinetic Power, Alchemic Power, soldier-centric upgrades, and custom Augments, any Giant can adapt to multiple roles. This versatility means mastering a Giant’s core kit is just the starting point before you tweak your playstyle.
