- The seasonal event FischFright 3 has brought some seriously cool gear to Fisch with its six limited-time Halloween rods. Each offers different playstyles and bonuses, so nailing these unlocks is all about hitting event quests and grinding rare drops. Players scrambling to complete their collections or find that perfect rod for the event will want to know exactly where to start and what to expect along the way.
- FischFright 3’s six Halloween rods each have unique unlock requirements, tied to event quests and special rituals. Four of these rods—Boglin Branch, Eldritch, Webweaver, and Doomsekkar—are earned through straightforward questlines and event challenges. The Dutchman’s Rod and Omniscient Spinecaster come from completing mystical rituals, which pose their own challenges. Here’s how you can earn each rod during the event.
- The Boglin Branch starts with the Youngster Goblin quest near Beatrix’s Cauldron in Caustic Hallow. Begin by talking to the Youngster Goblin and tracking your quest objectives carefully, as you need to finish several challenges and collect three rare Boglin items before you’ll be rewarded the rod.
- The Boglin Branch excels with a strong Luck stat and solid Lure Speed, great for catching those rare event fish. It can handle fish weighing up to 550,000 kg, making it versatile for heavier catches during FischFright 3.
- The Eldritch Rod unlocks once you reach Hex Energy Level 11 by offering Witch’s Ingredients to Beatrix’s cauldron in Caustic Hallow. Since this quest shares items with the Boglin Branch, working on both at once can speed up your progress.

Keep in mind that the Boglin Skull, Boglin Twig, and Boglin Wraps are rare drops. You may need to complete several rounds before obtaining all three items, so keep farming until the quest tracker confirms your progress.

Find Beatrix near her tree and interact with her cauldron. Choose to offer single or multiple Witch’s Ingredients, and watch the Hex Energy counter rise. When you hit Level 11, you’ll be able to claim the Eldritch Rod along with some cool bonus rewards like Witch’s Pot furniture and the Coffin Bobber.

- Visit 16 different houses while holding the Candy Bucket to trick-or-treat (revisits won’t count).
- Catch 15 Cobweb Cod in the cavern’s green waters.

This means you can obtain the rod without spending extra Treats from your existing balance, provided you save the entire quest reward. Make sure you do not spend those Treats on other event items before buying the rod.

The Doomsekkar Rod requires completing Doomsekkar’s multi-step questline near the Halloween graveyard. This involves catching numerous fish in Frightful Pools, achieving Perfect Catches, and capturing a special haunted spirit during an event.
You need to complete the following three objectives:
- Catch 100 fish from Frightful Pools, temporary glowing pools appearing briefly around the ocean. For faster farming, buy a Frightful Pool Totem from the Flying Dutchman for 3,000 Treats to spawn a pool manually.
- Land 50 Perfect Catches while fishing.
- Capture a haunted spirit inside the correct glowing haunted house in Caustic Hallow.
Tip: Combine the first two tasks by fishing in Frightful Pools while aiming for Perfect Catches to optimize your time.
