If you’ve been wondering why everyone is talking about the Red Mist weapon in Legacy Piece, it’s because it’s one of the hardest weapons to unlock in the latest update. The weapon, inspired by Gebura (The Red Mist) from Lobotomy Corporation, isn’t something you’ll casually pick up after a few boss runs.
In fact, most players won’t even get a chance to fight the boss consistently because of how the spawning system works.
If you’re planning to farm Red Mist, prepare for a long grind. Here’s everything you need to know before you start.
Where Is the Red Mist NPC?
The NPC responsible for unlocking the weapon can be found on Ruined City Island.
Once you reach the island, interact with the Red Mist NPC to view the unlock requirements. You won’t be able to obtain the weapon immediately unless you’ve already gathered every required material.
Red Mist Weapon Requirements
To unlock Red Mist, you’ll need all of the following:
- Crimson Fragments
- Crimson Cores
- SS Rank Red Mist Title
- Around 50,000,000 Gold
Until every requirement is completed, the NPC won’t allow you to obtain the weapon.
How to Get SS Rank
Fortunately, this is one of the easier requirements.
You simply need to keep defeating bosses to increase your rank. Since you’ll already be farming bosses for other materials, your rank should naturally progress over time.
How to Farm 50 Million Gold
The biggest gold requirement can look intimidating at first.
According to the guide, one of the best methods is repeatedly farming or AFKing the last quest in Ruined City. Since you’ll likely spend a lot of time there anyway, it’s an efficient way to build up the massive amount of gold needed for the weapon.
How to Get Crimson Fragments, Crimson Cores, and the Red Mist Title
These three requirements all come from the Red Mist World Boss.
Unfortunately, this is where the real grind begins.
Unlike normal bosses, Red Mist is a World Boss, meaning it doesn’t always appear when the world boss event starts.
The Biggest Problem: World Boss Spawn Rate
There are multiple world bosses available in the game.
Because of this, the Red Mist boss only has roughly a 33% chance of being the one that spawns whenever a world boss appears.
That means you’ll often wait through an entire world boss cycle only to discover a different boss has spawned instead.
Even after Red Mist finally appears, the grind isn’t over.
Red Mist Drops Are Not Guaranteed
Defeating the boss doesn’t guarantee you’ll receive:
- Crimson Fragments
- Crimson Cores
- SS Rank Red Mist Title
The boss has randomized drops, so expect to defeat it multiple times before collecting everything you need.
To make matters worse, world bosses can eventually despawn if players don’t defeat them quickly enough.
Mimicry Chests
While farming the Red Mist boss, you can also obtain Mimicry Chests.
These chests may contain:
- Crafting materials
- Cosmetic outfit pieces
The video also mentions that a redeem code is available for free Mimicry Chests, making it worth claiming if it’s still active.
Best Farming Strategy
Trying to farm Red Mist entirely by yourself can be frustrating.
A much better approach is to farm with friends.
Here’s what many experienced players do:
- Split into different private servers.
- Wait until someone finds the Red Mist World Boss.
- Everyone joins that server immediately.
- Defeat the boss together.
- Repeat the process across multiple servers.
If you don’t have a farming group, server hopping or checking the game’s Discord community can also help you locate active Red Mist spawns more quickly.
Red Mist Passive: Undying Vow
After unlocking and upgrading the weapon, you’ll eventually gain access to its passive ability called Undying Vow.
The passive changes depending on your health.
Above 50% HP
When your health is above half, the passive is intended to inflict Burn effects on enemies.
Below 50% HP
Once your HP drops below 50%, the weapon shifts into a defensive mode by dramatically improving your health recovery.
The passive description also hints at an additional effect after landing the finishing blow, although during testing the creator mainly noticed the fast health regeneration rather than obvious burn explosions.
Unlocking higher mastery also grants access to an additional B move, expanding the weapon’s moveset.
Is Red Mist Worth the Grind?
After seeing the complete moveset, Red Mist definitely lives up to its reputation as a powerful late-game weapon.
Its attacks are flashy, the passive offers solid survivability, and the overall damage output places it among the stronger weapons currently available in Legacy Piece.
The only downside is the unlock process.
Between the 50 million gold requirement, random boss spawns, RNG drops, and the world boss system, Red Mist is easily one of the longest weapon grinds in the game.
If you’re patient—and preferably farming with friends—the process becomes much more manageable. Otherwise, expect this to be a long-term goal rather than something you’ll finish in a single play session.
