The Morimens 2.5 Anniversary has brought back several of the game’s strongest characters, making it one of the best times to start playing or strengthen an existing account. Of course, that also creates a familiar problem—there are more good characters than most players can realistically pull.
After spending time with the current meta, one thing stands out more than ever: supports age much better than damage dealers. New DPS characters arrive almost every update, but versatile supports tend to stay relevant for months, sometimes even years. That’s why this tier list focuses on long-term value instead of simply ranking whoever has the biggest damage numbers.
Whether you’re clearing the main story, pushing Dream Tide, or planning your anniversary summons, this guide ranks every notable character based on overall usefulness, team flexibility, investment requirements, and future potential.

How We Ranked These Characters
Rather than focusing on a single game mode, these rankings consider how useful each character is throughout the entire game.
The rankings are based on:
- Story progression
- Dream Tide performance
- Team flexibility
- Performance at low investment
- Endgame viability
- Future-proof value
- Overall resource efficiency
Characters that perform well without requiring multiple duplicate copies naturally rank higher than those that only shine after heavy investment.
Understanding Investment Levels
Before jumping into the rankings, it’s worth explaining the investment terms you’ll often see within the community.
F2P
These characters perform well with minimal investment, usually around E0 to E2. Since most players fall into this category, our rankings heavily prioritize characters that work well without requiring multiple duplicates.
Dolphin
Dolphin investment usually refers to E3 or slightly higher. These players spend occasionally but aren’t aiming to fully maximize every character.
Whale
Whale investment includes Over Enhancement and Advanced Awakening. Some characters dramatically improve at this level, although they’re far less practical for the average player.
S Tier Characters
These are the safest investments currently available. They fit into numerous team compositions and remain valuable regardless of future updates.
Thais
If someone asked me to recommend just one character for a new account, Thais would probably be my first answer.
She doesn’t dominate battles through flashy animations or enormous damage numbers. Instead, she quietly improves every team she’s placed in. Better consistency, smoother rotations, stronger teammates—it’s the kind of support that becomes impossible to replace once you’ve experienced it.
Why She’s S Tier
Pros
- Universal support
- Fits almost every team
- Excellent for both beginners and veterans
- Extremely future-proof
Cons
- Doesn’t function as a primary damage dealer
Horla
Horla is another support whose true value becomes clearer the longer you play.
Many newer players underestimate her because her impact isn’t immediately obvious. Once you start tackling more difficult content, however, you quickly notice just how many successful team compositions rely on her utility.
Even if you don’t build her immediately, she’s absolutely worth pulling.
Pros
- Outstanding utility
- Fits many late-game teams
- Great long-term investment
Cons
- Less impactful during the earliest stages of progression
Clementine
Arc 2 introduced plenty of powerful characters, but Clementine continues to stand out.
She’s especially valuable in Strength-focused and Keyflare teams, although her usefulness extends well beyond those archetypes. Best of all, she performs exceptionally well without demanding massive investment.
Pros
- Fantastic support abilities
- Excellent at low investment
- Future-proof
- Fits multiple team styles
Cons
- Doesn’t replace a dedicated carry
Pickman
Pickman isn’t the easiest character to learn, but he’s absolutely worth mastering.
His card chain mechanics can seem overwhelming at first, yet once everything clicks, he becomes one of the strongest supports in the game. His synergy within the famous BBQ Posse setup alone makes him an excellent investment.
Pros
- Incredible team support
- High skill ceiling
- Enables several top-tier teams
Cons
- Requires practice to play efficiently
Arachne
Arachne rarely gets the same attention as some of the game’s biggest damage dealers, but she’s one of the strongest enablers available.
She improves multiple carries without demanding significant investment herself, making her an easy recommendation for nearly every account.
Pros
- Amazing team flexibility
- Excellent support utility
- Strong long-term value
Cons
- Doesn’t deal impressive personal damage
A Tier Characters
These characters are excellent choices but usually rely on specific teammates or have one noticeable drawback.
Gelot
Gelot remains one of the strongest carries available for players who don’t want to spend heavily.
While newer Arc 2 units have slightly reduced her dominance, she still clears content comfortably when built correctly.
Pros
- Strong DPS
- F2P friendly
- Reliable throughout progression
Cons
- Outperformed by some newer carries
Castor
Castor combines shielding with valuable card generation, making him an excellent defensive support for tougher encounters.
Pros
- Excellent survivability
- Strong utility
- Great defensive option
Cons
- Lower offensive contribution
gMurphy
gMurphy is a character whose value depends heavily on investment.
At lower enhancement levels he functions primarily as support, while whale accounts can transform him into an extremely dangerous damage dealer.
Pros
- Flexible role
- Great in Lemurian teams
- High late-game potential
Cons
- Investment dependent
Mouchette
Few characters provide as much value for free-to-play players.
She performs surprisingly well without requiring excessive upgrades and remains a dependable carry throughout much of the game.
Pros
- F2P friendly
- Strong carry
- Easy to recommend
Cons
- Doesn’t scale as well as premium carries
Xu
Poison teams simply aren’t complete without Xu.
She greatly increases poison damage while helping trigger poison effects more consistently.
Pros
- Core poison support
- Excellent synergy
- Powerful amplifier
Cons
- Limited outside poison teams
Vortice
Vortice’s Pursuit mechanics allow her to contribute impressive damage with relatively modest investment.
Her ceiling becomes much higher with additional copies, but she’s useful well before reaching that point.
Pros
- Great damage
- Strong scaling
- Effective at all progression stages
Cons
- Higher investment improves her significantly
B Tier Characters
These characters remain perfectly viable but are generally more niche.
Daffodil
An incredibly technical damage dealer who rewards careful planning.
Her biggest weakness is the amount of support she requires before reaching her full potential.
Pros
- High damage ceiling
- Great with proper setup
Cons
- Demands specific teammates
Sorel
A strong multi-hit damage dealer capable of excellent performance when fully invested.
Pros
- High damage
- Great against bosses
Cons
- Expensive to build
Lily
Lily combines healing, shields, and poison support into one flexible package.
Pros
- Good survivability
- Useful poison support
Cons
- Team dependent
Murphy
Murphy still provides valuable Strength Down and discard utility.
While newer characters have surpassed him, he’s still perfectly usable.
Salvador
Most players use Salvador as support, although whales can also build him as a damage dealer.
For most accounts, sticking with his support role is the better option.
Kathi
Kathi shines inside her dedicated team compositions but struggles outside them.
Corposant
Corposant begins as a respectable DPS before transitioning into more of a Strength generator as investment increases.
C Tier Characters
These characters can still clear content but have largely been replaced by stronger alternatives.
Tulu
Useful early on but struggles to compete with newer Arc 2 carries.
Wanda
Designed around Counter and Strength Down strategies that currently aren’t among the strongest team archetypes.
Myriam
Mostly valuable within one specific team composition.
Ryker
Best paired with Kathi, making him a fairly niche investment.
Tawil
Once one of the game’s strongest carries, Tawil is now more commonly used to support Vortice teams.
gDoll
Useful in poison and Daffodil teams but difficult to justify elsewhere.
Doresain
Recent improvements helped, but he still requires significant investment to compete.
D Tier Characters
24
Unfortunately, 24 is one of the weakest investments available during Version 2.5.
She requires heavy investment, doesn’t fit many teams, and offers far less value than most other anniversary characters.
Unless she’s one of your personal favorites, your resources are usually better spent elsewhere.
Best Characters for Beginners
If you’re just starting Morimens, these are the characters I’d prioritize first.
- Thais
- Clementine
- Horla
- Pickman
- Arachne
- Mouchette
- Xu
- Vortice
- Gelot
- Castor
Building around these characters creates a solid foundation that remains useful well into the endgame.
Pull Priority for Version 2.5
Must Pull
- Thais
- Horla
- Clementine
Highly Recommended
- Pickman
- Arachne
- Xu
- Vortice
Good If They Fit Your Team
- Gelot
- Castor
- Mouchette
- gMurphy
Pull Mainly for Personal Preference
- Doresain
- 24
- Ryker
- Wanda
The biggest trap during anniversary events is chasing every new damage dealer. It’s tempting to prioritize whoever posts the highest numbers, but those characters are often the first to be replaced when the next update arrives.
Supports tell a different story. Characters like Thais, Horla, Clementine, Pickman, and Arachne continue to make entire teams stronger regardless of which new DPS joins the roster. That’s why they’re such safe long-term investments.
If your summons are limited, build your support core first. Once that’s in place, adding powerful carries becomes much easier, and your account will be far better prepared for whatever future updates bring to Morimens.
